Staff speak English and are very friendly and accommodating. The food and wine are delicious and reasonably priced. So far we have eaten here 2/2 nights. I can definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant but be sure to arrive before 9pm for dinner, even if you have to wait it is worth it !!! Thank you ! Serann

I cannot speak highly enough of this little restaurant. The food is excellent, the setting is cute, nestled in narrow walkway one street back from the water - and the staff are just lovely. Much of the food and wine is local, and even the by-the-glass options for wine are fantastic. I loved eating here.

Our experience at Il Cavatappi was magnificent. We went on a Friday in July and, without a reservation, they prepared a table for us in 10 minutes. The service was very attentive and the food delicious. The price is what you'd expect from a very touristy place.

Outside seating space is much nicer than inside, but neither of them are big and usually there is a waiting line If you don't have a reservation. the food choice is somewhat limited but tasty. also inside, they don't have AC. So consider that if you're coming in the summer. we liked tiramisu, the most.

Our best meal in Varenna! ❤️ A big thank you to Joseph and Fatima for making our family of four feel so welcome. Even though the restaurant was full with a long queue, they never stopped smiling. Joseph was so kind to keep a lookout for a table so our family could sit together instead of splitting up; we really appreciated the extra effort👍 Fatima was incredibly attentive and very patient in explaining the menu, making us feel well looked after throughout our meal🥰 The seafood was amazingly fresh, especially the octopus tentacles and salmon - and everything arrived surprisingly fast despite how busy the restaurant was. It was also my first time trying gnocchi, and Joseph even showed me the best way to enjoy it😎 Thank you, Joseph and Fatima, for your genuine kindness and wonderful hospitality. This was easily our favourite restaurant and the best meal we had in Varenna. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A truly lovely, authentic restaurant. Delicious dishes, beautifully presented. Exquisite desserts! Warm atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. We will gladly return.
