23/07/2025: The entire staff treated us all as family. They were generous and the food was wonderful, fresh, local cuisine.

30/06/2025: Neglected place, without a sign that makes its identity clear. In my opinion, the prices are too high to justify the place and the quality of the food. A 20 euro fish appetizer where the fish was almost absent and the salmon tasted stale... The badly cooked grilled fish where I had to give up the overcooked tuna... I gave up dessert and coffee to limit the DAMAGE... honestly, the owners need to review some things. For me it was not a happy expense...

14/10/2025: Great for business lunches, the food is excellent and you can even choose fresh meat to have cooked on the spot. A small criticism about the storage of the dishes; many times, especially the main courses, were not hot. A pass!

21/08/2025: Elegant atmosphere and courteous, prompt staff. We discovered the Universale restaurant by chance but were pleasantly surprised. The dishes are well-prepared: beautiful to look at and delicious to eat! The black lasagna and the amberjack steak are highly recommended.

Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 1:40 PM, while I was looking at their signs to go get a smoothie, which I had just seen on the product labels outside the entrance. A male person, later identified as a presumed servant, waiter, or other unhelpful person, approached me from behind, banging his shoe violently on the ground to make noise. I asked why, as the deafening noise of his thumping on the ground made me jump. The individual arrogantly, without apologizing or saying anything else, told me I was looking up and that he had to get work done and move on. I demanded an explanation because I was supposed to enter his bar and was looking at the menu outside, but, having been called out by a colleague for my behavior, he loudly stated that I was tripping him... (I assume there are also cameras with video to extract from this false statement, which should also be legally pursued). Now at this point, what can one think, given such rudeness, falsehood, and charlatanism? The street isn't the restaurant's, but a passageway to the outside tables, just as it is for people like me who were also entering the restaurant in question. No apology, just rudeness on the part of the waiter or someone in his stead, and given the other negative reviews, I think his name was also Alessandro, who was also a show-off and a bully (but didn't come out from behind the counter to explain), like the sheep he showed himself to be. Best wishes to the other people who work with him inside... They probably don't get along well with such a rude person... and it all reflects on the management of the place and the customers who also feed him... Furthermore, I personally sent a report of what happened to the competent authorities, both municipal and in charge of control, to consider possibly revoking the authorization to operate the outdoor terrace. Besides, if the staff is having difficulty with pedestrians on the street, they can't possibly be able to obtain authorization to operate the outdoor terrace, precisely because of the difficulty the bar operator has expressed. You never know who you'll meet along the way... There are people who are looking for a fight, just like the individual, and plainclothes staff who always have the final say... Ad maiora

14/05/2025: I could start by explaining where and how he chooses the meat, I could tell you about the meticulousness with which he chooses the type of bread best suited to his burgers, or I could tell you about how tempted I was to ask for a piece of raw sausage, because it was so good... instead I'll tell you that I wanted to post a photo but after the first bite I couldn't stay less than two centimeters away from that explosion of joy and egg yolk that was my sandwich. I discovered Otto Kraus by chance, on a business trip to Genoa and, please, for your own good, don't miss the chance to taste and try this type of approach to burgers. Truly one of the best I've ever tasted. And don't even consider the negative comments, the helpfulness and kindness of the owner are values ​​that are hard to find nowadays, even for those who work in contact with the public.

12/10/2025: On a day that only on the calendar was autumnal, we decided to try this restaurant. The staff was excellent, attentive, and the wine glass pairing was excellent. The food paid homage to Liguria, with a sublime appetizer. We were only sorry we couldn't thank the chef personally, even though he came out several times to chat with the next table. Should I perhaps return?

04/09/2025: recently visited Trattoria da Giulia in Genoa, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was truly delicious – authentic Italian flavors prepared with great care. The hosts were warm and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Everything was clean and well-presented, and you can really feel the passion they put into their cuisine. On top of that, the prices are very fair and reasonable. If you’re in Genoa and want to enjoy genuine Italian food in a friendly and cozy place, I highly recommend Trattoria da Giulia!

23/09/2025: 💲 Visa accepted. 💗 I love the pistachio and raspberry flavors. They're quite rich and fresh, and the moment you take a sip, you know it's genuine, natural gelato, not artificially colored. 💁‍♀️The staff, though elderly, are incredibly energetic and provide excellent service. Watching them fill the ice cream is a real treat.
