19/07/2025: Well located in a Little piazza of Torino, this small restaurant is a must : the service is suuuuper nice and french speaking, great cooking (from Bologna if I remember well) at a reasonnable price. We had a great time there and strongly recomend it. Grazie mille !

13/07/2025: I had dinner with my husband. We had the "le merende" appetizer (some light fried gnocchi and excellent fried fish, along with a sampling of scquaquerone cheese, fig jam, pieces of piadina, balsamic vinegar-marinated onions, and slices of torta pasqualina) and a first course (I had the typical "raviolini" with red sauce and grated lemon zest, and my husband had a typical pasta dish that looked like a risotto). Everything was very good, except my husband's first course was a bit too peppery. I drank a glass of Sangiovese in the typical bowl. First, we were offered a welcome appetizer. We were very satisfied and plan to return.

26/05/2025: Siamo stati in questa taverna per caso a pranzo e ci siamo trovati benissimo, tanto che siamo tornati anche per cena. Servizio cortese e attento. Ottimi piatti della tradizione con ampia scelta per ogni portata. Abbiamo provato antipasti, primi e secondi e anche i dolci ed era tutto buonissimo. Anche i vini ottimi. Prezzi in linea con gli altri locali. Locale carino e non troppo grande, ottimo anche per parlare di lavoro tra colleghi. Super consigliato sia per pranzo che per cena.

26/05/2025: We went to this tavern by chance for lunch and we had a great time, so much so that we returned for dinner. Courteous and attentive service. Excellent traditional dishes with a wide choice for each course. We tried appetizers, first and second courses and also desserts and everything was delicious. Excellent wines too. Prices in line with other places. Nice place and not too big, also great for talking about work with colleagues. Highly recommended for both lunch and dinner.

25/07/2025: Nice place. There's both the La Piazza pub-brewery and the La Piazza restaurant on the first floor. I recommend both. The restaurant was really good, but I haven't been there in a while.

22/07/2025: I've been frequenting La Piazza dei Mestieri for just under twenty years, often offering it to friends for dinner. I've lived in Turin for six years and regularly cycle there. It's always been my custom to walk my bike in and place it against the flowerbeds to the left of the entrance. Last night, the security officer forbade me from bringing it into the courtyard, precisely for security reasons. I went out to look for a pole to tie it to, but there were no free poles nearby (except for a low one that would have been very easy to remove from above). Given the sentimental value this object has for me, and considering how easily bicycles are stolen in our city, I insisted on letting them bring it in. The owner of the place told me that if he'd seen me before, given the ban, he wouldn't have let me in before (I think that makes sense), but he still went out of his way to find a solution. The security guard, however, was adamant: for security reasons, it wasn't possible to bring it into the courtyard. It's a shame there were other bikes and even scooters inside. When I asked him why, if for security reasons, they were allowed in and mine wasn't, he replied that he wasn't required to explain. I should point out that I'm talking about a perfectly normal bike, which is invisible leaning against the wall in a context like that. I tried to explain to him that there's no point in encouraging people to use alternative modes of transport to the car with projects like the new pedestrian zones right outside the square if we then clash over these things, but he scoffed and replied (exactly): "If that's okay, the next thing you say to me will be about global warming." The discussion continued in front of several people, with the individual arrogantly ordering me to take my bike away. This was a completely illogical situation, as I was pointing to another bike leaning against the wall and a scooter a little further away, their respective owners sitting comfortably at tables, and he made no attempt to explain what was and was not allowed, either to me or to those with me. What left me most shocked, however, was the arrogance, conceit, and complete lack of dialogue on the part of the person in charge at the entrance, with whom any attempt at reasoning was impossible. In hindsight, given that the issue (according to him) was safety, and therefore the other bike and scooter owners were evidently endangering it, I should have called the Carabinieri. I will definitely suggest another venue for our future dinners.

28/07/2025: The slowness is okay, but the rudeness is not. We were treated terribly. We sat down on a weekday after booking, with a third of the seats occupied, and an hour and a half wait for two plates of pasta. A little resentful but mostly hungry, we pointed this out to the owner, who, rather than at least showing understanding, pointed out that "we're on vacation and we shouldn't ruin our evening over this." Shocked, we retorted that we thought we should decide how best to use our time. At which point, she, very annoyed, made a scene ("I'll show you if you've waited an hour and a half"), went to get the receipts for the order and slammed them on the table, to show us that instead of 1 hour and 30 minutes, we had waited 1 hour and 18 minutes. Ah, then everything changes. I've never been treated like this before. As for the rest: Nice atmosphere, very kind waiter/waitresses. Varied menu. Fish okay, cacio e pepe good, focaccia dry around the edges (obviously cut two hours earlier). It's a shame, because if it weren't for the treatment, it would have been a wonderful experience, and that's enough. Go if you want to do some Zen exercise.

23/07/2025: The waitress was courteous and helpful. The wait was short. They offered us a very good appetizer. We ate well, and the place is quite intimate, although being on the street means you can get some cars passing by. When we went, however, there wasn't much traffic.

22/07/2025: We visited Ristorante Centrale in Moncalvo during the height of white truffle season, and it was a memorable experience. The restaurant is welcoming, elegant but not overly so, perfectly nestled in the Piedmont hills. We ordered several white truffle dishes and were impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the absolute respect for the star of the season: each course showcased the truffle without overpowering its aroma, allowing its aromas and flavors to shine through. The service was professional, attentive but never intrusive, with staff knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to indulge in a high-quality lunch or dinner during truffle season. It's a local favorite.

28/06/2025: Christmas lunch all in all decent. The problem is the rudeness when going to the cashier to pay. My wife embarrassed in front of many people because the numbers didn't add up when they should know the right amount to pay, taking away the deposit and children who obviously paid less... My wife dismissed with a "go away... it's fine like this" ... As Cannavacciuolo says... Goodbye

19/07/2025: We recently visited this lovely place. I was thrilled with a truly spectacular dish: pasta stuffed with octopus and eggplant and a butter and lemon sauce. It tasted exceptionally good and was a unique combination. The service and staff were very friendly. Congratulations, a great discovery!

18/06/2025: Nous avons merveilleusement bien mangé au restaurant La Botte à Stresa. Tout était parfait du début à la fin. L’accueil a été chaleureux et sincère, l’ambiance à la fois élégante et détendue, et chaque plat était une véritable découverte de saveurs. La patronne est attentionnée et d’une gentillesse rare. On sent qu’elle met tout son cœur dans son établissement. Le service est fluide, et on se sent tout de suite comme à la maison. Bref, nous avons passé une superbe soirée, dans une ambiance conviviale et raffinée. Une très belle adresse à ne pas manquer si vous êtes de passage à Stresa. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

23/06/2025: One of those places that you find by chance but that remain in your heart. The location is beautiful, you eat among the frescoed vaults of a castle or outside in the garden. The food, in Piedmont, can only be excellent, especially in those parts but the real wealth of the place is the very warm management, which makes you feel immediately at ease: a young couple (he who works in the kitchen and she in the dining room), you feel a bit like a guest in their home. They offer a very rich tasting menu, which varies according to the season and the availability of fresh local products and which accompanies you from the appetizer to the coffee. Despite the large quantity of courses, the service is always fast and efficient and does not bore us.
