08/10/2025: Before booking this place, I was honestly intrigued, especially by the name. Then I looked at the website and the reviews, and so I booked. I have to say, it's a small, excellent restaurant run by a truly kind and knowledgeable gentleman. He exudes passion and explains the dishes with great care. I ordered the pappa al pomodoro, and I admit that before coming here, I didn't even know what it was... And I have to say, I loved it. My wife ordered the ribbolita, another delicacy. What can I say? If you want to eat truly well, this is the place for you, both for the variety of delicacies and, last but not least, the very reasonable prices.

06/10/2025: This restaurant is nestled in one of the most photographed alleys in Cortona and represents everything you think about Italy, character, beauty, and uniqueness. The food and drinks are all prepared to the highest quality and originality. Vegetarian entrees elevated on both flavor profile and plating. The creativity of each entree are truly noteworthy. There were six in our party which allowed for each of us to try a different option and share with each other. My favorite is the tartare, both visually and taste profile, it's fireworks on a plate, it just makes you happy looking at it and eating it continues that happiness. I highly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.

16/01/2026: I'm only reviewing the hotel here. We stayed here for three nights during our trip to Italy. The location and the view are fantastic! The transfer from the hotel's own parking lot in the Piaggio Ape is quite an adventure. Unfortunately, the hotel has seen better days. While the rooms have been renovated, they could have invested more in soundproofing! It's extremely noisy; you can hear every word from the corridor and even when your neighbor goes to the bathroom. The room doors also slam quite loudly; they could easily adjust the door closers! Breakfast is typical for Italy: lots of sweets and some rolls, cold cuts, cheese, and fruit. Some of the fruit was quite overripe, especially the oranges. Some of the hotel's bicycles were broken, missing saddles or with flat tires.

01/03/2026: A real experience! Excellent Tuscan restaurant at Michelin level! We arrived at Taverna de Merlino on Sunday evening. We ate a dish from every section on the menu. The service was excellent, Natalie was kind, pleasant, professional and quick. The bruschetta was simply out of this world. We chose a bruschetta mix, my wife is vegetarian so Natalie personally adapted this dish for us and it was simply excellent. Then we ate an excellent leaf salad that came with apples and nuts. Then we ordered pasta which was in my opinion the best pasta we have eaten so far in Italy - fresh, made correctly, not too oily and not too lean, just right. We also ordered a steak which was excellent but we were less enthusiastic about it, we should have stuck to the Italian dishes. We ordered a panna cotta dessert with almond flakes and caramel which was crazy! And the price - simply amazing, 57 euros for all this! I will definitely come back here again!

01/03/2026: We went here for lunch for my graduation dinner. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, portions were just right, and the price was reasonable for what we ate. We were seated under the pergola, which added a bright and colorful touch to the rest of the room. Highly recommended. A year later, we returned to celebrate the anniversary. Another wonderful lunch, 10/10. The photos I've attached are from this second lunch. Highly recommended.

16/03/2026: We celebrated our wedding in Tuscany on August 30, 2025 at Agriturismo Belaggagio and it was absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, Giorgio supported us tremendously with the preparation, coordination, and planning. He was always reachable, incredibly thoughtful, and truly committed to making all of our wishes possible. The planning process was very well organized, with clear presentations of options and great advice. Giorgio also helped coordinate with other vendors and supported us in finding the right service providers, which made the whole process much easier for us. The venue itself is beautiful: wonderful grounds, very well maintained and decorated with great attention to detail. The rooms are lovely, cozy yet modern, and the entire place has a warm, very family-like atmosphere. Even if you don’t speak Italian, everyone makes you feel immediately at home. The team was amazing on the wedding day. Despite a short rain shower before the ceremony, they handled everything perfectly – even setting up and rearranging things twice so that everything could still happen as planned. Their dedication and flexibility were truly impressive. The homemade food, buffet, and drinks were outstanding, and the overall service throughout the stay was fantastic. There are also many services included, which makes planning much easier. Thanks to Giorgio and the entire team having everything under control behind the scenes, we were able to fully focus on enjoying our special day. The atmosphere, the celebration, and the positive energy of the team made it unforgettable. We couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Annika & Maurice
