08/04/2026: I made a reservation by phone 2 days in advance, letting them know that my wife is vegan. "No problem, we're equipped." The result: NOTHING on the menu. The embarrassed waiter said, "I can make a salad without the egg and mozzarella."!!! That's not going to work. You could have told me, we would have stayed at the Agriturismo!

06/04/2026: This is our second time staying at this property. The location is wonderful, nestled in the woods, and the food is excellent. However, our disappointment lies with the reception staff. They were rude and incompetent for no reason! I highly recommend it. The reception service could be improved.

Dessert: I had a pine nut brick, topped with black cherry, which was delicious 🤤 Even though the place was packed, the service was pretty quick and the staff were very friendly. I've been there before and will definitely be back!

25/03/2026: I can only speak about the bar, and its location, on Livorno's old canals, which is precisely why I discovered it: it's at the embarkation point for the boat tour. The assortment of coffee varieties is astonishing, and with this, it lives up to the centuries-old tradition of Livorno, a key trading port in the Mediterranean centuries ago, when spices were the true treasure. The service is fast and competent, and I see a more than varied selection of wines by the glass, also unusual. The name is no coincidence: Madiba, in honor of Nelson Mandela, the Great Guiding Soul.

15/04/2026: Three of us arrived without a reservation, and despite it being packed, they were extremely kind and seated us within minutes. The menu is extensive and of great quality, and the wine pairing is top-notch. A must-visit for fish and shellfish lovers.

05/04/2026: We used to come here a few years ago and it was good, we came back yesterday and we were disappointed, disappointed is an understatement... Really tiny dishes and high prices, we all left hungry, even the children... shameful, pasta with clams with 7/8 clams and not even 80 grams of pasta, penne with scampi with 2 scampi, dishes from 17 euros 18 euros.... the fried food was ridiculous given how small it was... they will never see us again

18/04/2026: The food is good and cheap...but the problem is that there were two of us and they didn't serve us together...so it was like eating alone at home!! The meat was excellent...the fish lasagna was excellent...but the fried fish was terrible...we couldn't talk because of the noise!! It's not a place for couples 😉

21/03/2026: I went to lunch today with a group of friends at this trattoria I'd heard so much about. The menu is 15 euros for a first course, second course, and side dish. More than the food, you'll remember the experience for the staff, especially Michele, who keeps you on track with his voice and amazes you with his memory. He doesn't write down; he listens, memorizes, and never misses a beat! The fixed price is truly inviting, the portions are generous, the house wine is good, and the punch is very good! We had a great time, even though the wait was long. I recommend booking, otherwise you're out of luck.

13/04/2026: Found it based on some reviews. I thought it would be better, but still adequate. First courses rated... "not adequate." Main courses were better, fried fish was good, fish cooked with "clean" oil. There were 4 of us and a dog. Average price. Clean restrooms. Very difficult to find parking, but after some time we found it on the street, and of course, there are paid blue lines, and not nearby. It's located opposite Livorno's old market.

06/04/2026: Today we happened to be in Campiglia Marittima and at lunchtime we stumbled upon the Delizie di Mare fishmonger. We hadn't booked, and the lady very kindly found us a table. We ate wonderfully, the fish dishes were fabulous, as was the service. When it came time to pay, we were pleasantly surprised: we spent €59.00 for two.

22/03/2026: A kiss on the forehead from the owners. A Sunday in mid-March. Not many people around. We found this place by chance on our cell phone while staying at the Venturina spa, a few kilometers away. We sampled some excellent appetizers, especially the tuna porchetta. The good thing was that, unlike usual, the pickled ingredients had little vinegar taste, and everything was very pleasant. Then spaghetti alla chitarra with lupini beans for my wife, and spaghetti with sea urchin for me. Everything was delicious; the sea urchin was very flavorful, and there were tons of lupini beans, all with the fruit inside! Not like in many restaurants, where you eat spaghetti with the shells. We could have exploded right there, but I wanted the mussels... fabulous, delicious with a sauce enough to finish off a kilo of bread. We stopped here because going further was difficult, almost impossible. We'll definitely return. Oh, three things: the place is cute with the vaults covered in sea shells, there's no bathroom, but you can use the one in the nearby bar, and finally, come on an empty stomach!!!
