19/02/2026: We stopped by with the family by chance, the restaurant was full of workers so I thought the food would be simple but good, instead we ordered à la carte and we were pleasantly surprised, everything was excellent, even the elaborate dishes.

29/04/2026: Simple but very good food, with a very friendly owner. In the summer, you can dine on the terrace. There's a workers' menu at lunch. Pizza is available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and there are plenty of themed evenings. The grill is excellent.

16/05/2026: A corner of paradise in the hills of Friuli: Agriturismo Al Vecchio Gelso Nestled in the beautiful hills of Prepotto, on the border with Slovenia, Agriturismo Al Vecchio Gelso is one of those places that instantly conveys peace, relaxation, and authenticity. Surrounded by the greenery, tranquility, and vineyards of eastern Friuli, this agriturismo, created by the Stanig brothers, represents a true local excellence. Our experience began with a visit to the small winery adjacent to the agriturismo, where we had the pleasure of learning about and tasting some truly extraordinary wines. From the refreshing Ribollicina to the excellent Schioppettino, Prepotto's signature wine, every glass speaks of the terroir, passion, and tradition of this splendid Friulian winery. After the winery tour, thanks to a beautiful sunny day, the owner invited us outside under the splendid pergola: a wonderful, relaxing, and authentic atmosphere, perfect for enjoying lunch immersed in nature. At Agriturismo Al Vecchio Gelso, the menu changes monthly, reflecting seasonality and local produce. In May, we had the pleasure of savoring excellent, high-quality cured meats, accompanied by truly exquisite pickled vegetables and aged cheeses. The San Daniele prosciutto was also extraordinary, simply exceptional. As for the first courses, we were won over by the tagliolini with asparagus and smoked pancetta and, above all, the homemade gnocchi with white duck sauce: a sublime dish, rich in flavor and prepared with great care. The second courses were also excellent, all accompanied by excellent, traditional Friulian polenta. I chose the delicious pork cheek in a Schioppettino reduction, tender and flavorful, while my friends enjoyed the herb frittata and the ever-present frico con patate, a true symbol of Friulian cuisine. All this was accompanied by excellent wines from the Stanig winery: from the basic Schioppettino to the extraordinary Schioppettino 18.5 Riserva DOC 2020, elegant wines perfect for a lunch with friends, characterized by conviviality and quality. To conclude on a high note, we tasted an excellent Domenis Storica Nera grappa, admiring the surrounding landscape: green hills, silence, nature, and a feeling of absolute relaxation. A truly wonderful experience in every way: excellent cuisine, excellent wines, fairytale landscapes, and above all, a wonderful welcome from the entire Stanig brothers' staff, whose passion and professionalism make Agriturismo Al Vecchio Gelso a place we'll gladly return to.

29/03/2026: A beautiful venue nestled in the green Friulian hills. High-quality wines, especially the Schioppettino. Excellent service and a perfect menu for both dinner and lunch. Highly recommended.

27/04/2026: Excellent restaurant-pizzeria. Reservations are required. It's a welcoming place with traditional cuisine. The pizza chef is one of the best. The pizzas are fantastic. The desserts sell out quickly, they're incredibly good. I think you should reserve them as soon as you sit down. The restaurant is in a good location with plenty of parking.
