A fantastic culinary experience in the heart of Varenna! We had a wonderful time at this intimate and authentic restaurant. The lasagna was delicious, and my wife's daily special was equally exquisite. High-quality cuisine and attentive service. A must-visit if you're looking for homemade food away from the crowds. We highly recommend it!

We had a lovely time at this establishment. There was a short queue, but it moved quickly! The servers were very friendly. The food was excellent; it's definitely a place to try when you're in Varenna!

I don’t want to tell you about this restaurant. Because, if you are smart, you’ll go and it will get more crowded. In all seriousness, call today and get a reservation (if you’re worried they speak perfect English and other languages). This is an extraordinarily good restaurant. Amazing specials, local products, perfectly cooked pasta, attentive staff, amazing Nebbiolo selection. What are you waiting for? Had asparagus flan (special), octopus (on menu), beef cheek (special), and pasta with a white duck ragu. Not a dish I’d change and I wish I could have come hungrier and eaten more.

This restaurant is fantastic! 🥰 We were there for the May 1st celebration and we ate very well… the food is excellent, with attention to the smallest details… every bite is a delicacy… the staff is very kind and Joseph is truly friendly and attentive… compliments to the (female) chef 😊 🔝 we will be back as soon as possible… 💗

The food is worth the wait! Only 20 seats at the restaurant and we were told they do not take reservations but when we arrived prior to opening to queue, they asked for anyone with reservations first so check with your hotel concierge to see if they are able to make you same day reservations. But the food is incredible. The lemon ricotta ravioli was the best.

Best meal of our time in Varenna. Grateful to have been the last party seated this night (note: get here early in the evening, as there will be a wait!) The pasta was so fresh, but my favourite of the evening was the night's special -- sea bass. Everything cooked to perfection; we left on a high!

Great food. Tricky to get in at rush hour. Not massive portions and you're paying for the quality but you are getting it.

The food isn't bad, but it's a place I would never return to for several reasons. 1. They force you to order two dishes per person (the cheapest dish is €15, which is a cheese board; if you want pasta or something more substantial, prices range from €20-€30 per dish). That means a minimum of €40 per person, plus drinks (a 0.70-liter bottle of water costs €5). 2. The service is, to say the least, strange. Tables remain empty for more than 10 minutes while other people wait and can't be seated. Furthermore, it took a long time for them to serve us and bring our food. 3. The food is good; we didn't try anything bad, but you can eat much better in most places in Italy, and for a lower price. 4. The owner is very unpleasant to the staff at times, as well as to prospective customers. Once you're seated, his attitude changes completely, and he's very friendly. In short, the food is decent, but it's far from worth it in terms of value for money and service. I would only recommend it if you have absolutely no other option.
