18/04/2025: Il ristorante a Portoferraio dove amiamo venire ogni volta che arriviamo… Pesce freschissimo, cucina deliziosa e verace, un tripudio di tradizione, expertise, e sapori unici! La pasta fresca fatta sempre da Anna è un MUST! I frutti di mare sono un delizia!!! L’accoglienza di Salvatore e della sua squadra (grazie Marco!) sono la ciliegina sulla torta di un posto UNICO! Very fresh fish, delicious and authentic cuisine, a riot of tradition, expertise and unique flavours! The fresh pasta always made by Anna is a MUST! The seafood is a delight!!! The welcome of Salvatore and his team (thanks Marco!) are the icing on the cake of a UNIQUE place! Seeing is believing... You will be enchanted... We leave tomorrow and we can't wait to return! 20/12/2024: Rustic but welcoming environment, a simple trattoria whose furnishings (marble tables, stone floors, wooden chairs) are reminiscent of old taverns. There were 5 of us and we ate 2 starters of cured meats with olives, gherkins and pickled onions.3 plates of tagliolini, and stewed rabbit with olives, with fried vegetables (fennel and artichokes) all washed down with good red wine. The appetizers were good, the Taglierini were excellent, the rabbit was excellent. The fried vegetables were a bit scarce, but they were digestible. At the end, the good coffee by the glass with cantucci and walnuts was appreciated. We were enticed by seeing the dishes of green tagliatelle with ragù from the nearby tables. We will be sure to come back to come and taste them. Fair and economical price, affordable even for those with a limited badge.

20/04/2025: Un ristorante che non delude mai! Uno dei piatti nuovi in menù, la tagliata di Ombrina, e’ uno dei piatti di pesce migliori che abbiamo mai assaggiato! Complimenti allo Chef e al suo team!

02/04/2025: Local with a courtyard both welcoming. You can taste wines both by the glass and in the bottle, even outside those offered on the menu. All accompanied by cutting boards or other alternatives if desired. They also do tasting events by reservation. The owner is a kind and helpful person.

02/05/2025: Place recommended by girls met around, because it's very busy. When we arrived we didn't find much movement, inside half empty, we took some craft beers because they were not available on tap. To eat there were only Venetian cicchetti to pay separately... in short, average, high expectations a little disappointed

21/04/2025: Almost like an East London cafe in Lucca! Suggested by locals (if not probably will try something looks more “Authentic Italian”) best place to chill with wine and indeed it is. Friendly staff that most importantly, knows and loves wine and can show and suggest some good choices they have. I indeed had a great chat with the owner about wine as a topic and is really quite inspiring. (Yes she speaks good English) Food wise I keep thinking of their Tuna-Fennel bite. It’s really the best demonstration- simple food just great ingredients and that works! What’s more? There’s some board games to keep the children busy, so adults can enjoy a relaxing chat. One of the best in our trip!!

02/02/2025: Excellent. Superior quality warm and welcoming environment fabulous location. I've been back and the quality is still high. I removed a star because I ordered fried calamari and prawns and they only brought me calamari. I pointed it out and the only thing they cared about was showing me the correctness of the order. I didn't eat the prawns and I paid for everything without any discount. Too bad a bad fall in style. Returned this time everything ok

20/01/2025: Our overall experience was positive, in spite of the restaurant being full even in January, the service was excellent. We were there for a Sunday brunch and it was packed, always a good sign. We had steaks and seafood, all were pleased.

04/04/2025: We were so fortunate to discover Montemorli and meet Vittorio and his family. I messaged them on WhatsApp to ask about a tour and Vittorio offered to give us a personal tour the next day. He walked us around the vineyard and talked about the varietals and their harvesting timeline etc. We then went to the cellars and learned about the aging and wine making processes. It was very interesting to hear the history of the vineyard and the Conforti family. Vittorio was also very patient and answered all of our questions. We then walked over to their outdoor kitchen and had a tasting with snacks and we loved all of the wines but could only buy a few to carry with us on the rest of our trip. We were there for several hours and never felt rushed or like we overstayed our welcome. The best part about all of this is that it was just the two of us and Vittorio, so we felt like we were visiting with a friend. This is a "tour" but it feels more like you are visiting family and it is much different than visiting one of the large, commercial wineries. I'd take this option any day over one of those and can't wait to visit again the next time we are in Italy!

27/03/2025: One of the best wine tasting experiences we have had, Vittorio is a warm and very familiar person, we really liked the coexistence with the group, the explanation and the tour as well as the wines we tasted.

27/04/2025: Randomly chosen place for a quick lunch on the go, it was a pleasant surprise. Three dishes, including a mixed fried food, a coffee and a bottle of water €33. Very kind and fast service. The only disappointment was not finding pasta allo scoglio on the menu... The fried food was really good though and also the crab dumplings.

15/02/2025: Servizio impeccabile, precisi e gentili. Per le pietanze, non proprio soddisfatto. Sapori non pervenuti o poco presenti, uso della panna nelle tagliatelle che copriva il sapore dello speck. A gusto mio no un ottima cucina, magari abbiamo trovato una giornata storta del cuoco.

31/08/2024: Well… Honestly, I was not satisfied. Small portions, high prices and average quality, nothing exceptional. Let's be clear: the food is not bad, but personally (starter, first course, 3 second courses and 3 Desserts) I don't think there is anything that is above average. Good but not exceptional products, normal vegetables and good but not exceptional desserts, Not even valorization of local products. All with very small portions (for example, the Potatoes, on the side, were 4 - four - slices of about 2 mm for 4 euros) It's not bad, but personally I don't think it's worth these 5 stars, high price for the quality and quantity offered

05/05/2025: We had a horrible dinner before coming here, so we were hoping to redeem our evening with some dessert and coffee at La Locanda. Sadly, we were treated poorly because we were not ordering dinner. I worked in hospitality for 15 years, and would never change my level of service, regardless of what was being ordered. We likely would have returned here for a full meal during the remainder of our visit to Chianti, but since the staff was very rude, we will certainly not return. The stars are only for the dessert, as it was very unique and delicious.

03/05/2025: I come here regularly – and every time, I’m amazed. The truffle pasta has become a tradition for me, and it’s simply divine. The waiters are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and offer excellent recommendations – the wine choices, like the Bucciarelli Chianti Classico Riserva, have always been spot on. La Locanda di Pietracupa is a truly special place: elegant yet never pretentious. You can feel the dedication of the two female chefs in every dish. It’s a place to enjoy, to relax – right in the heart of Chianti. Absolutely recommended!
