You can't miss this place if you come to Volterra.
14/04/2026: We popped in for a couple of panini and the owner asked where we were from. He told us he’s from Calabria and has lots of Calabrian products in the store. He let us try a few Calabrian specialties and they were all delicious! Amazing food and lovely service :)

The food was great, high-quality meat.
The fries are made on-site with a potato ricer.
The atmosphere is more like a fast-food joint, but it's okay!

From the drinks—like the delicious grapefruit drink made in Val d'Orcia—to the dishes, you can truly taste the quality of the region.

We wanted a good Florentine steak and I think we couldn't have chosen a better place! It weighed 1.5kg for two and we didn't even notice, it was so good!
Attentive, helpful, and fast service.
The price was reasonable for the quality.
Recommended!

12/03/2026: A beautifully renovated historic building located at the foot of Volterra. I stayed for one night and had dinner there. The rooms are new, spacious, and equipped with every comfort. The restaurant is truly excellent, including a pizzeria. They provided me with a free indoor covered parking space for my motorcycle. In my opinion, it's excellent value for money, both for the room and the restaurant. The owner and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

07/04/2026: We returned after 19 years, and the hospitality and atmosphere here is the same! No staged aperitifs, no arrogance, no whiff of fake aristocracy, no bourgeois conformists. A place far from home that makes me feel at home! I thank Lucio, Bruno, and all the fantastic staff for their uninhibited welcome. A hug to everyone, and always.

04/04/2026: Average quality. Service could be improved, as we were in a separate room from the main one. The owner was very friendly and willing to accommodate our changes. Typical restaurant with healthy Tuscan cuisine. The minced liver was a no-no.

18/04/2026: This has become our favorite place to take friends to eat when they come to Volterra. The 360 views are absolutely magnificent. Wonderful lunch with seasonal dishes. Owners and staff are very nice and extremely accommodating if someone in your group has dietary restrictions. Recommend you call ahead to reserve.

05/04/2026: We ordered the tasting menu, and the food was absolutely not worth the price. All the dishes were flavorless, and the portions were tiny. The flavors overall didn't seem to pair very well. We left the restaurant still hungry and not satisfied with our meal. It's incredible that it's been on the Michelin list for so many years in a row.
The city is pretty, and there are definitely better options.

04/04/2026: It was a truly fantastic meal. The whole family was delighted with the quality of the food. The waiters were also very friendly and welcoming, explaining all the restaurant's specialties. The menu includes typical dishes not found elsewhere. The sweet and spicy wild boar was superb!! We highly recommend it!!!
02/04/2026: I was out with my girlfriend, riding my motorcycle, and we chose this place to eat because it was close to where we'd parked our bike. The place is very welcoming, with an old-fashioned style that fits in well with the town. The waiter was very kind in explaining the tavern's typical and unique dishes and wines, which are what we ordered, and we didn't regret it. Terrine as an appetizer, along with fried artichokes, followed by Etruscan-style pici and sweet and sour wild boar—unusual dishes that absolutely must be tried. If you're passing through Volterra, I recommend stopping by. Since it's a unique menu, it's a little more expensive than usual, but that's to be expected, and it's worth it.

28/03/2026: We went to Don Beta to celebrate a birthday in Volterra: an authentic atmosphere and excellent Tuscan cuisine. The pici cacio e pepe were excellent, and the lampredotto was truly exquisite. We recommend it to our guests and travelers visiting Volterra and Tuscany.
20/03/2026: We came across this place on a Sunday for lunch, without having booked but they still found us a table for 2. The food was excellent from appetizer to dessert and the staff were friendly.

13/03/2026: We stopped for a quick bite to eat in the afternoon after a long day of sightseeing. We found the atmosphere to be familiar and welcoming. The owners are very kind and also love animals; they complimented our dogs so much, and we really appreciated it.
31/10/2025: We had coffee and breakfast here every morning. We had a drink every evening. They even sell Unicum. Krisztina, the lady serving, is very nice and attentive. Mainly locals come here. Family atmosphere.

The hosts were very kind and attentive, and the breakfast was amazing.
04/10/2025: It was a very nice stay. Our little dog ran around with the other dogs, alongside goats, a cat, and a peacock. The apartment was nicely furnished. The surroundings were beautiful, with a magnificent view. If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely stop by again.

26/03/2026: 100% recommended! A small but very cozy place with amazing pizzas! The service was very friendly and the price is great; we had two pizzas and a 1L bottle of water for €19. The best pizza in the area.
21/03/2026: What a joy it was to eat here. Wood fire oven marinara and a nice beer. Excellent service. Simply the best pizza I have ever had.
