15/03/2026: Meh... A nice pizzeria overall, mind you, but they handle takeout a bit poorly. I ordered a pizza off the menu and asked for it sliced. When it arrived, some ingredients were missing and it wasn't sliced. The dough was a bit heavy, and it was definitely worse when cold (and therefore takeout).

06/03/2026: The place is very nice and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired. The fries on the pizzas were cold and soggy; they didn't taste like fries. The dough was rubbery, and overall, the pizzas were unpleasant.

13/03/2026: What a pleasure it was to eat at this friendly restaurant. We had the linguine with scampi, and spaghetti carbonara. The accompaniments were tasty. The owners greeted us warmly, and were as helpful as could be. There was a table of around 20 people nearby celebrating the 2nd birthday of a toddler, and the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating to them. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for inexpensive and satisfying meals.

06/06/2025: Very nice restaurant with good food and very friendly service. A very warm welcome from the kitchen, good Prosecco, and a fantastic dessert (caramel cocoa tart)! We'd be happy to go back! The waiter made a real effort to speak Italian slowly, so we were able to understand him well despite our holiday Italian. So much more pleasant than being spoken to in English despite having limited Italian skills :)

14/02/2026: I went with my wife and children, one of whom is celiac and lactose intolerant. He had no problems, no restrictions on his choice of pizza or fries...he ordered everything and was very satisfied! We also had an exceptional pizza, made with Neapolitan dough! Even the coffee at the table is meticulously prepared: the cup is covered with a special, leak-proof lid that keeps the coffee as hot as if it were being drunk at the counter! The staff is very courteous and professional. Highly recommended.

08/02/2026: The pizza and the fried food recommended to us were good, but we were a bit crowded at the table even though the place wasn't crowded. I'll definitely be back; one of the best pizzas I've had in Basilicata (Neapolitan dough).

01/11/2025: We had lunch at La Roulette, and I must say it was truly a pleasure! The meat was delicious, and the cuisine was excellent. The owner, Michele, was extremely hospitable and professional, as were all the friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal in a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

06/03/2026: What a shame!!! Taking advantage just because you're a tourist. Don't bring a few appetizers with two aperitifs, then ask if you'd like anything and say yes to the owner. He'll bring you crostini, which you have to pay for separately. Total: one Aperol Spritz A glass of Prosecco Plus the crostini, total: €26 Congratulations!!!

08/12/2025: We had an exceptional stay, warmly welcomed by the owners, and the room was clean and warm upon our arrival. The owners, Benito, his mother, and Carmelo, were all incredibly helpful and kind, accommodating every request, even the most unexpected, making us feel at home. The traditional local dishes were spectacular and of the highest quality, all prepared locally. The property, surrounded by greenery, made our stay truly unique. We'll definitely be back!

Making everything even more special was Donato's kindness and impeccable attention in the dining room, making you feel like you were at the center of a complete sensory experience. Through the glass separating the kitchen from the dining room, I glimpsed a close-knit team, smiling, orderly, and impeccably clean: silence, precision, harmony—almost a dance that contributed to the truly magical atmosphere. The restaurant, carved into the Matera tuff rock, is an architectural spectacle: intimate, elegant, and authentic. Every detail exudes passion and respect for the land that hosts it. Donato's wine selection is an exciting journey through Basilicata and Europe, with perfect pairings that enhance each dish, showcasing the finest ingredients and creativity. An experience to be relived and re-lived many times in a lifetime, because in places like this, time stands still, and taste becomes pure emotion. We'll definitely be back!

04/10/2025: What a treasure in Matera. Beautiful delicious food, pretty setting, friendly and attentive service. Great value, too. Loved the wine pairings and the concept of being able to assemble your own tasting menu. Chef is in the kitchen himself. The Michelin star is well deserved.

20/02/2026: Welcoming place. Luciano and his staff were extremely kind and attentive to every need. We had the honor of having lunch on a rather busy day as the Carnival float parade was underway. They recommended the rafanata, a truly delicious traditional Stigliano Carnival dish. I hope to return soon. Everything else about the lunch was top-notch. 👍 Thank you.

17/11/2025: Reading the name of this place I thought of warmth and genuine food, purely local. But I changed my mind, I only found commercial products from the supermarket for which I paid well above the average.

15/02/2026: At the lady's recommendation, we chose the house antipasti, traditional local dishes, truly appetizing and fresh. Then came the cavatelli with chunky ragù and an entrecote with fried potatoes. These dishes also exceeded our expectations. The service was very friendly and attentive. 16/11/2025: The place is very nice and the staff very attentive. I ordered a filet alla Rossini because I was craving meat. They asked me how I wanted it cooked and explained that it would come with potatoes and Madeira sauce. When I cut into my steak, it turned out to be a beet! I couldn't believe it. It wasn't even good enough for a vegan dish. A vegan dish is prepared, not just a boiled beet. Anyway, they replaced it and admitted their mistake. They brought me some very well-prepared meat, but a very small portion. And everything was very expensive. But the beet incident will go down in history as a funny anecdote.
