30/06/2024: Tranquil Perfection! We just had a wonderful five days staying at the beautiful La Faula, I don’t normally write reviews but it was such a fantastic experience staying on Luca and Paul’s farm I thought I’d share our experience! A beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of city life and big tourism. This place is a haven - recently changing to taking guests over 16 year old only means you’re guaranteed the best experience, tranquility and nature. We had great home cooked three course evening meals made often with local produce including their own eggs from some very happy chickens wandering about. Delightful breakfasts were simply prepared and most meals were served outside where you can socialise with other guests or not, whatever you wish! The outside space is charming but this is still definitely a working farm and not just for show. Vineyard are tended and the crop certainly produces fantastically tasty red and white wines that we enjoyed with our evening meal - well ok a few glasses were drunk under the lush vine canopy in the afternoons too! Luca’s blooms and gardens are delightful and reminiscent of an Italian renaissance painting with a pair of white peacocks wandering about. Our room was clean, uncomplicated and comfortable, just what we needed for our stay. We fell in love with Paul and Luca’s four VERY friendly dogs who entertained us almost as well as Paul’s stories and anecdotes did, we swam in the immaculate clean pool and all in all thoroughly unwound from our busy city lives. Tranquil Perfection. We did on one of the days drive early in the morning for an hour and a half to Venice and used the pre booked parking in the Autoremissa city car park. It was such an easy way of spending the day in beautiful Venice, getting there super early, beating the crowds and being able to walk easily from the car park but still knowing we were using an approved route. Local villages to the farm are wonderful and scenic and we also like the markets in Udine on Saturdays- a great recommendation from Paul! There’s so much to do locally and our stay at La Faula was amazing we’ll definitely be returning, hopefully very soon!

06/06/2024: Posto spettacolare soprattutto d'estate perché si può stare all' esterno cibo molto buono ed economico, il vino fatto da loro. Posto a gestione familiare

20/06/2024: Restaurant with a trattoria feel! Friendly and fast service, very good cuisine, varied menu with meat and obviously fish. There are special dishes of the day outside the menu. Adequate prices and generous servings! Top mixed fried fish! The only sore point is getting out with the car and trying to go left, it's not forbidden but I strongly advise against it, go right and turn at the petrol station just ahead!

12/07/2024: Ate badly, "fortunately" the quantities were small. Friendly staff, but not trained.

05/07/2024: Se non fosse per la gentilezza della cameriera avrei dato solo un punto. Partiamo dal fatto che non ci sono i menu scritti, quindi … niente prezzi, ma sorpresa alla fine (comunque i prezzi sono ragionevoli… anche se lo sai solo alla fine!) , perché ti viene detto che lo chef cambia in base alle sue idee…(ma scrivere con su un foglio con un computer, è così difficile??? Scelta scarsa… due primi e tre secondi e due contorni… … se trovi bene, altrimenti … ciao, peggio di una mensa!!! Il primo aveva un sugo decisamente troppo asciutto e il secondo, la carne, un po’ dura. Non lo consiglio assolutamente, anzi il locale Alle Valanghe, che si trova a due minuti… decisamente meglio!

02/07/2024: Beautiful bar in a historical context. Beautiful outdoor tables but even more beautiful inside. Excellent coffee shop and refined glasses of wine. Also good for the service

10/08/2024: A little old fashioned place, but menu with lots of choice and really interesting! The pizza was very good, even if the dough made me thirsty during the night.

29/07/2024: Small friendly restaurant. Short menu but fresh food. Sicilian dishes and short but ok local wine list. Most wines by the glass. Very good prices.

27/07/2024: Excellent square, a little forgotten by the service. But it was Monday and only 2 tables to serve. Recommended, perhaps for takeaway, on weekdays.... 😉

20/07/2024: Very good pizza and mixed grill. I recommend the pizza kisses but the strong point is the friendliness of the girls who serve the tables

28/08/2024: A good place where you can eat both pizza and traditional dishes. Excellent choice of very good pizzas. Spacious but not distracting room. Very kind staff.

23/08/2024: We decided one evening to eat here because we had heard about it...let's say it wasn't bad, but not great either. Something in between is appropriate. The fish is good but frozen. It is indicated on the menu. It's a shame that at the seaside they use frozen fish. Anyway, goodnight, come on.
