16/03/2025: Historic pizzeria, among the few in the city to offer a delicious thin pizza with excellent ingredients, always fresh. Nice, fast and kind staff. My favorite without a doubt, it's just a shame that it doesn't deliver!

We were 4 people, 2 Valtellina starters, 3 first courses, 1 second course, wine - all very good. The generous portions. Total expense - 100 euros. There are fewer and fewer places like this left. 05/04/2025: Very nice place, it seems like it jumped out of another era. Friendly staff and very good burgers. Nice setting and lighting. If you lowered the volume of the music a little and fixed the rumble it would be perfect.

02/03/2025: Cucina veramente eccellente e mai banale. Mangiare al Sottobosco è un' esperienza piacevole fuori dagli schemi dell'offerta gastronomica della zona. Ottime le materie prime utilizzate e buono il rapporto qualità-prezzo. Cantina con buone e non banali etichette con particolare attenzione al biologico. Completano il tutto un servizio attento e cordiale.

26/02/2025: Small, very well looked after environment. Friendly, competent and smiling staff. I've only been once (for now) the menu changes once a month. You can choose between the 4-course one, which was enough for me, or a more substantial 6-course one. The dishes were well presented and proved to be tasty and balanced. Compliments.

25/03/2025: This is the second time we have come here and it is the second time we have been pleasantly surprised. Very good and refined food, impeccable service, always done with a smile and with considerable competence. The waitress directed me and my partner on the choice of wines, both of which were 100% accurate. I highly recommend it to anyone who happens to be in the area.

16/03/2025: Trip to Bormio with friends. They recommended this restaurant to us for its family atmosphere and cuisine. We were largely satisfied with the local cuisine based on pizzoccheri and sciatt. We also recommend the tagliatelle. All in a quiet and welcoming environment.

13/04/2025: Excellent pizza, despite the oven not being wood fired. The fried foods are delicious. I would revisit the choice of beers, Italian beers are missing and those present are not particularly good. Reasonable price, friendly and professional staff. Special lemon sorbet!

We were welcomed with great warmth by the owner, who made the experience even more special with her hospitality and her stories. The menu offers traditional dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and great attention to flavours. Each course was delicious, with generous portions and thoughtful presentation. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a meal in peace. A truly pleasant experience, which we recommend to anyone who wants to discover the best of local cuisine in Varenna.
