15/07/2025: The seafood pairings are excellent, with various ingredients, all top-quality, created by Chef Sebastiano. He's a truly delightful person, and I've known him for many years, as did his father before him. The table service was excellent, with the hostess explaining the various dishes (for example, the smoked mackerel appetizer on a bed of sea asparagus, accompanied by a blueberry and mint jam). It's worth trying and returning. A tip from someone who's known the owners for at least thirty years. 02/07/2025: Always a guarantee of taste! This time I was also surprised by the excellent choice of cider and non-alcoholic beers. The burgers 🍔 always well balanced, the desserts spectacular. The only thing when there are a lot of people there is always a bit of a wait (over half an hour).

01/07/2025: Beautiful brewery including the outside metropolitan garden with the tables, the beers of their production really good, and of various types, the phenomenal and giant hamburgers, luckily they are also open in the morning from 11.00 to 15.00 (something rare nowadays for pubs and breweries) then open in the evening, youthful and friendly service, particular location, the garden is full of very beautiful murals. Stop by recommended P.s. a medium Tatanka beer, a medium Marco Polo beer and a lumberjack hamburger and you're in heaven. 🍺🍺🍔🍟

30/06/2025: Very well-prepared local cuisine even if the menu is relatively limited. Impeccable service even if informal. Limited wine list, but good quality house white wine. Very pleasant atmosphere especially on the outdoor terrace covered by thick climbing arbor. Very positive experience anyway. Highly recommended.

02/07/2025: Excellent restaurant very tidy and clean I went to eat the Valencian paella I found it very good like everything else very nice and helpful staff there was no shortage of seconds in fact the waiters passed by several times I would say really a nice surprise I will definitely return. Very good quality Menu work excellent and abundant

18/06/2025: Very kind owners with considerable experience for at least 40 years. Luxurious and imposing location, impeccable waiters, excellent cleanliness, really delicious food, ideal location for events such as weddings or business dinners because they can really accommodate a large number of people, I think at least 200 and more. Huge parking lot, truly fantastic restaurant with an atmosphere of serenity and harmony......I will return and I highly recommend it!

03/07/2025: Gelato very nice however rude staff having their own conversation when I’m stood there trying to order ice cream. Rude and very ignorant had to speak over them. Good price tho but 4 euro can of coke ? Bit of a piss take

22/06/2025: Se non ti sconvolge bere del vino in un bicchiere di plastica e cenare con piatti e posate biodegradabili, la Sostra è una sorpresa di bontá e quantitá di piatti del Lario davvero eccezionali. L'ambiente informale, conviviale, ha reso piacevole la nostra cena con piatti che non avevamo mai assaggiato, con costi contenuti. Consigliatissimo!👏

14/06/2025: Very simple take away restaurant, lake view in Dervio. They have outside tables, to consume on the spot. Good prices but, fried lake fish to be improved.

13/07/2025: Espacio acristalado en el exterior del hotel, en la plaza, que resulta razonablemente cómodo. Había reservado con antelación nuestra primera noche en Varenna, ya que llegaríamos temprano por la tarde un sábado y queríamos estar seguro de conseguir una mesa. El servicio estuvo bien, al igual que la comida, excepto la lasaña, que fue decepcionante. En general está bien, pero hay muchas otras opciones una vez que hayas visitado Varenna.

22/06/2025: Excellent, we went with 17 people, the whitefish starter in green sauce was superb and then missoltini, grilled shad, whitefish with butter and sage were excellent, but above all the owner Mr. Bodega was very helpful and let you spend your time without stressing that you have to go. Prices were ok, you can't complain. Compliments

20/07/2025: The restaurant is truly beautiful: meticulously crafted, quaint, and with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately captivates. Unfortunately, however, the food and service didn't live up to expectations. The staff was rather slow and unfriendly, with a distant attitude that impacted the overall experience. As for the food, it seemed a bit sketchy, which is hard to justify given the prices. The egg tagliatelle arrived overcooked, topped with an average ragù, but without a trace of the Montevecchia cheeses listed on the menu. When we pointed this out, we were told they were there, but honestly, neither the sight nor the taste were noticeable. A real shame, because the setting has all the potential to offer a memorable experience, but under these conditions, it's hard to recommend.
