09/03/2026: I'd love to give a review, but unfortunately, Google's hours haven't been updated. So, when we arrived in Aquileia and found this beautiful restaurant on Google, we went on a Thursday evening, obviously thinking it was open because Google said it was open. Instead, right outside the door, the new hours from 2026 are posted. It was a huge disappointment... I absolutely recommend you update the hours on Google.

08/03/2026: A unique place, rich in flavors and history, with traditional home cooking. After the flood, they reopened quickly thanks to the help of many volunteers. An example for everyone!! 👏👏

10/03/2026: This restaurant, with a wood-fired oven and outdoor grills in the summer, has one of those summer terraces under the stars that's worth three times the price of a table. From the university hill, the view is remarkable, the kind that makes you crane your neck over your dinner to admire it. It's been run by the same family all their lives. It's always been a benchmark for the quality and deliciousness of its pizzas: dough with just the right fermentation, a wood-fired oven that does its job, and honest cuisine based on experience, consistency, and zero unnecessary complications. For those unfamiliar with the pizza menu: the Manuel pizza, with shredded meat, abundant arugula, and shaved parmesan, is unique, fragrant, and surprisingly light. On the other end of the spectrum is the Zola e Pancetta: a burst of strong, crunchy, and memorable flavors. It's not shy, but not arrogant, either, despite being memorable. The first courses deserve attention. There's often excellent fresh homemade pasta, and after a couple of forkfuls, you immediately realize that Grandma is still busy in the kitchen. Then, for the meat, between the griddle and the grill, Mr. Toni steps in. And there, you're on the safe side. A guarantee.

09/02/2026: We found this charming and very well-maintained place almost by chance, especially at the last minute. We were immediately welcomed like family, even though we arrived just as the kitchen was closing. The food was really good. We had a couple of starters and some exceptional pizzas.

11/03/2026: Hosteria Alla Vecchia Pesa in Orgnano is a traditional Friulian restaurant, combining the rustic charm of yesteryear with a contemporary focus on quality ingredients. The dishes are excellent and varied. The service is courteous and efficient.

20/02/2026: Hosteria Alla Vecchia Pesa is one of those places that immediately makes you feel at home, and then completely wins you over with its food. From the starters of local cold cuts and cheeses to the first courses of the Friulian tradition, every dish is well prepared, generous, and made with excellent local ingredients. The main courses change with the seasons and let you try both hearty traditional cuisine and slightly more creative dishes, always well executed. The homemade desserts are excellent too, and so is the wine. The atmosphere of the osteria is warm and welcoming: the rustic interior, the village of Orgnano, and the friendly service create the ideal setting for a dinner with friends or as a couple. The staff are kind, attentive without being intrusive, and know how to recommend both the daily specials and the wines to pair.

15/01/2026: I had the opportunity to try the restaurant for lunch on New Year's Day. Truly refined and carefully prepared dishes featuring all the typical regional flavors. Excellently served, because as they say, you can also eat with your eyes. The prices are certainly not cheap, but the quality is there and you can taste it!

05/01/2026: Aperitif with CRAL SAN BENEDETTO, a wonderful experience and a truly amazing aperitif. The very attentive owner and his smiling staff took us on a tasting of their delicacies, and more. A place that makes you feel right at home, with the right attention to detail.

I think it's very well known among the locals because it was packed... highly recommended for those like us who are passing through... we stumbled upon it by chance... but it's truly the best!!!!

13/11/2025: This time, I was completely sold on the trattoria in every way. A special mention goes to the waiters. They were all very kind and helpful, and to the choice of only having wines from nearby wineries. Otherwise, everything was truly good, and the prices were fair. The cover charge could perhaps be lower, but they were still good!

10/03/2026: March 10, 2026 We went for lunch, and the owner recommended the raw food platter as their signature dish! I know the food very well, so I wouldn't recommend this option without going into details! For the main course, they cooked an excellent baked sea bream with vegetables!
