10/05/2026: Olmo Napoleonico is located in Golferenzo, a municipality in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese region in Lombardy. It is part of the Borgo dei Gatti scattered hotel, characterized by renovated stone houses, famous for hosting numerous cats who act as "guardians" of the village.
The food is truly delicious, with excellent ingredients and meticulous preparation. There are also delicious options for celiacs, allowing you to enjoy unique dishes without sacrificing flavor.
10/05/2026: I gave the service 2 stars because of the friendly staff. The price paid for what we ate was completely unreasonable, both for the quantity and the quality. €78.50 total for 2 for: a cold cuts platter consisting of 3 slices of salami, 3 slices of pancetta, 3 slices of coppa (€18). A cheese platter consisting of 6 small pieces of cheese (2cm x 2cm) (€18). 2 fried gnocchi (€12). 2 mediocre slices of cake (€18), coffee, water (€6.50). The ridiculous thing was the cost of the glass of wine and the Coke (€3) each... perhaps to compensate. Just so you know; I've had lunch/dinner in restaurants that cost half a kilo per person, I can't justify the price, but at least there was research and quality.

16/05/2026: Family-run restaurant in a small village in Pavia. Large dining room, they offer various menus, we opted for the most complete one, starting with the appetizers of vegetables and cured meats, good especially the coppa, two first courses of braised ravioli and pisarei and faso' (we had two of the pisarei), for the second course beef cheek with puree (it melted in the mouth), super and guinea fowl, to finish off dessert and coffee. Finally, compliments to the always attentive and smiling staff. I hope to come back in the future also because I'm a bit far away, thanks.

13/05/2026: We tried this restaurant on weekdays, so with the fixed menu, all the dishes were good enough, but they were clearly prepared for a busy crowd and lacked attention to presentation. Overall, the food was good for the price. We'll try it again next week.

05/04/2026: The Easter lunch at Il Capriccio, created by chef Luca, was a true gastronomic journey, marked by balance and creativity.
The appetizers opened the experience with great elegance: the shrimp salad with crispy artichokes stood out for its freshness and contrasting textures, while the crispy egg on creamed asparagus won over with its delicacy and harmony. The walnut biscuit with goat's cheese and peach mousse in balsamic vinegar was also surprising, an original combination, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory.
Among the first courses, the risotto with shrimp, asparagus, and Piedmont hazelnuts was a refined blend of flavors and aromas, impeccably creamed. The fresh pasta rolls filled with ricotta and artichokes, accompanied by strips of bresaola, offered a more enveloping and traditional touch, executed with great skill.
The main courses confirmed the attention to quality ingredients: the calamari with cherry tomatoes and Taggiasca olives, served with crusty bread, was light yet rich in flavor. The roast veal, accompanied by French-style peas and potato flans, stood out for its tenderness and flavor, providing a deeply satisfying savory finish.
To conclude, a delicate and fresh dessert: the berry cheesecakes, perfect for ending the meal with a sweet yet subtle note.
An Easter menu curated down to the smallest detail, showcasing seasonal ingredients and sophisticated pairings. Chef Luca once again demonstrates his ability to combine tradition and innovation, creating a memorable culinary experience.
