17/06/2025: Sandwich shop where you choose your sandwich! From bread with oil, to the one with sesame seeds to the tigella. Various types of meat, vegetables or cheeses to add, the classic French fries or other sides. Or there are a couple of menus (one for €11 and the other for €13) already pre-filled with ingredients added by them. There are few seats outside, a little more inside. The staff is very kind and helpful. Recommended at least once if you pass by Empoli.

26/06/2025: We stayed at the campsite for two weeks (end of May/beginning of June) and stayed in a mobile home. It was our first campsite vacation, and we loved it. The facility is very well-maintained, and everything you need for a vacation is within walking distance. The beach is also within walking distance—you practically just have to cross the street. We were also lucky that the entertainment program started at the end of May. The Just Friends Animazione team, which initially consisted of only four people, was simply fantastic. Chiara, Peppe, Samu, and Weronika demonstrated every day with full energy that they truly enjoy their jobs. Chiara, in particular, who was responsible for the children's entertainment (10 a.m.-12 p.m., 4 p.m.-6 p.m., and Baby Dance), made sure our three-year-old daughter had a wonderful stay. The program was varied, and she was fully involved ❤️ We would come back again just for the entertainment.
26/06/2025: Beautiful campsite. The restroom facilities are decent. The evening entertainment is extremely loud and goes on until 11:30. It's generally very loud in the evening and into the night. We find this very annoying, so we wouldn't come back. It's a shame, because the rest of the campsite was otherwise great.

15/06/2025: I never write reviews but after yesterday I would like to say two things. It had been about last summer since I had been back for dinner at this place and then I decided to come, driven by the fact that the 7-8 times I have been here in the space of two years I have always had a great time, and I want to underline this. Excellent choice of wines, raw materials, friendly but professional service, meat, fish, vegetarian, vegan dishes etc., including a vegetarian platter, the “Orto Vadese”, the reason for my review, which is described in this way: ”vegetarian or vegan cutting board, summary of the most requested recipes on the menu with some extras” The dish in question was composed, starting from the bottom right in the photo, of: a radish cut into 4, two strips of raw cucumber, a small bowl of olives, two pieces of fennel, a corn cob cut in half, ONE broccoli florets and ONE cauliflower, a cherry tomato in the bowl in the middle, a toothpick with 4 pieces of potato (I think they are good potatoes, a recipe from their menu) and a small vegetarian meatball. So: there was almost nothing of the “most requested” recipes on the menu, except ONE vegetarian meatball and a toothpick with 4 pieces of potato. The rest was a side dish, even a poor one. All this for the modest sum of €18, not that it is an exaggerated price in general, but it is since it is the most expensive dish on the menu. I pointed this out to the waitress, a girl who is always very kind, and she called the manager, so I explained my doubts to him, that is, that paying that amount for a dish that is practically a more refined side dish seemed strange to me, and I didn't tell him this by chance, but strong in the fact that last June I had the same dish and it was FULL of stuff, all good, now I don't remember exactly what was in it but I left really satisfied. Maybe it cost a little more but I mean, I would have preferred to pay €21 and eat than €18 and ruminate. The manager justified himself by talking about the "food cost" of the raw materials and the different preparation techniques, and of course, the quality of what they offer is the reason why I often came to dinner here. Let's start with the food cost: certainly high because maybe taken from the small organic farmer etc etc. but if on the plate you put ONE broccoli florets, ONE cauliflower, two pieces of cucumber, a radish, a corn cob, a meatball and two potatoes, can you justify yourself by talking about the cost? How much can the actual cost of a similar dish be??? Preparation techniques: they produce the meatballs and potatoes "on scale" because they are very popular dishes so they don't have a specific time dedicated only to them for the preparation of the dish. The cherry tomato is cut, as well as the cucumber and the radish, the olives are bought good and put in the bowl, a presumed specific cooking is required for the other vegetables, he told me for example: "the fennel is cooked separately" and where should it be cooked in the potato water?? Then there are a whole series of sauces here and there, however very good, that certainly require preparation but I don't think they are used only for one dish. However, he did not give in to my complaint and rightly did his part by defending the local dish, but perhaps by reading these lines he will realize that I am not entirely wrong, otherwise I would not be here writing an essay. I want to point out that he offered to change it for me, but I did not want to wait and I had also lost a bit of hunger, which came back later since in the end my dinner was made up of some fried vegetables and two vegetable meatballs from the appetizer (he has 4 but we split it), the potato stick and another meatball from the dish in question, but I probably would have left still a bit hungry even if I had finished the main course. In conclusion: appetizers, fried vegetable basket, and vegetarian meatballs, main courses, Vadese vegetable garden and beef peposo, water and a wine for €26, total €70.

22/06/2025: Terrace practically on the sea. The fish cooked sublimely. We ate a cacciucco (upon reservation) excellent. The only thing we didn't try was the pizza...but it looks great.
22/06/2025: Very good food, I took the fried Elba style and I was satisfied. I would have appreciated it if it had been a little less greasy because that made it heavier. Absolutely to be taken in at least 2 because the portion is large. For the rest everything fantastic!

22/04/2025: Excellent hotel. Paradise for those who needs Gluten Free kitchen. Great place to have 3 generations holiday. Grandparents in a suit and children and grandchildren in an apartment ( there are 4) .It is not a fancy hotel and it feels like home, also because of the attitude of the staff, Good location to visit both Toscana's wine route, as well as all main cities Very good breakfast and also a very good restaurant on site. For sure we will come again

28/04/2025: Bisognerebbe trovare un modo per rendere "perenne " i locali come questo, il calore e buon gusto della location abbinato ad una sapiente e solida cucina locale fanno della osteria la Brocca un vero punto di riferimento. Venerdì scorso è stata la prima di numerose visite. Bravissimi!
28/04/2025: Allora era anni che non ci tornavo... siamo stati nella veranda veramente bruttina e non si riusciva a parlare... abbiamo preso 2 secondi e una bottiglia di vino.. conto da 80 euro senza ricevuta. Boh cibo presentato malino però pesce abbastanza fresco unica pecca pieno di spine. Come fatto a casa. Siamo un po' rimasti del conto perché almeno ci poteva fare un minimo di sconto pagato in cash senza ricevuta e per quell'ambiente rumoroso dove ci avevano infilato. E sinceramente con 2 piatti e un vino da 20 euro a 40 Euro a persona trovi un sacco di ristoranti in centro a pietrasanta. Peccato non ci ritorneremo!

31/05/2025: Magical. Amazing building. Lovely rooms. Great staff. A perfect couple of days to start our Tuscany vacation. The breakfast was really special with the scent of the fireplace and a wonderful range of options. Shout out to the bartender Riccardo. He treated us so well. The hotel is set in the hills outside Siena and is a really nice walk in to town.
08/05/2025: Within the walls of the Certosa di Maggiano, Blessed Pietro Petroni spent his life, which was studded with miraculous events, harsh discipline and exemplary obedience. Born in Siena in 1311, Pietro stood out from a young age for his dedication to others, dedicating himself to caring for the sick and lepers of the city. At the age of seventeen, against the will of his parents, he embraced the life of a hermit in the Certosa di Maggiano. During his monastic life, Pietro Petroni was the protagonist of numerous mystical visions and prodigious events that gave him the reputation of a miracle worker. His intercession, according to popular devotion, was believed to be capable of performing miracles, attracting crowds of faithful and increasing his celebrity. However, the fame and clamor that came from it contrasted with the severity and quiet of the Carthusian life, marked by silence and meditation. At the invitation of the Prior of the Certosa, Pietro Petroni, in an act of exemplary obedience, decided to renounce his thaumaturgical activities, so as not to disturb the harmony of the monastic community. The renunciation of miracles did not compromise the sanctity of Pietro Petroni, which manifested itself in a life of profound devotion and rigorous discipline. His fame, although deprived of the clamor of the miraculous, spread silently, fueling the veneration of the faithful. Affected by obesity, Pietro Petroni died prematurely in 1361. His nickname, "Petrone", derived from his disproportionate size, became almost a surname, sealing his memory as a champion of obedience, a virtue that, in the eyes of the faithful, took on a value equal, if not superior, to that of miracles. Hagiographic tradition tells that, fifteen days before his death, Pietro Petroni confided some prophecies to his brother Gioacchino Ciani, including the condemnation to hell of some personalities, including Boccaccio, if they did not change their conduct of life. Another legend tells that the monk cut off the index finger of his left hand to make himself unfit for the priesthood, considering himself unworthy of such an honor. Pietro Petroni is venerated as blessed by the Catholic Church and his liturgical memorial is May 8. The painter Daniele Crespi depicted him with scissors in his hand, a symbol of his act of self-harm, in the Certosa di Garegnano in Milan.

03/05/2025: Einfaches, typisches kleines und sehr leckeres italienisches Restaurant, mit vollkommen ausreichender Speisekarte nur wenige Meter vom Piazza del Campo entfernt. Leckere Pasta und Bruschetta und zum Nachtisch Tiramisu und Espresso. Man fühlt sich als ob man im Esszimmer der Familie sitzt, hat einen Blick in die Küche mit den großen Töpfen auf dem Gasherd, sehr freundlicher und sympathischer Service - sehr familiär. Wer den Schnick-Schnack nicht mag ist hier goldrichtig.
