03/02/2026: My partner and I booked a table here for one evening during our stay on Elba Island in June 2023. I should start by saying we don't know what the restaurant is like inside, as we dined on the covered veranda overlooking the sea, which was very pretty. The staff was friendly, but not at all professional or knowledgeable. The service was clumsy and bordering on ridiculous. We ordered two plates of seafood linguine; the pasta was overcooked, and the fish was visibly frozen (which I couldn't understand, given that Rio Marina is located by the sea and Elba offers a wide variety of fresh seafood everywhere). Everything was way too salty, wallowing in the watery sauce. The bottle of wine we ordered wasn't available, so we relied on the waitress. The wine was good. The fried fish was extremely salty and overcooked; we had to leave it because it was inedible. We finished with two terrible coffees, but they didn't ruin the dinner we'd just finished. The bill arrived, if possible, more expensive than the dishes listed above. A real disaster. I never write negative reviews, but that dinner ruined the rest of the evening, and we were annoyed that, even though we hadn't eaten anything, no one bothered to ask what the problem was. I don't recommend it.

20/09/2025: The food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately, the service was completely understaffed and overwhelmed. But the food was very good.

20/01/2026: The food was delicious; we had pasta with seafood and tortellini with wild boar ragout. Everything tasted great—but the pasta came with Parmesan cheese from a bag that was just sitting on the plate—and this was in Italy! Absolutely unacceptable! The staff was friendly and helpful.

04/10/2025: The rooms were very dirty, and we were left without water for 5 hours. All the rooms didn't meet our expectations. The owner was very rude, demanding cash upon arrival before showing us the rooms. There were 13 of us, including our motorcycles.

12/01/2026: The dishes didn't live up to the very beautiful location. The spiciness was too much, covering the flavor of the fish and the dish. In fact, to be honest, the flavor of the fish was very, very mild. The staff was very friendly and the prices were fair.

08/01/2026: I had been to this restaurant years ago and returned to see if it was still like this. Everything was really good, excellent food, professional and very knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere was beautiful. I will be back.

20/10/2025: The bar and restaurant is a historic establishment on the island, family-run. The atmosphere is simple, a bit dated, as is the service. However, the dishes are exquisite: excellent, fresh fish, well-prepared, and the side dishes are also excellent. The wine list doesn't feature inexpensive items, aside from the house wine, but there are also exquisite island wines served by the glass, which allowed us to keep our spending down a bit. The prices are average: quite high, but, as we all know, fresh fish is expensive, and everything on the islands is inevitably more expensive.

18/10/2025: It's located near the main square in town. The restaurant is simple, and the indoor terrace is open during this time of year, while in the summer there's also an outdoor one. The cuisine, primarily seafood, is simple but carefully selected. The wine list is unique in offering island wines that aren't always easy to find. We tasted both glasses of rosé, with a touch of Aleatico, and the fragrant Vermentino. For starters, we had excellent maniche with octopus sauce, followed by the freshest grilled and Sicilian-style swordfish. The side dish of roasted peppers (peeled, well-seasoned, and delicious) was excellent. Lemon sorbet was served to finish. The service was impeccable, and the owners were very helpful, and we even had a friendly conversation after dinner. We were tempted by the super-fresh swordfish, but many told us the fried fish is also a real specialty: maybe next time. (Price, including glasses of wine, €120 for two). Recommended, see you next time.

26/08/2025: A truly positive experience The place doesn't have a sea view, but it's right on the sea, away from the crowds and noise. You don't see the sun set, but the moon rise. The pizza and schiacciatine are excellent, because the pizza chef has, I'd say, thirty years of experience!!! The owners are kind and professional, and the waitress is attentive and friendly. Highly recommended

16/07/2025: I don't usually write reviews, but in this case, I think everyone should know where they're going and not be misled by other people's good reviews. My family and I came at lunchtime to eat together—there were five of us. However, we couldn't order anything other than sandwiches. We asked for mojitos: two with alcohol and two without. The mojitos had spoiled mint and stale lemon. The drink tasted disappointing and was unpleasant. We addressed the issue with the bartender, but received only negative comments. Furthermore, the service was disgusting: the women were unfriendly and rude. I don't recommend this cafe. I usually don't write reviews, but this time I feel that everyone should know where they are going and not be misled by the good reviews of others. 05/10/2025: Great place for an aperitif! Six of us went on a Friday evening in October and were greeted by friendly, competent staff who took our order and brought our drinks outside where we were comfortably seated on the sofas in the lovely square, surrounded by trees. The setting is beautiful, comfortable and classy. There's a good selection of drinks and you can help yourself to whatever you fancy from the buffet. At around € 6 per person for food and drink it's excellent value for money.Totally recommend!

01/10/2025: We arrived at Cantina Elbana at 6:30 p.m. and were able to get a table right away. The waiter was initially a bit surprised by our early arrival, but he was very friendly and spoke some German, so communication was easy. The ambiance is typically Italian: cozy, with good music and an open kitchen behind the bar – very authentic. The menu isn't extensive, but it's excellently curated. For starters, we had a cold seafood platter – highly recommended and perfectly portioned. For the main course, we had spaghetti uova di riccio di mare (fantastic, slightly spicy, and perfectly seasoned), ragu di pesce spada (excellent), and paccheri cacciuccatti for our son. A particularly positive aspect: the waiter suggested a half portion, which was still generous, but delicious! Since the portions aren't overly large, there was room for dessert. Unfortunately, three of the seven desserts were unavailable, but the cheesecake with jam and the chocolate cake with cream were delightful. The only minor drawback: While we were eating, the kitchen was washing up, and a strong-smelling cleaning agent was used for a short time, which somewhat spoiled the experience. In summary: Fantastic food, authentic ambiance, and friendly service – we left very satisfied and full. Highly recommended!

22/09/2025: The place was quite neglected, dirty, and truly depressing. We had a reservation, but our table wasn't ready. Stained tables and rickety chairs. They placed us right next to a black rat crate, absolutely horrible!!! The outside area was not even clean!!! Among the filthy gravel were cigarette butts, paper, chewing gum, etc. We had to wait 55 minutes for 3 pizzas, which to call pizzas is a stretch, given that they were oval, with hard, extremely thick crust, almost impossible to cut, and INDIGESTIBLE!! We then had to pay the bill in two installments because the beers are charged separately. (HEY...) The positive comments are proof that people are satisfied with less, eat like dogs, don't see what's going on around them, and can't make a truly fair judgment. If that's the case, I can't even begin to imagine what the kitchens are like... I strongly advise against it.

30/08/2025: We tried Pinsa for the first time and it was amazing. Its much better than classic pizza, feels crunchier and more fluffy. Don’t be afraid to try unconventional variations- we had a pinsa with salami and fig marmalade. Thank you for delicious food, great service and experience.

14/10/2025: We had lunch at this beautiful place. Excellent ingredients, fabulous tortelli. The highlight was also the courtesy and kindness of the hostess, welcoming and kind. Thank you so much, we'll be back.

27/08/2025: Very simple but decent food. The only serious flaws: the waitress's lack of sociability (perhaps too young and inexperienced) and the truly obscene and uncomfortable seating (the kind we all have in our storage room when we have unexpected and numerous guests).

15/11/2025: When you think you know a thing or two about pizza and then suddenly THIS happens. After cycling nearly 440 km through Tuscany, we were looking for a place to eat together before leaving. There were several very good dishes on offer, but this pizza was a real surprise. With its location, amazing food, and friendly people, this restaurant comes highly recommended.
