La Vena di Vino In Volterra

We didn't get anything to eat, we only got something to drink. If you want to hang out with the locals it's a good place service was really good

A great place we visited during our stay in Volterra, where we sampled Tuscan specialties. The dish we ordered, "Il pesce povero," was an interesting combination of fish appetizers and paired well with the Vernaccia di San Gimignano I Mocali Riserva 2022 DOCG white wine. The lampredotto in zimino con bietole in salsa di pomodoro, braised beef stomach served with chard in an aromatic tomato sauce, also made a big impression. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and allowed us to experience the authentic flavors of Tuscany. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend it.

We returned after 19 years, and the hospitality and atmosphere here is the same! No staged aperitifs, no arrogance, no whiff of fake aristocracy, no bourgeois conformists. A place far from home that makes me feel at home! I thank Lucio, Bruno, and all the fantastic staff for their uninhibited welcome. A hug to everyone, and always. Average quality. Service could be improved, as we were in a separate room from the main one. The owner was very friendly and willing to accommodate our changes. Typical restaurant with healthy Tuscan cuisine. The minced liver was a no-no.

The gin and the Fusion Canapone are both great gins!
