09/10/2025: I stayed two nights half-board with my family. The rooms were very clean and warm, the food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend stopping for a coffee, too.

24/08/2025: We stayed 10 days in August 2025 with a couple of friends. The friendliness, helpfulness, and cleanliness were top notch. The food was excellent, varied, and plentiful. The value for money was top notch.

15/02/2026: Nestled in the Cassacco countryside, this rustic farmhouse is well-maintained and cared for. I expected more efficient service and more abundant dishes. The price was perhaps a little high for what we ate! Perhaps it wasn't the right evening. 🤔

30/12/2025: Christmas lunch, with a set menu. We learned after lunch, just by asking at the counter, that they were short-staffed due to illness. In fact, the lunch was exhausting, practically five hours, with many courses and very long pauses between them. More than a few dishes were objectively disappointing (the risotto, the egg, the meat in the main course was tough and lacking in salt). We ran out, having reached our limits of patience, without ordering the coffee and biscuits that were scheduled for last on the menu, and anyway, we were charged in full for the set price (plus drinks). The atmosphere is still lovely, and the staff did their best to make sure we were served.

26/01/2026: Our favorite café in Trieste. We always go there with our dog and there are no problems. They never burn the coffee and it's always delicious. Valeria is always very friendly, as are all the staff, and she always gives our dog a little biscuit.

21/01/2026: I had an excellent salad (arugula, lettuce, tuna, eggs, carrots, corn, mozzarella, tomato, olives) and a bottle of water at a truly unbeatable price! Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

22/12/2025: Good food, wonderful owner, wonderful atmosphere... The service could be improved... (I might be old-fashioned, but the drinks arrive first and then the food, the plate is passed around, the dessert cutlery arrives after the dessert... But above all, the table is cleared first and then the other dishes are brought, given the prices I expect proper service.) The appetizers are a bit expensive for the quantity and quality. The desserts are delicious. I'll be back anyway.

07/03/2026: A welcoming, very pleasant location, with a fireplace that immediately makes you feel at home. A nice menu with various interesting fish and meat options. The beautiful round tables are perfect for socializing and chatting with everyone. Service is prompt and fast. The staff is kind and attentive. I really enjoyed it.

15/12/2025: Nice, reasonably well-kept streetside setting, close to the town center. Air-conditioned inside tables. Outdoor tables are also available. Both restaurant and hotel service are available. Friendly and reasonably knowledgeable staff. We had a pizza with good ingredients, but it was a bit heavy, with a slightly under-risen dough and difficult to digest. The tomato and garlic pizza was a surprise, and it was really good considering the ingredients. The fish was decent. The first courses were so-so. Fried food was okay. The aperitif was okay. Parking was limited nearby. Prices were normal.

06/10/2025: A dive into the past of Friulian taverns. A family-run establishment, to be enjoyed at your own leisure. I'm giving the service 4 stars only because of the wait, but there are only two people there, one in the dining room, one in the kitchen. A typical Friulian-Istrian menu, well-prepared home cooking.

01/03/2026: A simply embarrassing experience. We sat down at 1:30 PM and for the first 45 minutes, there was nothing. No one bothered to bring our dishes, no serious explanation. The worst part? We were told three times that they were "plating" and that our dishes would arrive "in 30 seconds." Thirty seconds, which evidently in their world, lasts half an hour. After yet another tease, we even cancelled the fried food just to speed things up. The result? We got up at 4:00 PM. Two and a half hours later, without even having eaten a full meal. When it came time to get the bill, no concrete apology. No gesture to make amends. Not even a coffee, not even a liqueur. In fact, they even had the nerve to charge an extra 5 cents on the total. After such a poor service. It's one thing to have a delay in the kitchen; it can happen. It's another to repeatedly lie to customers and treat them as if they don't understand. The handling of the problem was worse than the wait itself. An experience not to be repeated. If you go, be patient... or bring your own lunch.

14/12/2025: A restaurant just a few meters from the Slovenian border, in a panoramic location. Outdoor and veranda tables, as well as a warm and welcoming interior. Attentive and fast service, a wide selection of traditional Friulian dishes, all locally sourced. Excellent gnocchi with various combinations, frico, polenta brovada, and the superb musetto. Generous portions, excellent house wine. Delicious homemade desserts, and the Storica grappa sorbet is a must-try!

29/11/2025: We went to the Al Confine farmhouse for lunch with friends. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with a special mention for the gnocchi, which were delicious!

17/02/2026: This lovely little restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I found it on Google maps when planning a visit to Forni di Sopra and discovered it had been recently rennovated by new owners. It has a lovely warm ambience and provides a modern twist on traditional local cuisine. We really enjoyed all the dishes we tried and I have to say, the fiochetti pasta with pear and a gorgonzola cream sauce was exquisite!
