We were welcomed with great warmth by the owner, who made the experience even more special with her hospitality and her stories. The menu offers traditional dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to flavours. Each course was delicious, with generous portions and thoughtful presentation. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a meal in peace. A truly pleasant experience, which we recommend to anyone who wants to discover the best of local cuisine in Varenna.

19/02/2025: Affable and helpful waitress. Few dishes offered with some errors between the menu and the presentation but well made. Discrepancies in the wine list. Adequate price.

25/02/2025: Questa sera con un paio di miei amici siamo venuti in questo posto per mangiare la pizza. Io ho preso una pizza fritta ripiena e loro hanno preso due pizze "terrona" con nduja, salame piccante e burrata. Pizze davvero davvero ottime e ve le consiglio a occhi chiusi. Il tutto accompagnato tre birre rosse medie. Successivamente abbiamo preso altre due birre, due bottiglie d'acqua e un pagnotto con salsiccia e friarielli da dividere... Molto buono! Finita la cena ci hanno portato gli amari della casa e tre dolcettini fritti in omaggio. Abbiamo preso due caffè e abbiamo pagato €99. Personale alla mano e molto gentile davvero 🔝

16/03/2025: First time for lunch at Corte Zanella. Beautiful experience! Very kind and welcoming staff. Excellent dishes. Excellent risotto with nettles! A good wine cellar... Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the risotto, I was too busy eating.

27/03/2025: Nice place attached to the hotel. Stopped for lunch break with a fixed menu at 13.00 euros. Friendly and fast staff. Three people took: two risottos alla milanese, two smoked meats, a ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach with melted butter and sage and a sea hen. All very good. Water, wine and coffee included. Recommended.

27/03/2025: Ottimo per una pausa pranzo veloce ma non scontata . Offre una giusta quantità di piatti offrendo anche piatti senza glutine grazie alla certificazione AIC e una cucina completamente dedicata al senza glutine . BRAVI!

24/02/2025: We're not there... As soon as I enter and find a friendly and welcoming staff it destabilizes me, in other places they are often sour so I'm not used to friendliness and smiles. I was expecting a classic business menu with a recycled flavor and instead I had to deal with an explosion of taste with excellent dishes, so I even had to compliment the staff, what a thrill. I wanted to stay in peace without too much stimulation and instead I also had to admire a very beautiful and interesting location, so my eyes are also tired now, what a shock. Conclusion: If you are looking for a place with bland food, unpleasant staff, a gray concrete location, stay away from Pumià, which after the owner's jokes I even had to laugh that he is nice too, damn him... Ah well, the dessert was exceptional, I was on a diet and I even had to eat it... tonight I'm doing cardio.
