11/11/2025: We dined at the osteria twice. On Sunday evening, we found the waitress and chef welcoming us in a friendly and welcoming manner. The service was very fast, and the food was very good. The desserts are highly recommended. We returned to the restaurant, but this time we were a bit disappointed by the welcome and the atmosphere, with the chef absent and the owner present, who paid little attention to detail. The risotto was good but not exceptional, and above all, I would pay more attention to the thickness of the ravioli. The waitress was always very kind, attentive, and made us feel at ease.

23/08/2025: It's always a shame for me to leave a negative review, especially when the location is truly delightful: small but meticulously maintained and with a pleasant atmosphere. For this very reason, I believe constructive criticism can help both the owners, helping them grow and improve, and future customers, helping them have a more satisfying experience. During our dinner, however, several inconveniences arose that I must point out. As soon as we sat down, we found the placemat dirty, likely not replaced after the previous service. A detail that alone wouldn't have ruined the evening, but unfortunately it was the first in a series of oversights. We ordered a first course to share and two second courses. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle with lamb ragù was so salty that it was difficult to enjoy. The wild boar meatballs, however, arrived cold and partly burned. Finally, the sliced ​​beef: we weren't asked how it was cooked, and, without a proper knife for serving, we were faced with overcooked, very salty, and difficult to cut meat. A real shame, especially since the prices were decidedly high compared to the actual quality of what we were served. I sincerely hope these observations are helpful: the location has potential, but the cuisine and service deserve more attention to live up to expectations.

The staff is so kind and attentive that it makes you feel pampered. The menu? Simple: worthy of a standing ovation, a true gastronomic experience. I loved the meticulously crafted table setting and the beautifully designed plates. But the truth is, the staff's courtesy really makes the difference and deserves five stars. Highly recommended, without hesitation!

25/12/2025: Maria welcomed us with her partner Simone on the evening of December 22, 2025. Christmas dinner is a quiet time in the area, and we were the only guests. We were pampered by Simone, who explained the entire menu to us and enlivened the evening by chatting with us without ever being intrusive. Above all, we were struck by the delicacy and attention he showed in accommodating and serving the pregnant woman at the table. The food is fantastic: truly sublime crostoni with whitefish, abundant and tasty linguine with whitefish, and delicate and balanced nettle gnocchi. The grilled whitefish was a must-have for the main course. We had such a great time that we returned on the 24th: Simone was busy at his other restaurant, but Maria more than worthyly filled in for him, remembering to treat the pregnant customer in a special way without us having to remind her. A historic restaurant run by genuine people, as well as skilled restaurateurs, with life stories worth listening to and treasured. A heartfelt thank you to Maria and Simone from our family. 14/12/2025: Today, by chance, we found this trattoria, and it was a stroke of luck. We had lunch outside in a fantastic spot overlooking the lake. The food was excellent, recommended by Simone, a delightful, friendly, and knowledgeable person. Excellent value for money. Thank you!

The atmosphere is modern and welcoming, perfect for those looking for a place to eat without worries but with tasty dishes. The service is attentive and professional. I tried the porcini mushroom risotto and the fresh gluten-free pasta: both dishes were rich in flavor and well-prepared. The main courses, like the grilled chicken, were also tender and tasty. The gluten-free tiramisu was the perfect ending to a satisfying dinner. The prices are reasonable for the quality, considering the attention given to each gluten-free dish. Perfect for those with specific dietary needs who don't want to sacrifice excellent cuisine!

21/10/2025: There's a wide variety of pizzas, and they're all baked in a wood-fired oven, which makes them incredibly delicious. And the staff is very friendly. Just don't expect much from the atmosphere. I ordered takeout.

15/10/2025: I've rarely eaten such perfectly cooked pizza. When ordering, you can choose between Neapolitan and regular pizza. Both versions are excellent. The atmosphere is very authentic. Somewhere between a cafeteria, a storage room, and a kindergarten.

21/09/2025: Years have passed, but Gitano remains my favorite place. The little wooden house with its beautiful veranda overlooking the lake still has its charm. From here, you can admire the lake in 360°, a lake that never has the same color, but is always beautiful. This year, the big news: in charge, we have a wonderful staff of 20-year-olds; beautiful, smiling, and extremely courteous. They always keep this place tidy and clean. The food is excellent; my favorite dish is octopus with potatoes. Francesco, our legendary lifeguard, is always there. His strong point? 21/09/2025: Nice place, excellent food, breakfast/lunch/dinner. We had lunch, tonnarelli sea bass and cherry tomatoes for two, delicious. Two Cokes, one water, homemade ice cream, very fair prices, friendly staff. We'll be back for lunch again today.

15/10/2025: We booked for two nights, but after the first, we fled due to the unbearable smell of mold and dampness that lingered in the room, if you can call it that. Room 9 is a small building nestled in the vegetation, far from the main building. It has a glass entrance covered from the inside by curtains (it feels like sleeping in a shop window!), no bidet, and is very run-down. The owner offered us a room change, but we preferred to leave after finding a room in another hotel in the village. A terrible experience.

03/10/2025: Our stay was okay. Not bad but definitely not what we expected. We stayed two nights (as part of our walk along the Via Francigena) and I would not stay here again. Our room and bed were nice. Dinner was good but not great and it took forever (30+ minutes between 1st and 2nd course) and all our food was warm but not hot. The breakfast had a lot of pastries, store-bought yogurt, some soft apples and not much else - not even eggs or granola (I question the whole zero-kilometer food concept they promote). Overall, we didn’t really feel much warm hospitality- we honestly did not even get a “welcome” when we arrived or a “thank you” when we paid. (Although the young lady who did breakfast was very friendly). If you stay, I would avoid the meal options. As a pilgrim walking the VF, it’s not worth the extra kilometers.
