18/12/2024: It has definitely fallen lower than it did years ago, perhaps since the reopening onwards? Months ago I had the worst macchiato I've ever had, but never mind, I said to myself, maybe it's just this once. I came back here the other day, ordered a macchiato and again it was terrible! It is clear that it is now impossible to drink good coffee here. Too bad, because the setting is nice and the service friendly.

26/12/2024: Il pranzo di Natale è stato terribile, nella sala grande, i tavoli per l'occasione sono stati ammassati in un numero tale, che si riusciva a stento passare tra gli stessi, la concentrazione delle persone erano a livello di un gregge. Tutti i piatti erano dozzinali, privi di gusto e sapore, sembrava di essere a mangiare in una mensa di un ospedale, solo il vino si salvava.

11/11/2024: We booked a room on the express recommendation of a friend next to a fantastic restaurant according to the reviews. It was closed;(! (Open according to Google!) 22/12/2024: We have gone several times, an obligatory stop when friends and relatives from outside Trieste come to visit us. Cozy place, especially the room on the left furnished with warm colors and giant photos of the Barcolana. Practically all the dishes of Trieste and border cuisine are present (excellent Fusi with chicken sauce and Gulash), both land and sea. Prices in line with other restaurants of similar range, generous portions. Particular note for the staff, very attentive to satisfying customers' needs and always working with a smile.

27/12/2024: Strange experience, at times embarrassing. We entered the almost empty restaurant and were seated near a table where I believe the owner's family and children were spending time. As we sit down, we hear the waiter having a heated conversation with another table (besides us, the only other customers in the place). The food was good, but nothing exceptional. It definitely lacked the wow factor we were hoping for. Wow factor which actually came as a surprise at the end of lunch, when the dog (I presume the owner's) decided to run towards our table and urinate near my wife. Maybe the twist of the house. After receiving an apology and having a laugh not knowing what to say, we pay the bill (without discounts) and say goodbye. Will we return? I do not believe.

07/12/2024: Prenoto cena al Gallo dopo moltissimi anni in quanto ne avevo sentito armate molto bene. Il locale da fuori si presenta molto bene, in location storica di pregio, mentre dentro è molto (troppo?) moderno e secondo me un po’ freddo e privo di personalita. Menu un po’ ristretto e con scelte non troppo fantasiose rispetto a altre realtà della zona. Piatti più che buoni, sopratutto impiattamento. Servizio nella media ma che non brilla. Conto alto.

21/09/2024: Abbiamo pranzato sabato in occasione della festa dei coltelli. Ambiente ben curato, pulito. Personale sorridente e preciso. Menu buono, ottimo Sua maestà il frico e strudel a base di funghi e buona l’idea di chiamarlo menu dei coltelli. Unico, piccolo difetto riscontrato, il troppo tempo tra una portata e l’altra. Sicuramente da tornare.

22/08/2024: Llevé a mi familia aquí para celebrar nuestro traslado a Maniago después de recibir una recomendación de un lugareño. La experiencia fue maravillosa de principio a fin. El personal era muy paciente con nuestro italiano limitado y el servicio era excelente. La comida era tan inesperadamente delicioso y el restaurante es precioso. La encantadora música y el ambiente lo convierten en un lugar perfecto para celebraciones íntimas. Sin duda volveremos para una noche de citas!

27/12/2024: A wonderful discovery. I don't live particularly far from this place, which I hadn't yet had the pleasure of discovering, which is truly perfect for every need: perfectly accessible for wheelchairs and strollers (both without steps and with accessible bathrooms with changing table!), very large room perfect for both families and large groups, with equally ample free parking. EXCEPTIONAL menu, it's been a long time since I ate so well in FVG with both traditional dishes and simple but truly tasty experiments (particular note for the lasagna with porcini mushrooms, walnuts and montasio cream). Since this is a farmhouse with its own wine production, all dishes are already paired with an exceptional wine. I'm not a lover of alcohol but the Chardonnay grappa (always home-made) that they offered at the end of the meal was incredible, tasty, fragrant like few things. The staff was incredibly positive: very kind, helpful, always with a smile and ready to give information. I don't understand why other reviews say that the price is excessive: we took 2 first courses, 1 second course, 2 desserts, 2 glasses, water and we spent a total of 30 euros, which is really little especially in times like these where to buy a bottle of olive oil you find yourself in debt like when you pass through Victory Park at Monopoly. Highly recommended, we will definitely return! 💜

25/12/2024: Fantastic Christmas lunch. It does not disappoint expectations. Really excellent food, with refined dishes with attention to flavors and colors. The wine list is excellent. Welcoming and relaxing location, very well looked after. Advise.
