18/01/2026: Today we had lunch at this trattoria. A lovely appetizer of cured meats with a side dish, beans all'uccelletto. For the main course, polenta taragna, delicious, accompanied by delicious ribs "alla slavecc," a delicious stew. All this in a lovely setting, served by the owner who does everything she can to make you feel comfortable and at ease for a wonderful, convivial moment. Well done, thank you.

19/11/2025: I can only agree with the excellent comments of other users. We arrived in Valsassina for a motorcycle ride. The valley, wild and beautiful, led us to the only open osteria in the area. Only a few tables, all occupied. A stove was lit to warm us from the 2°C outside. The lady, occasionally alone in the kitchen and dining room, despite the difficulty of managing everything alone, welcomed us very graciously, apologizing in advance if we encountered poor service. Instead, we ate excellent baked macaroni pasticciati and polenta with veal. If these dishes were already excellent, who knows how succulent those prepared by the cook (the lady's mother), who was absent today, must be. To finish, an excellent coffee accompanied by two bites of crostata. All accompanied by a bottle of water (don't drink alcohol if you're driving, especially since the [only] road is very narrow and winding) for €26. Rating: meal 10, hospitality 10+++. It takes courage and love to stay and live in these places lost in the middle of nowhere, and here they prove it beautifully. If we ever come back, it will be a pleasantly obligatory stop.

03/02/2026: The place is cute, with an '80s vibe, but it still has a squat toilet in the bathroom. When we entered, we weren't offered a menu, either verbally or à la carte. We were simply told they'd bring us pizzoccheri. Once we'd finished those, if we wanted a second course, we could have polenta with stew. In short, it felt more like a mountain refuge than a restaurant. The prices were very competitive, and the staff were very friendly.

29/12/2025: Delicious food, a warm and atmospheric place. You can tell it's cooked with love. It'll leave you full, and your wallet happy, because the prices are really low. The place was also extremely clean and beautifully decorated, which is a huge plus; you can tell the owners care about everything. Knowledge of German or Italian would be helpful, as the place doesn't have a menu. I highly recommend it ;)

The menu offers traditional local dishes such as pizzoccheri and polenta at very reasonable prices, offering excellent value. The impeccable service, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff, exudes passion and love for their work. Highly recommended!

04/04/2026: Quiet and pleasant experience. I tried the tagliatelle with sausage ragù, which was delicious, especially thanks to the homemade pasta. A very quiet atmosphere and welcoming service. The only downside is the price.

23/02/2026: We stopped yesterday for a quick lunch, with our little wolf. Good service and excellent food. Highly recommended.

02/02/2026: Tried it only once for a full group lunch. At first glance, it seemed very welcoming with friendly staff. The food, typically Valtellina, is well-cooked and, while obviously heavy in cheese, relatively lightly oily. The sciatt were delicious, not dripping with frying oil, and, I must say, the pizzoccheri were truly my favorite: few vegetables, plenty of cheese, but not floating in the oil. The cheeses were very good. Unfortunately, I didn't see any desserts or any homemade liqueurs. Prices are average to high. Logistically, it's not the most convenient for a Milanese, but I'd definitely return.

The dishes are delicious and meticulously prepared...EVERYTHING IS EXCELLENT. The menu is explained directly by the owner with excellent care and passion. We had a wonderful time. We ate wonderfully and will definitely be back again to try the other dishes offered...

20/02/2026: I had dinner last night with a friend at this very welcoming restaurant. The owner listed the dishes so expertly that we had a hard time choosing because we could have eaten them all! Excellent food, excellent wine, and the owners' kindness and courtesy were outstanding. We'll definitely be back!

20/09/2025: On Saturday evening, a 15-minute walk away, Sonia welcomed us and explained the menu: platter, pizzoccheri, and a trio of polenta with mushrooms, gorgonzola, and venison... we really enjoyed it, the homemade cakes were the best, we'll definitely be back for lunch because the view and the food are truly worth it. Thank you, Sonia, we felt right at home.

19/09/2025: After our hike, we took a spontaneous detour to this place and were so glad we did! The service, ambience, and food were incredible. We tried Pizzoccheri for the first time, and it was delicious. The view was amazing as well.

06/03/2026: Excellent experience, quality food, friendly service (a little teasing done in the right way, adorable!), and good service. Very fair price. Only downside: they don't accept dogs. It's a shame coming from out of town on a nice day to have to leave your dog at home!

30/12/2025: Don't turn up at 1.55 even though it says closes at 2.30. they won't serve you and Ont even let you do a take away and you have to walk a way feom'parking to get there

16/03/2026: Overall, it was a good experience at Restaurant Portovino! Unfortunately, my spaghetti carbonara was still a bit hard, not even al dente, and there was way too much pepper on top. My friend's steak was delicious. The mussels as a starter were also good, but the baguette was rock hard.

24/03/2026: What a delightful meal! The menu is limited (a good thing) and you are required to get at least one antipasto and one primo/secondo per person. The server was kind and hospitable, the food very tasty and thoughtfully conceived, and the views over a sunny lake (with a thankfully quiet road in mid-day) made it perfect. The goose antipasto was a standout for us!
