03/05/2026: The setting is superb, with a magnificent view of the lake and Rocca di Angera castle. The staff are responsive and friendly. Starter + main course + dessert + bottle of wine = less than €50 per person. Top-notch restaurant, I highly recommend it.

07/04/2026: I had dinner here with a friend. The fried fish was frozen, but good and easy to digest. The Tyrolean puccia was good, crispy and light. The service was sketchy. The young woman who served us, however, was very kind and cheerful. I don't know what the first courses, second courses, or pizza are like, but maybe I'll come back someday. The prices were average for the area. The atmosphere was very basic. Overall, good.

19/03/2026: Excellent coffee and delicious desserts of all kinds, a cute and characteristic place with brick vaults, several tables inside and some outside under the portico, friendly staff, parking nearby, I recommend it for a sweet break if you're passing through those parts.

07/04/2026: I was looking for a restaurant for Easter lunch and found this place on Facebook. The place is beautiful, with an outdoor area overlooking a branch of the Ticino River, a children's play area, and several tables and chairs for relaxing between courses. The Easter menu was enjoyed by everyone, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our requests. The portions were generous, the food was quality, and I recommend it to everyone. I'll definitely be back.

The staff is helpful, kind, and polite, with prompt and precise service. The cuisine—regarding the food, we can say it makes you feel at home, yet pampered like a restaurant. The flavors are refined, yet not overly traditional, and are prepared with passion, care, and love by the kitchen team. The chef, also the owner, is truly attentive to every detail, capable of advising and directing you in the best possible way to ensure a phenomenal experience. Last but not least, the location is located near the river, a very relaxing place to spend a day or evening with friends immersed in nature. We also took advantage of the garden for a Celtic ritual, and we can say it was phenomenal 🥰 I'll conclude by saying that I recommend it for events like weddings, birthdays, or even a dinner with friends where the food is good, the company is great, and the place pampers you. ❤️

01/12/2025: Lunch with many friends. We mainly ordered paniscia. It wasn't appreciated because it was very dry and flavorless. First, we were served a few basic appetizers. Essentially, boiled salami and gorgonzola with polenta. I think we'll look for other places in the area.

14/07/2025: Very friendly, typical and above all very well-equipped little town! I would like to give a huge thumbs up for having made bins available almost everywhere, which fortunately forces tourists to respect them! I was afraid of walking around the lake and I must say that I was surprisingly surprised by the facilities!!!! Tourists are spoiled! The little tourist train, nice! And above all very practical! The island to visit, a haven of peace!!! Very quick crossing by small boat, with very friendly and attentive staff. Small downside.... There are many restaurants, menus and drinks that are decent, but from the start and automatically we are spoken to in English, whereas it would be more pleasant in Italian!!!!

22/04/2026: Cozy place with great wine as well as tasty food to snack on. The owner is a friendly, welcoming guy with a passion for what he does. Definitely stop by if you are in the area, you won't regret it. (there was also great music playing in the background which made our stay even better!)

22/04/2026: Great place to have delicious wines and along with other local delicacies. This place is one of the reasons we were so glad we stayed in Meina during our lake Maggiore vacation. The owner and his wife were super nice and welcoming. When we one day return to lake Maggiore, we will definitely come back here.

04/01/2026: A very characteristic location in the center of Orta. Very structured menu; the appetizers could easily be second courses. Extensive and refined wine list. Experienced, attentive service. Medium-high prices. A must try! 💚

27/12/2025: Very nice place. Really good food. The waiters were kind, polite, and attentive. You might be wondering why only 2 stars. If I could split the rating, I'd give 5 stars to the overall experience, the food, and the waiters, and 1 star to the "supposed owner" (or, at least, the person who pretended to be one). Throughout the lunch, she did nothing but read aloud the negative reviews of local restaurants, denigrating and ridiculing them. She then added a few minutes of criticism and polemic (not at all constructive) towards Villa Crespi, calling it inadequate and complaining that Orta is known only for the Villa and its Michelin-starred restaurant. She also stated loudly that Villa Crespi would delete negative Tripadvisor reviews so it always has good reviews. An unpleasant comment that confirms her intention to take pleasure in denigrating others. That said, if you enjoy good food at a traditional, local restaurant, I recommend it. I hope the woman reads this comment and realizes the bad publicity she's given not only to her competitors, but also to her own restaurant. My only practical advice for the restaurant: the dark bread is good, but the white one is a bit hard. I'd replace it.
