05/08/2026: I rarely write restaurant reviews, but Sapio truly deserves one. Earlier this year, I wanted to surprise my wife for her 40th birthday with something she would never forget. I arranged for her and my mother-in-law to spend a few days in Sicily, and finding the perfect restaurant became one of the most important parts of the trip. I had heard wonderful things about Sapio through friends, so I contacted the restaurant almost six months in advance. My wife has coeliac disease, meaning she cannot eat gluten, and when dining at this level there is always some uncertainty about whether a tasting menu can be adapted without compromising the experience. From the very first email, the team at Sapio was exceptional. They were warm, professional, incredibly accommodating, and gave me complete confidence that my wife would be in safe hands. Their communication throughout the entire process was simply outstanding. The evening itself exceeded every expectation. Both my wife and my mother-in-law came back absolutely amazed. They described it as one of the finest dining experiences they have ever had. Every dish on the tasting menu was beautifully executed, the wine pairings were outstanding, and the service was flawless from beginning to end. What impressed us even more was the genuine care the team showed. They had gone to extraordinary lengths to source a wide range of gluten-free ingredients and products so that my wife could enjoy the full tasting menu without compromise. Nothing felt like an afterthought. Every course was prepared with complete confidence, and it was obvious that both the kitchen and the service team have an exceptional understanding of coeliac disease and cross-contamination. To make the evening even more special, they also celebrated her birthday with thoughtful personal touches that made the experience feel truly unique. Those small gestures meant a great deal to us. If you are looking for an unforgettable fine dining experience in Catania, Sapio is simply outstanding. And if you have coeliac disease or require a completely gluten-free experience, I honestly cannot imagine a better restaurant. The level of knowledge, preparation and genuine care is second to none. Thank you to everyone at Sapio for helping make my wife’s 40th birthday so incredibly special. It is a memory that our family will treasure for many years to come. Highly, highly recommended. Five stars without hesitation.

04/08/2026: This was truly AMAZING! We were really spoiled from start to finish. I recommend this to everyone. Service perfect, food perfect, wines perfectly paired. The atmosphere was great, just a bit quiet for a Saturday. We will definitely come back again.

11/06/2026: Beautiful view and a good restaurant. Personally I think this place would be best as a group and you can share some plates as they are quite large. I went by myself and was absolutely stuffed. I didn’t make the best choices for myself as I ordered things that were very rich, but that’s on me. Overall it was a pleasant dinner and the staff and service were excellent. It’s a large farm and much of the produce comes directly from the farm, which is nice. I had dessert (forgot to photograph) of little pastries filled with ricotta and pistachio paste, these were not to my taste. But again I think this was more my choices than the restaurant. I will definitely go again and try different things from the menu.

15/07/2026: So sweet! Paolo explained how the idea came about and then showed us how to make tea or herbal tea. They also have organic products, and everything is well-kept and clean. A really nice idea (I felt right at home)... a treat on a cool autumn afternoon. Reasonable prices! Clean bathrooms, a very nice and spacious room, well-attended.

24/04/2026: An incredible place - absolutely loved the philosophy and the whole tea experience visiting this gem of a place. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this. Claudia (an absolute sweetheart) takes you through the experience of taking your time to smell your way through continents & flavours of tea at your leisure - you pick a mug & tea infuser, fill up your infuser and then Claudia comes round with hot water & a timer. Such a genius concept. You feel part of the process and experience. Tea selection is superb. And quality of tea exceptional. The owner is a master at selecting teas. Even purple tea leaves I’ve never come across. There’s delicious accompanying range of cakes and biscuits too - chosen to compliment the teas. AND gin infused teas too! Honestly a hidden backstreet gem of a place. Highly highly recommended. I absolutely loved visiting 3 times for tea & cake/biscuits & a wonderful chat with Claudia. I also bought some teas to take home to London & received a sweet Palermo tea gift - will for sure return. Just superb! RETURNED APRIL 2026 A dream place - Claudia remembered me - this place is such a magical spot and the tea experience a real delight.

20/07/2026: This restaurant was an amazing find! It was quiet when we turned up at 20:30 but quickly all the tables were filled so we were lucky to find a spot. The food was out of this world, really fresh and really delicious. We had the burrata and swordfish meatball starters - amazing! And snapper from the specials board and also busiate al pesto trapanese with fish which was delectable!! Attentive service, best bread we’ve had in the past week of Sicilian meals. You should eat here!

The appetizers, with their many different selections, were delicious and perfect for discovering the flavors of Sicilian cuisine. The pasta was also truly tasty and perfectly cooked. The service was impeccable: fast, attentive, and always with a smile. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, ideal for a quiet dinner. An authentic restaurant, far from the usual tourist traps. If you're passing through Catania, it's definitely worth a visit!

05/08/2026: Located in the upper part of Modica (so you can only walk there from the lower part if you're an athlete), it has a somewhat unassuming feel, nestled on a run-of-the-mill street. But the quality of the food is surprising, and for a below-average price, you'll enjoy above-average dishes. The food may be simple, but it's excellent. It seats about twenty people, so reservations are recommended in high season. The only downside is the desserts, which are good but not as good as the rest.

16/08/2026: The best little hole on the wall!! Amazing food, and a lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff accommodating of allergies. Recommend the hamburger and the swordfish - gluten free and dairy free!!

15/08/2026: Excellent sandwiches! Unfortunately, the place is very small with very few seats, and there's a wait to receive your order. It's perfect for a couple, but for a group, it's starting to get more difficult.

05/08/2026: I ate the best pizza of my life here at Tyche and enjoyed every single slice. Fresh ingredients, very friendly staff, and Maurizio (the owner) was also very welcoming. To finish, they offered espresso or limoncello. 😊

We didn't get the chance to eat at the restaurant because, due to a technical issue, Pasquale (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly!) couldn't open that day. But instead of sending us away, he prepared an incredible vegan takeaway dinner for us and refused to let us pay. The food was absolutely outstanding. There was an amazing variety of dishes, all delicious, creative, and made with so much care. What made this experience truly unforgettable, though, was Pasquale himself. His generosity, kindness, and genuine hospitality made our trip to Sicily so much more special. Some places stay with you because of the food; others because of the people. Singula gave us both. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Amazing food, a special atmosphere, and an owner who is simply an extraordinary human being. Thank you so, so much. We can't wait to come back!

17/08/2026: As the waiter poured wine, I noticed the glass was stained with lipstick. Lifting the napkin from the plate, I noticed a hair on the plate. The risotto was extremely salty and inedible, the paccheri seemed drained and over-seasoned, and to top it off, the fish was fresh 🤔 I saw it was cooked and brought to the table. As soon as the fish arrived, so did the smell of fish being kept outside its ideal temperature. I won't add anything else.

17/08/2026: The place is nice, the food is good, a good selection of appetizers, and the prices are normal, like in other restaurants... Everything is expensive everywhere these days... The only downside is the service; we would have liked to eat together, but some appetizers arrived quite a bit apart from each other. Something went wrong. Definitely room for improvement.
