15/10/2025: Delicious pizza! Let me vely service, the lady gave us great and confident recommendations with pizza. We enjoyed the food service and atmosphere. We got recommended to come here buy a local and we defiantly recommend it ourselves.

02/09/2025: The biggest drawback I have is that it's quite hot inside (we went in September, so it'll be even worse in the summer), and they only have a small fan. We had risotto and spaghetti carbonara, which were very good, although what we liked most was the cheesecake; it was spectacular.

09/04/2025: Con i miei amici gastronomi, abbiamo scelto la Locanda dell’Abate a Montescaglioso per un pranzo fuori porta. Siamo stati accolti con grande cordialità, e lo chef e titolare, il signor Giuseppe, ci ha guidati nella scelta dei vini per accompagnare l’esperienza. L’antipasto di mare ci ha conquistati con il tentacolo di polpo arrosto e le seppie cotte nel mezzo limone, sprigionando profumi delicati e un perfetto equilibrio tra tenerezza e acidità. Il legame con il territorio si è fatto sentire con la cipolla in agro. I ravioli di pesce, avvolti in una salsa di pomodoro leggermente acidula, hanno offerto un contrasto raffinato, mentre i gamberoni in crosta sono stati semplicemente eccellenti. L’atmosfera raccolta, grazie ai pochi tavoli in sala, ha reso la conversazione piacevole e conviviale. Concludiamo questa esperienza domenicale con un plauso allo chef Giuseppe per l’ottima organizzazione e la qualità delle portate. Torneremo presto!

15/10/2025: Very nice little restaurant, the lemon spritz was very refreshing. The pizza was fabulous, and the bruschetta was our favorite! We tried a small slice of tart, which was also delicious. Very good service. If you're passing through Matera, this restaurant is worth a stop.

04/10/2025: Very pleasant dining experience. Service was to be commended. Staff were friendly, attentive & professional. Food was well executed and tasty. Classic orecchiette with cime di rape, tiramisu and a lovely glass of house white wine. Pizzas on the nearby table looked delicious. Would definitely recommend dining at this restaurant.

15/09/2025: I returned to Senise to greet relatives at an inconvenient time. It was 1:45 PM, and I didn't want to disturb them. I decided to go to Oliver with my wife and son after a long absence. We were welcomed by Andrea and his wife like family. The food was exquisite, the quality of the ingredients excellent, and the service impeccable. Thank you for your welcome. When I return to Senise, we will definitely see you again.

The owner was very kind and friendly, making us feel at ease right away. The place is clean, welcoming, and well-kept. A place that deserves to be known and appreciated. A wonderful discovery that we highly recommend!

13/10/2025: October 12, 2025 - A Meal of Irony First, however, I must offer a few words of praise to Mr. Pino and his family (staff) for welcoming me in the best possible way today for lunch. To Mr. Pino, I simply thank him because, with his politeness, genuineness, and lightheartedness, his ability to convey a love for his work is admirable; things that truly do the soul good. To his staff (family), I can only emphasize their excellent professionalism and friendliness. Why did I describe my meal as "ironic"? Simple, I don't eat fish, but I can't say no to a good plate of spaghetti with clams (delicious). For my second course, since I had a long journey ahead of me, I decided to have the green salad (Bravo! A healthy meal), finishing with a splendid and delicious Chicco di Caffè dessert (And here, I'd say I slipped up) and a classic coffee to round it all off. But before I left, I had the pleasure of chatting with Mr. Pino and "revealing my birthday." Ironically, he wasn't expecting that, and I greatly appreciated both him and his staff wishing me a happy birthday. I plan and hope to return to Mr. Pino's restaurant again, with whom I had the pleasure of spending a small part of my birthday. See you soon. Giuseppe

17/10/2025: Highly recommended. Excellent local Matera cuisine served in generous portions. The staff is courteous and professional. The restaurant is elegant, with cloth-lined tables. The terrace overlooking the Sassi is actually a window, but considering the reasonable prices, it's a restaurant worth trying.

02/07/2025: Siamo stati alla Latteria dietro consiglio e…gran consiglio!! Abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Taglieri, spaghetti san giovannino, guanciale di vitello, tagliata, formaggio alla piastra. Tutto buonissimo. Se andate a Matera alla Latteria non sbagliate.

04/10/2025: Our experience started out great: from the moment we asked if dinner was available, we were struck by the kindness and thoughtfulness with which they responded. Shortly after, we were comfortably seated and immediately felt completely at ease, enjoying a truly enjoyable dinner. All the dishes we tasted were delicious, prepared with top-quality ingredients that brought out the traditional flavors. A huge special mention goes to Mrs. Filomena, a delightful person and excellent hostess whose warmth makes the atmosphere unique. The quality-price ratio was very, very good. Try this trattoria! The experience will certainly be pleasant, and you'll feel welcomed in a warm embrace. We'll definitely be back.

21/10/2025: The view of Matera is very pretty, and at night it's magical. Access is good, but the place is very large, making it impersonal and a bit noisy. The food is good but lacks refinement.

20/10/2025: We dined here as part of the Matera walking tour, and found it to be a very pleasant place with excellent quality dishes. The tour of the cellars was interesting, and compliments to all the staff. Highly recommended!
