Family-run restaurant serving traditional cuisine and some Sicilian dishes.
Friendly staff and prompt service, even when the restaurant is crowded. The wild boar Volterra-style and mushroom crostini are excellent, and the potato ravioli with pancetta and prosecco are excellent.
The wine list offers a wide selection, especially Tuscan wines.
Excellent value for money.

Excellent location for reaching and visiting Volterra and San Gimignano, excellent price/quality ratio as a hotel, very good cuisine, kind and friendly staff.

We had lunch on Easter Monday, 2026. Due to a temporary staff shortage, we waited 45 minutes just to order,
then another 25 minutes for the first course. The saffron risotto with mushrooms and pancetta was exceptional. The fried squid, shrimp, and anchovies were very good and made with fresh fish. The other courses were not worth the price. The grilled meat was poor; a slice of polenta, lettuce, or sliced radishes would have completed the dish. The lack of replacement cutlery between the first course and the second course was very unpleasant. The roar of motorcycles whizzing by on the adjacent road was very annoying. Given the long wait, it would have been nice if coffee had been offered instead of added to the bill.
Would I go back? Not on purpose.

We had lunch at the old mill today. Welcoming hospitality, excellent food, a very nice place. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

A beautifully renovated historic building located at the foot of Volterra. I stayed for one night and had dinner there. The rooms are new, spacious, and equipped with every comfort. The restaurant is truly excellent, including a pizzeria. They provided me with a free indoor covered parking space for my motorcycle. In my opinion, it's excellent value for money, both for the room and the restaurant. The owner and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel/restaurant along the road leading to Volterra from Pomarance, 10 km before Volterra, in the Saline di Volterra area.
Great Florentine steaks, 1 x 2 steaks weighing more than 1.3 kg, 2 first courses, pici, wild boar, and octopus, 2 small carafes of wine, coffee.
Rich and inviting menu, featuring traditional Tuscan dishes.
Friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, wines, bottles, half bottles, glasses, and carafes.
