07/08/2024: This is a VERY authentic Italian experience. It’s not touristy, not a gorgeous view, but they cook SO GOOD FOOD! It was soooo delicious, you guys have to try it!

22/08/2024: Everything of an exceptional standard. 3 times in 3 years. I hope to return. Quality raw materials, imperial raw materials with excellent seafood experience. Sommelier, attentive, friendly and prepared. His colleague is a little less so.

21/08/2024: Excellent restaurant that courageously emerges from a chorus that always and only navigates between tradition (little) and tourism, without thinking too much about the quality of the dish and offering something new, different. A beautiful experience, a restaurant with attention to detail and the possibility of drinking excellent drinks as well as wines. There are small details that can be improved to adjust the aim a little but in the end they are of little importance and are not strictly necessary. All at one. acceptable price for the quality of both food and drink. Essenza is a virtuous initiative, with the right courage, to which I wish luck in the years to come. We will be back.

10/08/2024: Ambiente semplice ed elegante nella magica atmosfera di un sasso Materano. Servizio impeccabile sapientemente gestito da un Maitre/Sommelier a dir poco fantastico. Il menu' proposto dallo Chef riesce a farti viaggiare nel mondo del gusto facendoti vivere sensazioni piacevoli con una continua esaltazione del palato. Sara' un piacere ritornarci. Credo che consigliarlo a chiunque sia di passaggio a Matera sia il " minimo". Complimenti.

23/08/2024: Great food and atmosphere, excellent value. We had pasta with beans ‘pasta e fagioli’ it was excellent. The mixed grill of meat and their own fried potatoes was equally excellent. Very good house wine. For 5 people we paid less than €100. Definitely worth a visit

16/08/2024: abbiamo trascorso il Ferragosto in famiglia ci aspettavamo di più da questa agriturismo soprattutto vedere i cavalli…. Locale piccolo ma accogliente e cucina tipicamente locale adatto a chi ama mangiare cibi tradizionali…. personale gentile peccato però che faceva troppo caldo in sala ed eravamo un po’ tutti sofferenti….

18/08/2024: Welcoming location with large, well-lit outdoor space. Ample parking availability both in the restaurant and in the surrounding buildings. Quite varied choice of pizzas also considering the possibility of choosing different types of dough. I took a "Birra tra Amici" pizza (with beer dough) which disappointed me, the dough was excessively crunchy and the toppings had a particular taste, especially the sautéed arugula which was not to my liking. The experience was particularly bad because we waited almost 2 hours (literally) to get the pizza. Although the waiters apologized for the inconvenience, I still believe that such a service is not acceptable.

29/08/2024: Super breakfasts. Good pastry shop, kind and friendly staff, we are traveling with two large dogs, although they have a ban on dogs inside the pastry bar because something probably happened that should and could have been avoided, they were able to see that our dogs are good, so they let us in without any problem. So we want to thank them above all for this.

11/08/2024: Excellent ice cream, friendly environment and friendly and efficient staff. Also recommended for a quick aperitif.
