07/02/2026: Friendly atmosphere with helpful and friendly staff. Welcoming and very cheerful. Places with a wide selection of both classic Neapolitan beers with a crust and low-fat ones. Excellent product quality. Decent selection of bottled beers, in addition to the standard, bland commercial beers, you can also try something unique. Private parking is available, which is another plus. The fixtures in the only bathroom could use a little updating; they're a bit worn, but they're clean. Overall rating: Given the simplicity of the setting and the features, I give it a 8 1/2 recommended. P.S. Another VERY IMPORTANT aspect: they also make gluten-free pizza.

02/01/2026: Excellent pizzeria just outside the center of Porcari. The pizza is very good, and you can choose between a thick crust or a regular crust. The toppings are excellent, and the delivery time is reasonable. The prices are slightly higher than other pizzerias, but that's acceptable given the quality. The staff is also friendly and helpful. The place isn't huge inside, but it does have a nice outdoor patio. I highly recommend it!

25/07/2026: We stumbled upon Irene's bar by chance, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The waiters and waitresses were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We ended up staying all evening. Plus, we were offered a platter of appetizers with chips—what more could you ask for? I highly recommend this very local bar!

08/06/2026: Excellent. We had dinner here one evening when we were just getting our bearings in Viareggio. Happened to go here with no recommendations and so happy with did. From start to finish we had a great time. Staff were chatty and very attentive, food was full of flavour and perfectly timed. Atmosphere was wonderful. The owner/chef Luca is an incredibly nice gent. When he found out we are irish he was very welcoming to us and couldnt have been more pleasant as were all the staff we dealt with. Will happily return when back in Viareggio.

02/06/2026: Terrible food. We had sea bass with grilled vegetables, and the eggplant was mushy, practically rotten. The carrots were boiled and grilled. The pasta with clams was precooked, truly terrible.

06/08/2026: I went to this place to celebrate a birthday, but I'll never go back! The house wines are undrinkable, the food is poor quality, and the outside area, where the dinner was set up, is truly awful.

03/08/2026: Passing through on our way back from the mountains, due to delays than expected, we looked for a restaurant offering simple, affordable dishes. It was late and on a Friday. The place was packed, but they welcomed us warmly. It's a family-run establishment—I believe it's part of a sports club—with a huge, cool, and charming patio. The menu is typical of a restaurant/brewery/pizzeria (they also do takeout). We ordered just one garnish (a grilled meat dish), for two, with an extra side. They offered us some excellent prosciutto and focaccia, while we had a slightly longer wait for our order. Once we ordered, we were served promptly. The grilled food was simply perfect, very plentiful and varied, and, like others we've seen, we had the leftovers wrapped up. The staff is courteous and helpful. When it comes to paying, the prices are more than fair—I'd say affordable. For the type of place, it's more than adequate. Passing through Lucca, we'll definitely return.

17/07/2026: The pastries are good, there's free parking adjacent for about 10 cars, and the place is clean with a few tables. I think they work more with the counter or express service. Unfortunately, despite my friendliness, they didn't even give me a smile... I must have been on a bad day. Already at 8...

30/05/2026: Bar Chiara is one of the best places in my town; I've had the opportunity to go and have a good coffee; I haven't tried their food yet. For people who use this place for a quick lunch for work, I think it's ideal. Good luck, owners! May this business last for many years to come. Petro61.

19/05/2026: Frankly, I don't understand all the positive reviews I've read... Maybe you have to come during high season, but it's still unacceptable. The typical trattoria atmosphere may be pleasant, very vintage, '70s/'80s style (dirty, definitely needs better cleaning), but the service was appalling. It felt like a burden; the lady was really pissed off. No menu, no prices displayed. In the end, we ordered tordelli with ragù (one of three options, since there was nothing left to eat). They were good, but definitely not cooked on the spot, but rather reheated in a pan, since they were lukewarm, almost cold. The bread was probably two or three days old. There were two of us, and we spent €32 for a plate of tordelli and a bottle of water, all washed down with stale bread. Never again!
