Osteria Pieri Mortadella in Udine is a small, very charming, and quaint restaurant. On a warm summer evening, we sat right in the back by the large mortadella, the restaurant's signature dish, from which fresh slices were constantly being cut. There, ham, sausage, and other specialties were sliced ​​right in front of the guests. It was particularly impressive how carefully and hygienically everything was done, as the slicing machine was constantly being cleaned, and everything looked very clean and tidy. The selection ranges from small canapés to various assortments on wooden boards with ham, cheese, or other specialties. Everything was fresh, delicious, and uncomplicated. The drinks were also good, and the host was very friendly. A particular highlight was the end of the meal: Our bill came to €32. I wanted to round it up to €35, but the owner insisted on charging only €30. Such hospitality is rare. A true little gem in Udine with an authentic atmosphere and a big heart. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the first place we stopped in on our visit to Udine as it was across from where we were staying. It quickly became a regular stop for us at the end of a day to relax and listen to sound of the water running under the outdoor seating.

Very nice personal and friendly service. The atmosphere of the space is amazing both indoor and outdoor. The food is very basic and the menu is simple. I would have loved if there were some salad options and whole grain bread sandwiches as well. The mortadella is their signature.

The place is quaint, with staff ready to guide you through a Friulian culinary experience. I thank Martina for her attentive service and excellent pairing suggestions. Highly recommended.
