07/04/2026: I've dined at Ristorante Gastaldia twice, and on both occasions, I can't quite put into words the relaxation and pleasure I felt sitting at the table. The atmosphere is shaped by the energy of the place, the intimate setting, the courteous and welcoming staff, and a menu I consider refined yet substantial, thanks to its composition and the combination of wild herbs that ensure the dishes are both flavorful and harmonious, both on the palate and the eye. The Spaghetti with wild garlic, a masterpiece.

23/03/2026: A STOP WORTH THE DETOUR In the rich food and wine scene in Lignano and the surrounding area, this is truly a gem that stands out. First, its strategic location along the main sea routes, then the unexpected tranquility offered by Gorgo, a handful of houses nestled where the Tagliamento River makes its sinuous curves. The church, a few homes, and this address deserves to be noted in your diary. Modern interiors, thoughtful background music, and a very helpful staff. And above all, it's open year-round, a clear sign that this isn't a quick bite, but rather a precise concept. The seafood menu features excellent ingredients. The raw fish is excellent, and the calamari spillo is amazing—for us, the best dish of the evening. A decent wine list with fine local wines. In summer, you can sit outside in the spacious courtyard. Worth a visit.

Excellent food, featuring both traditional Friulian and valley dishes. Excellent service, fast and friendly waitress. Highly recommended.

05/05/2026: I can't justify the high prices. I ordered a first course off the menu for €20, a pasta dish with tomato, bell pepper, and capers. I didn't taste the capers, and the bell pepper flavor—not to be mean, but it reminded me of pasta from kindergarten. Not satisfied, I tried the tagliolini with cavolo nero... the sauce was uneven, the pasta tasted bland, and the overall flavor was very weak. Back to the price: I don't understand how a pasta dish can cost €20 when the meat costs a few euros more. Something's wrong. As for the meat, I ordered a cube roll with enzymatic aging, but the flavor lacked any of the aromas that aging usually provides. And to think, a few days ago I ate a dry-aged T-bone that cost the same amount in Portugal, and that's a whole different story. Unfortunately, as soon as I tasted this, I immediately thought I'd rather choose a better cut at the supermarket and cook it at home; I would have appreciated it more. Furthermore, the estimated weight was 300g. I'm attaching a photo; I think it probably didn't reach 200g. Deeply disappointed. Nothing to say about the location or the service; I just don't think it's worth the price if you're looking for a large dinner for an occasion.

14/02/2026: This was my first time here. First of all, I appreciate the parking next to the restaurant, reserved for customers only. The atmosphere is that of a high-end trattoria: well-kept, warm, and welcoming. The variety of dishes offered is good (keeping in mind that it's not logical to expect a very extensive menu from a trattoria), with a focus on local and seasonal produce. For my appetizer, I had an off-menu item that I highly recommend: baked radicchio with horseradish, pears, and Montasio cheese! For my main course, I shared a rib-eye steak with my "colleague" of the evening: excellent meat, cooked practically perfectly. At the table, the plate was placed on a hot stone to maintain the meat's temperature: not everyone does this! Spinach and bruade were served as side dishes. All very good! I really appreciated some of the flavors that characterize the local cuisine: the spiciness of the horseradish, the acidity of the bruade. The staff is courteous and attentive. Wait times are minimal. The bill was in line with expectations, but one small point: given the size of the total, a small discount of €1.70 could have been considered just to round out the total. Recommended if you're in the area; worth a visit.

Various regional wines available to accompany the dishes. Excellent homemade desserts. Good selection of digestives. Also a tobacconist, selling cigarettes and scratch cards.
