16/09/2025: Highly recommended for those who want to savor authentic Friulian flavors in a warm and authentic atmosphere! A truly unmissable osteria in the heart of San Daniele! 🌟 I started with a lard appetizer accompanied by pickled vegetables, simple yet meticulously flavored. For my first course, I chose the ever-present San Daniele prosciutto, served impeccably and truly sublime. As a side dish, I chose a trio of cheeses (ricotta, tomino, and mozzarella), each seasoned with care and flavor, showcasing the ingredients to their fullest. All this was accompanied by a local DOC white wine, crisp and perfectly paired with the dishes. To finish, a homemade tiramisu that was a true delight, creamy and irresistible. The bill was absolutely reasonable for the quality and generous portions. The restaurant is welcoming, family-run, and immediately makes you feel at ease: kindness and hospitality are the hallmarks. On a positive note, the parking spaces on the opposite side of the street are convenient and affordable. On a positive note: I arrived at 2:30 PM, thinking it was too late to eat, but instead they greeted me with a smile, found me a quiet table, and started the meal with fabulous breadsticks.

26/08/2025: I haven't eaten so well in years... a perfect balance of quality, knowledge, and aesthetics. Congratulations!!! Everyone is good, everyone does things well and deliciously, but no one manages to do them in an original, simple, and authentic way. Nothing to add, just try it 🙌🏻

13/09/2025: The pizza is always excellent, but the atmosphere is a bit noisy; if there are two of you, it's best to ask to be seated in the aisle. The pizza with mortadella and the one with smoked ricotta are fabulous. Update: I've been back to Pippo's several times, discovered the rustic pizza, and fell in love with it. Every time I make a reservation, I just ask to be seated in the aisle, and everyone is always available. If there are a lot of us, anything goes. In short: it's my favorite pizzeria, noise or not 😍

29/08/2025: A very friendly welcome and service from the waitresses. The appetizer plate for four was a delight. The main courses, spare ribs, tagliata, and one with porchetta, were simply delicious, along with the house-made schioppettino. And then the desserts, homemade and wonderful. We'll be back.

28/08/2025: What makes a small village restaurant so special is its hospitality and delicious dishes. Two antipasti to share, two primi, including the cjarsons (mentioned in a previous review), and a dessert accompanied by a fine bottle of wine provided a wonderful end to our holiday. Friendly people who also knew how to handle our dog.

01/10/2025: Very carefully prepared dishes of absolute quality, 7-star food. Very friendly and helpful staff in a rather basic location—I'd say very basic—near the busy bus route and the Trieste Transport bus park, with its attendant noise and pollution. It's a shame, but the rest is highly recommended!

12/09/2025: A must if you want a feel for the real Treste. Real Italian food by genuine Italian staff. Food was excellent quality, staff was just perfect. We hadn't any Italian and were mad fee very welcome.

07/09/2025: We stopped by for Sunday lunch. The location is truly beautiful. The food and service are average. Nothing special. From a place where there's reserved parking for Rolls Royces and bottles costing hundreds of euros, I expect impeccable service and a different image.... Waiters in t-shirts are simply unheard of, and I didn't find the excellence of the food that's so much touted. The place is overrated, but if that's how the customers like it, good for them.

27/08/2025: I've rarely been so disappointed by a renowned fish restaurant. Even as a teenager, our father took us to Vitello d'Oro for special occasions, and whenever I was in Udine and had time, I visited this restaurant, remembering the wonderful meals with my parents and the excellent cuisine. Today, the restaurant is an example of what happens when you betray tradition and fail to embrace modernization—such as fusion cuisine. It becomes nothing more than an expensive fish restaurant, living off its former name and failing to live up to the standards of the past or present. And there's not even a hint of fine cuisine... My companion and I ate the following dishes: - "Datemi una sarda!" - "Ravioli, capra, bottarga e limone" and the house specialty as a Piatto iconico – the signature dish - "Risotto di Scampi & Scampi" Even before the first course, we were served olive oil butter with herbs on a river stone, which unfortunately only tasted of stone, not olive oil with herbs. The sardine pieces, in a cold cucumber soup (?), were still somewhat edible, albeit lacking the authentic flavor, but the smoky smell allowed us to eat them without tasting the sardines. The nine tiny ravioli, however, which we had been particularly looking forward to because of their goat cheese filling, were a real disappointment. Instead of the flavor of cheese wrapped in the delicate pasta of a ravioli, all we tasted was a watery, fishy mass, whose pungent fishy smell made us nauseous. We love eating fish and highly value fish eggs, but what we smelled was worse than a dirty Adriatic harbor after a hot summer day. Incredibly bad! We sent the dish back. Hoping that the house specialty would still taste good, we weren't too disappointed (the bread in the basket tasted good, and that made the wait more bearable), but then came pure disappointment: the worst risotto we've ever eaten. Not only was the rice undercooked—and I'm not talking about "al dente!" here, because cooking "al dente" is a prerequisite for a good risotto (you can see from the photo that the rice isn't al dente, but still raw!). The risotto from the once-good restaurant "Vitello d'Oro" was raw, watery, and not creamy, with two or three tiny pieces of scampi and three raw pieces of scampi placed on top, garnished with a thick line of pepper. The amount of risotto would have filled maybe 2-3 tablespoons, and the scampi were cut improperly and not removed properly. The pepper line consisted of pepper and herbs – ruining what little flavor the risotto had! We couldn't eat the risotto either, so we asked for the bill and left the restaurant without dessert. €165.00 without having really eaten and without knowing what we were actually being served! I must add that the service was very attentive, but almost irritating and annoying. There's nothing here that reminds you of Italian lightness, joie de vivre, and epicurean desires. It's an overpriced restaurant; after that, even a street pizzeria would be a pleasant and welcome change. For me, Vitello d'Oro is history – literally.

19/08/2025: I went there for the first time, the food was excellent, and they had AMAZING cappelunghe off the menu. The rest was excellent, with a great selection of wines. Highly recommended.

03/09/2025: Highly recommended restaurant in Lignano Pineta, especially for those who want to escape the typical tourist restaurants along the main street. The owner is very helpful, friendly, and welcoming! Excellent quality food... it's now a regular stop when I go to Lignano. Highly recommended!
