Family-run restaurant serving traditional cuisine and some Sicilian dishes. Friendly staff and prompt service, even when the restaurant is crowded. The wild boar Volterra-style and mushroom crostini are excellent, and the potato ravioli with pancetta and prosecco are excellent. The wine list offers a wide selection, especially Tuscan wines. Excellent value for money. Recommended!

We had lunch on Easter Monday, 2026. Due to a temporary staff shortage, we waited 45 minutes just to order, then another 25 minutes for the first course. The saffron risotto with mushrooms and pancetta was exceptional. The fried squid, shrimp, and anchovies were very good and made with fresh fish. The other courses were not worth the price. The grilled meat was poor; a slice of polenta, lettuce, or sliced ​​radishes would have completed the dish. The lack of replacement cutlery between the first course and the second course was very unpleasant. The roar of motorcycles whizzing by on the adjacent road was very annoying. Given the long wait, it would have been nice if coffee had been offered instead of added to the bill. Would I go back? Not on purpose.

We had lunch at the old mill today. Welcoming hospitality, excellent food, a very nice place. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

A beautifully renovated historic building located at the foot of Volterra. I stayed for one night and had dinner there. The rooms are new, spacious, and equipped with every comfort. The restaurant is truly excellent, including a pizzeria. They provided me with a free indoor covered parking space for my motorcycle. In my opinion, it's excellent value for money, both for the room and the restaurant. The owner and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel/restaurant along the road leading to Volterra from Pomarance, 10 km before Volterra, in the Saline di Volterra area. Great Florentine steaks, 1 x 2 steaks weighing more than 1.3 kg, 2 first courses, pici, wild boar, and octopus, 2 small carafes of wine, coffee. Rich and inviting menu, featuring traditional Tuscan dishes. Friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, wines, bottles, half bottles, glasses, and carafes.

25/06/2026: A great place we visited during our stay in Volterra, where we sampled Tuscan specialties. The dish we ordered, "Il pesce povero," was an interesting combination of fish appetizers and paired well with the Vernaccia di San Gimignano I Mocali Riserva 2022 DOCG white wine. The lampredotto in zimino con bietole in salsa di pomodoro, braised beef stomach served with chard in an aromatic tomato sauce, also made a big impression. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and allowed us to experience the authentic flavors of Tuscany. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend it.

09/05/2026: We found this place somewhat by chance, and we immediately fell in love with it. We spent a family evening dining on Chianina burgers/pulled pork sandwiches for the little ones, and sliced ​​pork with potatoes for the adults. The flavor of the meat was truly excellent, and we also appreciated the fact that they brought us some cold cuts as a sampler while we waited for our meat. Furthermore, the butcher's presentation of the meats we chose was truly appreciated, especially as it showed customers the quality of the product being processed. We finished it all with citrus sorbet for the kids and a delicious tiramisu made on the spot for the adults, both truly delicious. Everything was excellent, from the quality of the products to the service, which promptly came to check on us and that everything was going smoothly. Our average bill was around €30, a more than fair price for such a delicious meal. See you soon!
