15/08/2025: I regret having to give this restaurant a negative review due to the poor behavior of our server. When we asked for two glasses, we were told they didn't serve glasses, but 35cl bottles. The excessive price of the wine we ordered wasn't mentioned, which the waiter should have done. When we received the bill, we were charged a whopping €35 for a bottle of wine.
26/07/2025: I've been going to this wonderful little gem for many years, and the food has always been good.
But last night I was truly disappointed.
Roasted sausages clearly made with spoiled meat; they took everything back, but with a clear understanding of what they were serving. Lamb chops with no meat, just bones!
I'm sorry, it was a reference point.

11/12/2025: What a shame!!
We went to this restaurant on New Year's Eve 2024/2025 and New Year's Day, and we had fantastic food. The quality was excellent (although the service was very slow). On Sunday, December 7, we went again, having booked a week in advance. When we arrived, they told us it wasn't possible because the restaurant was full and we'd arrived too late (coming from Rome and with a dog). We'd given 1:30/2:00 PM... disappointed, we left. However, looking around the dining room, you could see annoyed faces, probably due to the slow service... maybe that's why they didn't even offer to wait if a table became available.
27/11/2025: Very bad experience. The bathrooms were rundown, the prices were high, and the food was mediocre. Everyone was rude. Never again.

01/12/2025: A typical Castel di Sangro restaurant, rustic in style, serving good-quality, freshly prepared, traditional cuisine. It's not a huge restaurant, but there are outdoor tables. I recommend choosing from the many meat specialties and pasta dishes with rich, flavorful sauces. Located in the historic center of town. Prices are reasonable. Book ahead.
03/11/2025: A place without too many expectations. Classic home cooking, everything well-cooked: fresh pasta made on the spot, cheese and egg ballotte (perhaps more bread and egg), good grilled caciocavallo, average arrosticini, and dessert: a classic crunchy parfait.
A positive note was that they kindly seated us at 2:45 PM without a reservation and with two small dogs, which is not something you'd find at many restaurants in the area. Recommended!

29/07/2025: Prima cosa grazie per averci trovato un tavolo quasi a chiusura della cucina a pranzo. Agriturismo che vorrò riprovare perché dato l'orario border line molte attrazioni del menù erano terminate. Buoni gli arrosticini,ottima la pasta con zucchine e pancetta. Buona la mozzarella con prosciutto crudo. Location veramente gradevole dove vorrò trascorrere un pò di tempo in piu.
20/07/2025: dopo tanti anni, con molto dispiacere devo dire che questa volta il Rio Torto e' stato una delusione unica...due ore e piu'di attesa solo per avere delle bruschette e bevendo di continuo (per il forte caldo) in un salone dove in pieno luglio la mancanza di condizionatori o ventilatori l'hanno fatto da padroni....ovvio che dopo aver bevuto tanto quando e' arrivata l'ordinazione nessuno aveva più voglia di mangiare come appena arrivati....spero che cambi qualcosa quanto prima perché non proporro' piu' amici alla proprieta' per evitare figuracce come quella di oggi....ps: una sola persona a servire i tavoli e' qualcosa di incredibile

09/06/2025: We stopped here for dinner in 4 people. We had a good time, menu at 15 euros per person with first, second and side dish, fast service and helpful owner.
Homemade cuisine, I would return and recommend it.

10/08/2025: Not a good experience, dated room, bathroom shutter cord detached from the wall, smell of smoke and food in the corridors, breakfast poor to say the least with a sign at the back low but clearly visible from the breakfast room with scurrilous statements to say the least in response to closing the door.....
14/07/2025: I don't know where to begin with how disgusting this place is.
The restaurant is not clean; the tables are covered with plastic and a filthy tablecloth underneath, and then set the table with tablecloths with holes in them.
The food is poor, and I think it's even spoiled.
An unpleasant odor everywhere.
The rooms aren't up to standard.
The staff is dirty; one waiter even showed up wearing a filthy apron (and that's a compliment).
This establishment should be inspected by the local health authority.
The owner is always checking our noses, and he's always the one who gets annoyed if you pay by credit card.
And last but not least, we weren't even registered.

04/12/2025: Absolutely leave it alone. The place is unsuitable, dirty, the food is stomach-churning, and the staff is unspeakable. There's no service that can be considered adequate.
08/11/2025: WE ESCAPED!!!
I've never seen a restaurant this dirty. You could tell as soon as we arrived. The floor was sticky and the bathroom was in truly unsanitary conditions. We were scared to eat, so we fled as soon as they brought us a plate of fried pizza (I think). The plate was greasy, the cutlery was dirty, and there were cobwebs on the walls!!! Oh my god, I don't understand how a place like this is even open to the public!!!
