03/12/2025: Disturbingly slow... 1 hour late, absolutely not recommended for takeout, shameful! After calling to ask for an explanation, after an hour's delay, I repeat, we were told that the order had been dispatched, which was absolutely untrue given that the pizzeria is less than 5 minutes from our house and the call was made at least 15 minutes ago...
29/11/2025: An hour and a half late with no explanation or apology. I called after half an hour and was told the pizza was in the oven. I called back after another half an hour and was told it hadn't been made yet. A complete joke.
Highly not recommended. If you want to enjoy a peaceful pizza with friends, avoid it.

21/07/2025: To whoever took the order today, July 21, 2025, at approximately 1:10 PM, I would advise them to change jobs so as not to let the Hamburger Restaurant go bankrupt. We ordered two burgers, specifically asking for them to be rare, as overcooked meat is inedible. Bear in mind that there were only four people in the restaurant at the time, so it was empty. The kitchen certainly wasn't working hard. Well, the first one arrived after 5 minutes (an acceptable amount of time), and the second after over 10 minutes, but BOTH OVERCOOKED!!!!
I wanted to be very calm and polite, because workers can make mistakes, and point out to the person who took the order that the burgers were overcooked, almost stringy.
The response?: I'M SORRY, THE KITCHEN FORGOT THEM ON THE GRILL... shrugging and asking the next customer for their order!!!!!!!!
We've been eating there for years with colleagues and friends, but I'll do everything I can to persuade anyone to come and eat there.
I've read some reviews, and based on their approach, what happened to me today isn't an isolated incident!

24/03/2025: Non mi ha accettato un pagamento con il bancomat per un importo di 8,50 euro! .. sono dovuto uscire e prelevare e tornare per saldare, inaccettabile!!!
Esistono metodi di pagamento a commissioni zero sotto i 10 euro, informatevi!
La mia scelta di usare il bancomat è legittima, e sancita da una legge di 10 anni fa.
Non tornerò e dirò a chi conosco di fare lo stesso.

Food was good. Service was great.
Then our €92 bill ballooned to €161.
Seems we were hot with the usual tip, city tax, charges for napkins, cutlery, etc.
Read the reviews. It’s a trend at this place.
30/09/2025: Amazing experience. Food is so fresh. Staff is so attentive. We sat by the water and had a perfect experience. I don’t understand the reviews. If you don’t want to go to a high end restaurants that changes more than the rest of Italy, don’t come to Portofino. 100% worth your money!

10/08/2025: A beautiful place, but unfortunately, given the "standing" it aims to maintain, it falls short in some respects, specifically in the following areas:
- Tables in the gazebos with rust spots
- Side curtains on the gazebo partially missing.
- Dirty/stained sun lounger mattress (we asked for it to be replaced, and it was promptly replaced with apologies for the inconvenience).
- Bathroom hygiene needs updating (lack of toilet paper in the women's bathroom and cleanliness needs improving).
In my opinion, the price paid doesn't match what's offered. Considering that the price for 5 hours (from 2 pm to 7 pm) is €137, I would have expected greater quality and attention to service.
It wouldn't take much, especially considering the number of gazebos (28), to make this beach truly the "gem" and most exclusive beach in Santa Margherita, as advertised.
I'd also like to point out that we purchased a thermal water bottle. It's very nice looking, with the bathroom logo on it, but it doesn't keep the water cold at all, even though it was guaranteed to work properly at the time of purchase.
(Please avoid making any comments without first having verified your claims, to avoid disappointment.)
Regarding the restaurant, since we didn't eat there, I can't express any opinion, but having read the dishes offered and given the location, I feel compelled to give a positive assessment.
Another positive note was the receptionist, who demonstrated courtesy and professionalism.
P.S.: I've changed my rating from 3 to 1 star because I'd like to point out that after just 7 days, the thermal water bottle has rust spots on both the cap and the inside (as shown in the photo). This is absurd; it's unsafe to use, as you risk drinking rust.

01/08/2025: This year, like last year, we chose this beach resort for its proximity to home and the gazebos, but we discovered at the start of the season that the management had changed. We immediately had problems with bookings: we therefore decided to start with a week, from Monday, June 30th to Sunday, and this already created problems because the weekly stay, for which we had been asked to pay €1,250 in advance, could not be made due to the different rates between the months of June and July. Therefore, we immediately paid €1,400 for the Monday of June and the week from Tuesday to the following Monday (July).
Unfortunately, due to force majeure (bad weather), we lost three days of the booked period, so my husband asked the manager if we could make up the days on other days. He was told that we could only make up two, and although we didn't fully agree, we accepted (at €200 per day).
When we rebooked for the two-day make-up session, we were told we were only booking one day, not two.
At that point, we replied that we wouldn't be willing to negotiate like in a Marrakech souk, and that in a €200-a-day establishment, customers deserve a service that's proportionate and worthy of the price they pay.
Bottom line: three paid days wasted and service subpar due to incompetence and a lack of professionalism, but above all, lost customers.

20/11/2025: I had a full kebab piadina and found it overall good. The owner is friendly, and the place is a bit worn but seems clean. There's also a bathroom, which isn't always available in these types of places. I found it fairly clean, but it lacked toilet paper and hand drying paper. I'm still giving it a full 5 stars because I had a good experience, even though, as has happened at other kebab places, I had to listen to a loud Islamic mass broadcast on the restaurant's TV the entire time.
20/09/2025: We were the only customers and we waited too long for our order.
The pizza leaves a lot to be desired: thin crust with too little tomato and not enough toppings.
I don't recommend it.
The welcome was good, but we came to eat.

26/11/2025: Very kind, they even asked if we wanted water from the fridge or not. The Wi-Fi password was conveniently displayed. Quick service. Delicious and plentiful spaghetti. The spring rolls were small and didn't really satisfy me in terms of taste. I'll definitely be back.

24/07/2025: I'm giving it 5 stars because the quality is there. You just need to make the filling consistent. Sometimes there's too little, sometimes just the right amount, and sometimes a lot. Plus, maybe you've changed pastry chef, but the pastries are a bit soft. This is constructive criticism, but you can listen to me if you want.

19/10/2025: It's a shame I didn't read the reviews first and read the owner's responses. I expect anything! >Two spritzes with two bowls of chips, one large and one small, and a small bowl of olives. >We asked if there were toasted sandwiches or tramezzini, but they said only paninis. A loaf of bread with diced ham arrived, divided into three, and I couldn't put a price on it. >Two estathes in a tray and a small bottle of water. Total €39!!! We inevitably asked if he'd refill the chips a couple of times... Inevitable, and I hope it's included in the price, given that the picture outside the restaurant states that aperitivos starting at €9 would include snacks, which obviously never arrived!
The treatment was anything but kind; he was already annoyed when we asked if we could sit down. It's a shame we didn't get up when he made a really unpleasant joke about a 6-year-old. I hope this review helps future non-customers.
19/10/2025: The staff is not very empathetic, especially with children! Poor quality and service, absolutely overpriced!! What a shame!!

25/06/2025: We arrived late, but a piece of focaccia would have been enough… they sat us down.
There was only one first course left: pasta with aubergines, but due to a strong allergy we couldn’t eat it.
We opted for two second courses: dry omelette roll (last available portion) and rubbery and flavourless chicken, but both served with well-cooked potatoes.
We ordered a beer and soda (panaché) and a can of sprite and a small beer in a medium glass arrived.
It makes a better impression to say it’s not there: €5.80 is too much.
Cost: €26.50

01/12/2025: Saturday, November 30, 2025. To celebrate my birthday, I decided to book a table for 18 people after dinner. When we got there, the table wasn't set yet, so they had to make one for me. Plus, it was cramped, so it was a tight squeeze (I don't know what the point of booking in advance was 😂), but let's move on. After we settled in, the staff was practically absent (we were upstairs). At my request, I asked if we could order drinks after a good 20 minutes of being seated (who knows when the girl would have arrived if I hadn't called her).
Once the drinks arrived, we glossed over them and spent the evening in peace.
A few of my friends left early and paid their share at the register.
At the end of the evening, the rest of my friends and I went downstairs to pay; the owner even asked for the money from those who had actually already paid.
Summary: Paid for 2 more drinks than had already been paid for (€20).
A friend of mine: Instead of paying €20 (€10 each), he paid €30 for 2 drinks, leaving the owner pocketing €10. His justification was: "The drinks you ordered cost more than €10 on the menu," which is absolutely not true.
Another friend of mine: He ordered a mojito and sparkling water, totaling €22. As if we were in Venice.
Doing the math, they pocketed more than €40. They'll never see us again, not even with binoculars, these poor people.
