30/07/2025: One thing's for sure: traditional dishes, made "as they should be" (and as Genoese grandmothers used to make them): minestrone, ravioli, pesto lasagna, meatloaf, stuffed pasta, vitello tonnato, fried anchovies, cima... a true "handbook" of Genoese cuisine!
Pleasant and quiet atmosphere, impeccably clean.

26/12/2025: We booked this restaurant for Christmas lunch, attracted by the numerous positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to our expectations.
Despite the pleasant view and the friendly staff, the restaurant had some issues. The temperature inside was quite low, and only some areas of the room were heated with electric heaters. The restrooms also needed more attention: the floor was wet, there was no toilet paper, and the hand dryer worked intermittently.
Regarding the menu, we found the Christmas lunch to be poorly organized. The appetizers were served by the waiters in very small portions, rather than presented on a single plate from which diners could help themselves. Among the appetizers, we only enjoyed the veal with tuna sauce and the marinated anchovies, albeit in very small quantities.
The other options didn't convince us: the vegetable tart looked like a frozen product (specifically, erbazzone) and was served cold; the octopus with potatoes had raw potatoes; The Russian salad had a sour aftertaste. The tuna carpaccio also had an unpleasant flavor.
Among the first courses, the ravioli au toccu were tasty, but the portions were decidedly small: five ravioli for the first course, and only three for the second course—which I expected to be more generous. The seafood risotto, however, had a lackluster flavor and wasn't particularly successful.
Moving on to the second courses, the Ligurian-style swordfish was covered in too much sauce and was not appreciated by the other diners either: the flavor was beyond comment. The braised beef, served semi-cold, actually tasted like the same meat used for the vitello tonnato, although it was accompanied by a good wine sauce. The side fries were pale and undercooked.
The dessert and the limoncello, fortunately, were pleasant. The coffee, however, served in a paper cup, was particularly bitter, despite the addition of milk and sugar.
In conclusion, despite the kindness of the staff and the excellent view, our overall experience was not satisfactory. We believe that, with greater attention to organization and the quality of the dishes, the restaurant could significantly improve.

This place is a true gem and absolutely worth a visit! Breakfast is a heavenly experience; the croissants are fabulous, freshly filled with care and freshness that make all the difference, not to mention the incredible Ligurian focaccia.
But the wonder doesn't end there! The kitchen is always open (with an unbeatable quality/price ratio) allowing you to enjoy exceptional dishes at any time.
The environment is meticulously maintained, clean, and welcoming in every detail. The outdoor seating is simply beautiful, perfect for enjoying the weather, but the indoor dining rooms also offer a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
Honorable mention goes to the professional, impeccable, and extremely polite staff. You can sense their passion and care for their customers in every gesture.
If you're in Cogoleto, OroNero is a must-see. Trust us, it's worth a try!

19/01/2026: Entering this establishment is like stepping into a celebration of local specialties in a grand, old-world style—a truly delightful change from those bland places.
Great specialties, a beautiful setting, stylish and friendly staff—a relaxing moment that does so much good.
Thank you so much.
A tip: if you see Americans ordering hot chocolate and grimace after adding at least seven packets of sugar... don't hesitate to explain what cioccolata calda is. Besides not being surprised or disappointed, they'll actually be curious and happy to try a specialty from northern Italy.
14/01/2026: This historic and beautiful bar, the pride of Genoa's historic center, was opened almost by accident in 1828 by the four Klainguti brothers, Swiss pastry chefs from Pontresina. They arrived in Genoa to embark for America in search of fortune. For a reason unknown to me, they decided to take over the business and settle in this magnificent city.
After a period of inactivity, it reopened, and yesterday we went for a herbal tea and some pastries.
The setup wasn't the best; the place was packed, and they sat us at a table in the corridor leading to the main dining room.
The waitress was very courteous and quick (perhaps too quick), serving us two excellent herbal teas and two pastries.
The price of the pastries was fair (€2.50), while the herbal teas were a bit high, for a total cost of about €20.

23/11/2025: A pizzeria primarily for takeout, with a few tables as well. Small but welcoming, it makes good pizzas at average prices. Their special Invictus with pumpkin cream is truly amazing.
The place is quiet, ideal for a quick pizza in good company without sacrificing quality. If it's a kid's birthday party, it quickly becomes a nightmare, but normally it has a simple feel.
On a positive note: the manager is exceptionally kind and friendly.
On a negative note: the bathroom has been the same since this place opened; a renovation wouldn't hurt, although I'm aware that for a pizzeria that primarily does takeout, it's just a plus.
In conclusion, I've been here several times and will gladly return in the future.
Hoping to please, I've included the pizza menu in the photos, which I couldn't find online.
14/09/2025: We came for dinner on September 2nd. We sat down at 9:00 PM, but at 10:00 PM, our pizza still hadn't been placed on the table.
When we asked why the delay, the answer was that the staff had stood us up and one of them had gone to a concert, so they asked us if we wanted to leave.
It's a shame that, since the kids were really hungry and it was already 10:00 PM, we stayed.
I find this long wait truly embarrassing. I want to point out that the place was completely empty!
The pizza wasn't very good and was dry.
I will never go back!!
A review from a week ago was completely identical in its response to the delay.
Is this just another excuse you're using to cover up your disorganization?
I'm disappointed!

10/10/2025: In Bogliasco, Maa Beach offers a combination of dining and seaside relaxation.
The view is truly beautiful.
Although the building is dated, we were very impressed with their cuisine.
Their pasta with pesto sauce and green beans and their tartare are a must-try.
I highly recommend it.
07/10/2025: The bay is beautiful, the bathrooms are nice, but there's a catch... Off-season, on September 29th, the penultimate day of opening, they can't still charge €40 for two loungers and an umbrella! That seems too much to me. And the shower isn't included; if you want a hot one, you have to pay... well,

18/09/2025: Genoa is the pesto capital, so you expect quality. Here, however, it was one of the worst pestos I've ever tried: too salty. €13 for this dish is a steal; it was worth €8–9 at most.
I also had the meat: ordinary, nothing special. For €16, you expect something remarkable, but it was a €10 dish. The salad was already wilted, the bread dry and flavorless, like stale bread. The fries definitely tasted like fried calamari—clearly fried in the same oil—disgusting. I didn't eat them, but they charged me anyway.
The service was terrible. The total bill: €53. For what? A meal worse than one at a service station. At least the food is better on the highway.
Conclusion: The "cook" is incompetent; anyone can cook better at home. If he thinks he's a chef, he should stop immediately.
Answer:
Next time, instead of completely denying the poor quality of your restaurant and service, simply change the oil and stop frying fries in the same oil as calamari. The restaurant is awful, the staff is awful, the atmosphere is awful, and the food is simply salty, greasy, and carelessly made. If the pesto is too salty, then the pesto is too salty—it's as simple as that. Since you're in Genoa, at least learn how to make proper pesto; that's the least you can do. If you can't accept criticism and acknowledge that the food is subpar, that's your problem. You can deny it all you want, but the facts don't change, and if need be, I'll continue writing reviews every day. You talk to me about politeness, I'll talk to you about the deplorable quality of your food: get over it, I don't care if you don't have the courage to face the reality of your job. If this is cooking and running a restaurant for you, then clearly we don't have the same standards—and it shouldn't even exist. If the food is rubbish, I won't eat it. That's my standard. Opening a restaurant and not knowing how to make pesto means you should probably look for another job. The same goes for chips that taste like fried squid: it's an absolute disgrace.

22/09/2025: I was searching on Google for a restaurant with a work menu.
We found this one about 500 meters from the boat show.
Well, what can I say? We ate really, really well and even saved money!
First course: paccheri with shrimp and mushrooms
Second course: grilled calamari
Side dish: fresh vegetables
Dessert
Coffee
Paid 15 euros.
I can only give it 5 stars, and they're well deserved.

23/11/2025: Ordered takeout with an expected arrival time of 8:00 PM, moved to 8:30 PM, and arrived at 8:45 PM. Obviously cold (the restaurant is less than a kilometer away), the delivery driver was kind. I ordered a triple meat steak with various sauces, two large packs of chips with the skin on, and a 50cl commercial beer. The sandwich contained two burgers, no habanero tobacco, and no Calabrian bomb. The lettuce was put at the bottom and consequently boiled. The chips were unpeeled and now soft. It's a shame, the bread is good. For €28+, I would have expected much different service.

09/12/2025: I received a terrible welcome, the food was mediocre, though made with decent ingredients, and the atmosphere was 40 years old. For the same money, I could eat elsewhere and be treated much better.
30/11/2025: Just seeing how long-time customers have been treated is enough to make me realize that this will be the first and last time I'll ever set foot here. This is definitely not the case.
