Carved into a rock, the restaurant embodies the very essence of Matera. Centrally located yet far from the invasive tourist crowds, it can also be reached by car with the appropriate permits. The modern interior contrasts harmoniously with the restored ancient stone. The table setting is simple and refined, with one noteworthy detail: dedicated lighting above each table, designed to highlight the food served. A unique location that alone justifies the visit.

Excellent in every way: selection, variety, creativity, presentation. Each dish is the result of careful study, with a narrative involving ingredients, cutlery, and tableware, a multi-sensory experience. You don't just eat: you experience a journey. Such a strong coherence between idea and execution is rare. The wine list is worthy of note, with a carefully selected and extensive selection.

Precise, welcoming, professional. The food and wine recommendations are spot on. The only limitation is numerical: additional staff in the dining room would ensure even greater fluidity. The menu selection via QR code is less appealing, as it clashes with the level of experience and forces the use of a phone in a context that deserves the opposite.

Significant, but justified. The quality of the ingredients, the creativity, and the care put into each individual dish are reflected in the price. You pay for serious work, and it's worth it.

I often frequent restaurants of this caliber and can honestly say this is my favorite.
Here you experience the true and much-celebrated "sensory journey":
Sight: I absolutely loved the attention to detail in the plating (especially the original dish with the chef's signature).
Smell: You could smell all the aromas of the various ingredients on the plate.
Hearing: Order the "ultimo bacio" dessert and you'll understand why. The way they say goodbye to the customer at the end of the dinner was highly original and much appreciated.
Touch: The cigar dessert was very reminiscent of authentic Cuban desserts.
Taste: There wasn't a single dish I didn't appreciate.

It was a lunch, indeed, THE best lunch we could have had.
From the location, to the excellent service, with explanations and willingness to answer all our questions, to the entire course.
Each course transports you to a world of its own, made of flavors, balances, and sensations.
Everything was so perfect and so right, with unexpected pairings, but at the same time, true flavor discoveries.
The sea bass and ravioli are a must-try!!
If you have the chance, I highly recommend trying it!

We went to Vitantonio Lombardo and had a truly wonderful time: the dishes were top-notch, carefully prepared, and incredibly tasty.
The service was perfect, and Jonathan made the experience even better: very professional and knowledgeable, yet friendly and approachable, which is not a given in restaurants of this caliber.
The location is truly charming and elegant.
It was a wonderful evening: we'll gladly return.

Always worth a visit. The restaurant scores points with its regionally typical atmosphere, good cuisine, and a friendly owner. The dishes are well-crafted with only minor flaws. It was a lovely way to end 2025.

Food was excellent, service started out great, but became bad by the end of the meal.
We think server got very busy and was overwhelmed. After dropping last course server failed to acknowledge our table for 25 minutes, never asking if we wanted coffee or anything else, we had no water or drinks on table.
We finally got up and walked to front door to pay, where we waiting in line, since another table was doing the same thing.
Food was spectacular, the service at end of evening would be unacceptable at bar, so obviously far below expectations of a Michelin restaurant
