25/03/2025: That fantastic Thursday is over the years and in all seasons a confirmation of excellent catering and quality.
The menu is always adequate, varied enough and is renewed from time to time.
The staff is very kind, respectful and worthy. The environment is elegant and refined, but also very hospitable and welcoming. In short, a mix of refinement, luxury and humility...very rare and effective.
Very honest prices, considering that for many imitations you pay even 20/30% more in the city.
24/03/2025: We had lunch with the family taking advantage of our visit to Ferrara.
As usual, for the choice of restaurants we rely on the Michelin guide, but this time with this restaurant I don't think it has reached the standard of a restaurant in the Michelin guide that we usually find in the places we go.
The girl who caught and served us is really good and kind, while the same is not true for the older lady who I assume is either the owner or in any case in charge of the room. In fact, apart from the joke about having ordered a few dishes (unfortunately my mother has undergone stomach surgery so she can't eat too much and for this reason, even though there were 4 of us, we ordered for 3, but in any case I'm a paying customer so the reason for my choices shouldn't matter), at a certain point during the change of tables of two couples I noticed with regret that to bring the dishes he placed everything on the sofa at the entrance to the restaurant, where people constantly pass by and you can also sit there, so not much hygienic considering that the diners will then carry those cutlery into their mouths. Furthermore, one of these couples was told to bring their jacket into the closet, which we are not here either, firstly because it is a service that you as manager of the place should do and secondly because on the other hand in that closet there are everyone's overcoats, and it is not certain that the lady who was given authorization to wander around inside the closet was an honest person or could rummage through other people's jackets and bags.
Moving on to the food, if they focused more on tradition they could even get to the Michelin star, everything we ordered, including desserts, traditional was really excellent, while the passatelli asciutti were really bland and above all they had exceeded the cooking time by a long time, while the passatello must maintain a certain consistency otherwise the yield of such a simple and peasant dish but also delicious at the same time would be ruined.
Another point to bring to attention is the selection of focaccias and breads to be consumed while waiting or together with the dishes, usually in restaurants a much more refined selection is offered and above all the breads and gnocchi are not so reheated but always have the consistency and flavor of freshly baked bread or in any case made that same morning.
For the choice of wines, well, what can I say, isn't there a sommelier in the room? Because the girl, as cute as she was, wasn't able to tell us exactly what to pair with the dishes, but I don't think it was her fault, someone should take care of the drinking part and accompany the customer in learning about the wine he's pairing with the dish.
In short, after various experiences in Michelin guide restaurants I wonder why this place appears, it is truly excellent as a tavern but not enough to deserve the attention of such a selection.

17/02/2025: The food is excellent: I tried the potato tortellini with porcini mushrooms, a delicious dish. The service is fast and the staff, kind and welcoming, helps to make the experience even more pleasant. The value for money is really super! I won't say too much about the wine, as I'm a teetotaler, but the rest is definitely worth trying!

16/02/2025: Abbiamo mangiato in questo locale dopo una gita a Castell’Arquato. Locale ben curato, dotato di parcheggio e al di fuori del borgo. Abbiamo optato per due fuori menu di antipasto e primo: buonissimi. Ottime anche la giardiniera e l’insalata russa. Sicuramente ci torneremo.
16/01/2025: Storica trattoria che ha mantenuto negli anni uno standard qualitativo molto elevato. Frequentavo questo luogo già sessant'anni orsono con mio padre e non sono mai rimasto deluso. Salumi eccellenti, saporiti e stagionati al punto giusto, primi piatti della tradizione ottimi così come i secondi. Cantina ben fornita con ricarichi corretti e conto onesto. L'unico appunto riguarda il servizio che pur molto cortese non è stato celere, almeno in questo caso, ma era un sabato sera col locale pieno. Concludo dicendo che il ristorante a mio avviso è vivamente consigliabile non ve ne pentirete

10/03/2025: My wife and I are in Italy on our honeymoon and visited the restaurant because of its status on the Michelin guide. The entire experience was brilliant. The food tasted wonderful, cozy and delicious. The staff were very kind, attentive and really took time to explain the different dishes to us and all of our options. Of course, Chef Andrea is a very welcoming and warm person. He greets everyone at the door and is ecstatic to greet everyone. The food was similar to other food we have had from fantastic restaurants. We went to Osteria Francescana two days before visiting here and found the food and service to be of a similar quality. The two restaurants are very different from one another but we ultimately preferred the warm, delicious flavors of the food and the personal touch of the staff. I would highly recommend making it here for dinner.
10/03/2025: Sensational experience! The chef and the staff are very profesionnal and welcoming. The quality of the food and the warmth of the people are definitely in line with the regional trademark. It is very nice to see how involved the chef is with the management of this family business (from the quality of the homegrown ingredients to the choice of the graphics on the bottles of the home made wine).

Very well executed with beautiful colors apart from the dessert in my opinion, although excellent it seems "pulled on the plate".

Very good and competent who knows how to direct you very well on what to drink also explaining to me the reason for a certain type of wine rather than another.
Small flaw
The presossero is never considered a course so the TASTING menu REALLY EXCELLENT, is composed of 6 dishes and a presossero.
Price more than adequate for the quality offered and
22/02/2025: Valentine's Day lunch. Very suggestive location with a maritime but refined theme. The waiters are very polite and the dishes extremely refined.
I ate very well and would go back, the chef even came to make sure that everything was to our liking once lunch was over.
Important bill but you pay for quality. For special occasions.

02/03/2025: First time I've tried a starred restaurant, I dare say I was Ecstatic. The care of the place, the minimal but perfect setting makes you understand that you are looking for perfection. The kind and polite welcome from the entrance seats you at the table. We (me and my daughter who likes to experiment) chose the tasting menu, what can I say, EXCEPTIONAL. Perfect essential dishes cared for and processed to the top EXCELLENT RESEARCH AND PROCESSING OF RAW MATERIALS. THE ROOM SERVICE I WOULD DARE SAY IMPECCABLE (KNOWLEDGE, PREPARATION, AND EXCELLENT PRESENCE) NOT INVASIVE BUT ALWAYS ON THE PIECE AND ATTENTIVE TO SERVICE TIMES. WE HAD TO WAIT A FEW WEEKS TO GO AND EXPERIMENT (AFTER THERE A RESTAURANT SO IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR IT TO BE EMPTY) BUT IT WAS WORTH IT... THANKS TO THE CHEF WHO COME OUT OF THE KITCHEN TO THANK US AND FOR US SHAKING HIS HAND WAS TRULY A PLEASURE AND OF NATURAL THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL YOUR STAFF WHO MADE THIS EXPERIENCE UNFORGETTABLE FOR US... 23/02/2025: We went for the first time last night and I can't help but praise everything... from the venue, to the service and above all to the excellent dishes, including homemade bread, biscuits and everything that accompanied our dinner!
We tried the tasting menu and everything was excellent.
The owners are very nice and the dining room staff is very attentive to all your needs
If I could give more stars I would
We will definitely return even though it is miles away for us!
