What a delightful meal! The menu is limited (a good thing) and you are required to get at least one antipasto and one primo/secondo per person. The server was kind and hospitable, the food very tasty and thoughtfully conceived, and the views over a sunny lake (with a thankfully quiet road in mid-day) made it perfect. The goose antipasto was a standout for us!

A day at the lake and a spectacular lunch. Everything was top-notch 🔝👍, from the ingredients to the preparation of the dishes and the friendliness of the owner.

This was one of the best meals my wife and I had on our trip to Lake Como. It’s a little further up the road from town, so a bit of a walk but there are some public paid parking available nearby. Every part of our dinner was great, both food and drink. Hospitality/service was great. We called ahead for a reservation and were able to eat outside. Would highly recommend this place, it’s worth it if you are in Varenna/Perledo area.

Every time we return to Al Platano, we reaffirm our opinion: A delightful place in every season, both inside and out... Attentive service, very, very good food that combines tradition and innovation. Good value for money, I'd say truly balanced, considering we're in Varenna. It's become a habit to bring "new" friends who will then become "loyal" and staunch supporters...

01/12/2025: We drank a glass of French Chardonnay and an excellent Sauvignon, both wines professionally explained and presented by the owner. Recommended for anyone looking for unique wines, different from the typical wineries in the area. We'll definitely be back! 👌🏻
