An absolutely amazing restaurant in Amalfi, superb quality, wonderful service and off the beaten track. Excellent quality for the same price as being charged by the run of the mill places in the centro. Don’t miss it!

Ivo recommended we come here for lunch while visiting Amalfi and he was absolutely correct! Ariana and our waiter (I'm so sorry, I wish I caught his name) took great care of us and were so friendly and attentive. It is tucked away on side roads away from the noisy bustling crowds of tourists, making for a perfectly quiet meal. For an appetizer, my wife and I shared the special of the day, which was a fresh bowl of mussels with a delicious broth of cherry tomatoes and capers. For my main course I had their hand made ravioli stuffed with ricotta and basil served in a tomato basil sauce. The ravioli was perfect and the sauce was so good I finished every last drop with the table bread. My wife had the grilled cod for her main. The cod was flaky and juicy and she was obsessed with the peppers served with it! If you come to Amalfi, you'd miss out if you didn't come here for lunch or dinner

We have never written a review on Google.
This place absolutely deserves to get a review. Everything was really outstanding, from the restaurant and its ambience itself, to the extremely friendly and attentive service, to the very good food. For starters we had mussels in a broth of tomatoes, capers and black olives, as well as homemade pasta with seafood, both excellent quality and exceptionally prepared.
For the main course a fish in our own stock with potatoes and tomatoes and for dessert a cake with lemon cream and a dessert with almond biscuits, mascarpone cream and almond nougat. We also had a bottle of Greco di Tufo and mineral water. All together EUR 155.

The food was very good, “le Linguine alla Buonvicino con colatura di Cetara”, very strange at first but without a doubt a unique dish. We also ordered the “Paccheri ripieni di baccalà alla puttanesca” and it was a success. The brandade was incredible.
The only bad thing is that they don't have house wine and the one they do have is VERY EXPENSIVE! €8 a glass, imagine the bottle😣

I normally don't write reviews, but I'll make an exception for Taverna Buonvicino. Exceptional cooking with a focus on seasonality and freshness - almost like an Italian omakase. I could tell in my first bite that the team here uphold high standards for the quality of their food and overall experience - a clear result of the team's attitude to respect the local ingredients of the season as well as providing friendly but accommodating service to all their guests. I enjoyed lunch so much that I returned for dinner, on my only day in Amalfi, and both times Taverna Buonvicino did not disappoint. Please keep up the good work, and I look forward to revisit again soon! Until next time... Grazie Mille!

We ate here on a recent visit to Rome and Amalfi. We had a delicious meal in their courtyard out front. It's pleasantly off the beaten track and not crawling with (us) tourists. It was one of our favorite meals in Amalfi and would look forward to returning.

We looked at the reviews for this place and checked it out before we went. It was charming. Really lovely. So much so went went the following night. Do give it a visit. We’d definitely return if we had the opportunity.
