05/12/2025: We were guests at Hotel Poseidon and made a reservation at Il Tridente expecting a safe, professional dining experience. Instead, my family endured an incident that could have killed my son, paired with some of the worst behavior I have ever witnessed from a manager in hospitality. We clearly informed the staff that my son has a nut allergy. Despite this, they placed a starter breadbasket on our table with no explanation whatsoever—and it contained nuts. My son took a bite, unknowingly. Only 20 minutes later did a waiter return with a “nut-free” basket and admit the first one had nuts. We had not been told, warned, or advised at any point. I raced up the entire property—multiple elevators and several flights of stairs—to grab his emergency medication. Anyone familiar with allergies knows that within minutes, this mistake could have become deadly. My son’s life was put at risk because the staff failed one of the most basic responsibilities of a restaurant. But what made this experience truly appalling was the manager. His behavior was not just unprofessional—it was shockingly rude, dismissive, defensive, and outright hostile. As I explained what had happened, he repeatedly cut me off, raised his voice, and insisted his staff “would never” make such an error. He acted as if I was the problem for daring to bring up a life-threatening mistake. The waiter himself then stepped in and admitted the truth, proving the manager wrong. Even after being confronted with the facts, the manager still showed zero remorse. No apology. No concern. No accountability. Not even basic human decency while I was shaking and trying to ensure my son was safe. His attitude added a level of emotional distress that was completely unnecessary during an already terrifying situation. For a restaurant positioned as fine dining, this was an absolute disgrace. Mistakes can happen—but the way management chooses to handle them reveals everything about an establishment. And this manager showed a level of arrogance and indifference that is completely unacceptable in any setting, let alone one where guests’ lives are at stake. I will never return, and I strongly warn any family with food allergies—or anyone who expects even minimal respect or compassion—to avoid this restaurant entirely. No parent should have to fight with a manager while fearing for their child’s safety.

05/12/2025: Best place on our stop to Postitano. Great views, food and service! Get ready for an uphill hike, we were gassed! But it was well worth it!

26/05/2026: We chose to rely on Frantoio for our wedding. It was an excellent gastronomic and organizational experience. Serena and Pierpaolo were crucial to the success of the wedding, offering advice and solutions to unforeseen issues that, with a beach party, inevitably occurred. A mixed Cilento antipasto with fresh products and dry, tasty fried dishes kicked off the buffet, filling the bellies of our guests, who, weeks later, still recall the wonder. To conclude, Frantoio's cuisine is a Cilento journey that we wish everyone who decides to come to our wonderful Cilento. A special THANK YOU for the wedding cake, a Cilentan-style "pizza roce," a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

30/05/2026: Wow! Finding a non touristy place in Positano is not easily possible. While this is not touristy area their prices truly are but the food is so so amazing. Good - all items we ordered as vegetarian including dessert were wonderful. Reserved the nicest seats before you arrive Bad - they provide shuttle service to your place but we waited for 40 mins and nothing and then when someone shows up they didn’t take us because we are not on their route! We spend $120! And restaurant staff was not helpful at all.

30/05/2026: Came in here in 2016, and returned twice in 2026 when coming back to Positano. The plating won’t wow you, but the taste has you coming back for more. The views are impeccable, and the fact that this family run is inspirational. There are so many flashy and flavour lacking restaurants in Positano - this spot bucks that trend. Simple, tasty and memorable. It’s a long hike up from the action, but absolutely worth it. Also, it’s always easier walking down than up after you eat - especially with a deliciously full stomach. 12/05/2026: Tasty fish and pizza; all the food tastes 10 times better with the olive oil they use here. The waitress is very nice and considerate of the customer's wishes. (Sea bass highly recommended)

They were able to accommodate us inside without reservation ( I’m sure outside was great, but we took it since we were very hungry) great wine and the pizza was absolutely delicious ! I got the Napoli and my partner got the Diavola! Great to re charge some energy. The location is great, the town it’s a little confusing but that was the first route we took and that was the only restaurant on the way. Great choice!

05/05/2026: So nice place! Very quite, beautiful area. I would say hidden gem. There is very nice walking path along the beach next to the restaurant. Not expensive in comparison to others. Very friendly staff! We visited twice during one weekend:)

28/09/2025: Had a great experience. Got the lemon pasta, pizza and dessert. The lemon sponge was great and we got ricotta-stuffed pumpkin flower as a starter on the house as well as limoncello with the bill. Would recommend for dinner if you are staying in Scala, the staff was very kind and attentive.

16/04/2026: The restaurant is welcoming with its modern shapes. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is very kind with you. I appreciated the possibility to see the kitchen, because there aren't walls or any kind of separation. The dishes are great and portions are correct for the price. The menu is not so full of dishes, but everyone of it needs to be tried once upon a time. I strongly recommend this restaurant, mostly if you want to spend an enjoyable evening with your friends or colleges.

16/04/2026: KING OF SPAGHETTI ! What fun to be back in beautiful Salerno ! My wife and I arrived here for a 6 day vacation on Thurs, March 27th after a long private limo drive from Florence. Martin our good friend and limo / tour driver dropped us off a short distance from our 4th floor Airbnb on Corso Vittorio Emanuele....the ( mostly ) pedestrian mall which runs the length of downtown Salerno. We intended to revisit most of the restaurants, cafes and gelato shops we loved during our 4 day visit here 18 months ago...and find some new ones ! In fact during dinner that first night at a very good pizzeria one of the staff suggested Al Dente to us...said it was very good. On Saturday we set off along the pedestrian mall and arrived here around 1.30pm to grab some lunch. THE PLACE WAS PACKED OUT ! As soon as we entered the eatery I ran into Mauro the very friendly manager who seated us at a table immediately...the only one in sight. GREAT VIBE ! Everywhere I looked I could see contented diners enjoying their spaghetti dishes. BEER ! Mauro was the right guy to talk to and brought me an ice cold Mastri Birra Umbri IPA with a tall stem glass straight off the bat. VERY SATISFYING ! This was an American style IPA - 6.5% abv and a pleasure to drink . FOOD ! There was an enormous selection on the menu. My wife ordered BACON AND EGG ( Fresh organic eggs, pecorino romano DOP, Norcia bacon, black pepper ) while I decided on TOMATO AND BACON ( Norcia bacon, San Marzano DOP tomato, Pecorino Romano DOP and black pepper ). POPULAR PLACE ! I noticed that every time a table was vacated it was taken straight away. FAST SERVICE ! Our beautiful looking dishes arrived faster than the bullet train. SPAGHETTI HEAVEN ! Our perfectly made meals tasted extraordinary...these guys have got it down to a fine art. We paid the bill and thanked Mauro the cool manager, Veronica & Giuseppe the kind servers....got selfies of course ! Without a doubt we would have come back again but we had a very full schedule ahead of us. ONE OF OUR BEST DINING EXPERIENCES IN ITALY !

04/05/2026: We stayed at Ravello for 3 nights and this by far was the best restaurant. Quality fine food and excellent service. We had a nice pasta and nice sea bass and excellent wines. A bit more expensive than the other restaurants we visited but well worth the extra 20% as quality was 50% better.

21/01/2026: We're coming back and we cannot wait to eat here again, I was merely setting a reservation, and I figured I would show some love and give another 5-star rating. Completely worth it.
