07/11/2025: No visit to Volterra is complete without trying one of these panini. They are traditionally made with great care and attention to detail. The selection is so vast that it's hard to choose. It would be interesting to know how many decades this panini shop has been here.

26/10/2025: Great sandwiches at reasonable prices. You can choose from a selection of pre-made options or create your own. The staff is friendly and eager to help you choose the ingredients. A basic understanding of Italian definitely helped, but it wasn't necessary, as the staff was helpful to everyone. :) I recommend it.

01/10/2025: A great place with a beautiful view. The owner is very helpful and speaks English fluently. The food in the restaurant is delicious. I recommend it for families, a great place for a bike ride because there are great trails nearby.

25/11/2025: Sensational location! A picture-perfect view, beautifully decorated, and with good, if not entirely exceptional, food. We were there on a Monday, when they have live music. A bit loud for conversation, but truly an experience! On top of that, there was an Italian wedding going on, where all the guests were invited onto the dance floor. Just like in a movie! 😀 With such a visually stunning location, we've often experienced that the food was average. That's not the case here. The prices are also reasonable. Highly recommended!

26/11/2025: We ate well, and the service was excellent. But the surprise came with the bill. A €6 cover charge, something I'd never seen before, obviously on the menu sign outside the restaurant, not listed. A tourist trap.

26/11/2025: Found this restaurant by chance, what an amazing place. Atmosphere was sensational and the food was amazing the taste was to die for 👏. The Moroccan chef Kabira came out to talk to us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction and our waiter Hector made our dining experience super pleasant and memorable. Would highly recommend to dine here, whether for a causal lunch or a romantic evening.

04/10/2025: It was a very nice stay. Our little dog ran around with the other dogs, alongside goats, a cat, and a peacock. The apartment was nicely furnished. The surroundings were beautiful, with a magnificent view. If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely stop by again.

20/11/2025: Dining at Il Peschereccio is definitely a fantastic experience! The food, especially the fish, is incredibly fresh and delicious. The restaurant is simple but very clean. We wholeheartedly recommend Il Peschereccio.

09/12/2025: Let me start by saying that whenever I return to Volterra, I'll return to Antica Taverna to give it 5 stars; a place as beautiful as all Tuscan villages manage to be, nestled in their characteristic and stunning alleys! The vast menu with an incredible number of dishes to choose from becomes a daunting task, and that's when a living encyclopedia of the best local dishes comes to the rescue: the legendary waiter, who describes everything in great detail! We enjoyed delicious appetizers and first courses; my only complaint is the fried zucchini flowers and sage, which should have been my highlight of the lunch, but instead was a slight disappointment due to the greasy batter. The prices are quite high, but quality rarely comes cheap.

07/12/2025: We're from Emilia, so you know, we're very picky about food... that said, we were extremely satisfied with the dinner we had. Everything was truly delicious, plentiful, and made with top-quality ingredients... the waiter was extremely kind, incredibly hospitable, and very knowledgeable in explaining the dishes and providing some historical information about the area. If we return to Volterra, we'll definitely eat at Antica Taverna again.

07/10/2025: A very pleasant restaurant with traditional, high-quality Tuscan specialties. We were there for lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were always happy to give advice. The atmosphere is clean, authentic, and traditional, just like the food. We had the ham and melon as a starter. The melon tasted fresh even in October, and the ham wasn't too salty, yet it still had a great flavor and was very tender. The Caprese salad had a truly fresh taste. The pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar) was fantastically delicious. I can absolutely recommend this restaurant. Very friendly service, very good food, a lovely atmosphere, and the price was perfectly reasonable.

31/10/2025: We had coffee and breakfast here every morning. We had a drink every evening. They even sell Unicum. Krisztina, the lady serving, is very nice and attentive. Mainly locals come here. Family atmosphere.

30/10/2025: The position of this restaurant first drew us to it as we wandered around the town. It is stunningly positioned on the ramparts with views to the distant hills and even the sea. Between lunch and dinner it acts as a bar - and there aren't many better places to have a drink. The menu looked interesting, so we came back in the evening and caught a stunning sunset. We also had some excellent food: four different ages of pecorino with local honey and pepper dip, wild boar stew and Tuscan beef washed down with local red wine, all delicious. The service was friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended.
