27/03/2026: This was a peak restaurant experience. Full stop. From the interior design (cosy red brick blended with wood paneling, subdued lighting, antique photographs as well as very modern highlights) to the service and of course food - there was not a false note in this symphony. The highlight here is the staggering selection of sake, with styles and sorts certain to pleasantly surprise even the most novice of curious sake drinkers. The restaurant employs two highly knowledgeable and passionate sake sommeliers as well of different generations and experiences, for those who wish to deepen their knowledge or ask about food pairings. The food is prepared with artistic finesse - not snobbery. Whatever is served feels thoroughly well thought out to not have one element either too much or missing. A perfect experience, I’d even say a lifetime peak dining experience.

24/03/2026: For anyone in Milan looking to enjoy delicious Japanese food, sake, and shochu, this is a restaurant I highly recommend. It had been 20 years since I last saw the chef, but I really wanted to enjoy his cooking and drinks again, so I visited SAKEYA during my trip to Italy from Japan. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, almost like being in Kyoto, with pleasant lighting and background music. Just looking at the rows of sake and shochu bottles lining the walls is enjoyable. The quality of the food was superb, and I had a wonderful time, especially since it was our first reunion in a long time. If I have the opportunity to visit Milan again, I would definitely like to revisit this fantastic restaurant.

15/04/2026: Having only visited Japan and Florence, I can’t say if this is the best Japanese restaurant in Florence, but I would be surprised to learn of a more authentic one in Florence. The food was very good, and the service was excellent (far more attentive than most restaurants I’ve patronized in Japan). The food seemed pricey given the portion sizes; though I have no real basis for price comparison in Florence. Most importantly, the rice was well cooked. I appreciate the served rice being grown in Italy. Serving additional rice varieties from Japan could elevate the experience.

07/04/2026: A tiny restaurant in the center of Turin, its dozen seats seem to condense the flavors of simple and delicious Japanese cuisine. Everything is delicious, especially the octopus balls from which the restaurant takes its name. A good selection of sake. Excellent service, delicate and courteous, makes the meal even more enjoyable, and for which Federica deserves special mention. Reasonable prices compared to the quality of the experience. Excellent

29/03/2026: A small, centrally located restaurant; reservations are recommended. The restaurant is very beautiful, clean, and full of character, decorated with Japanese prints and magazines in the language. Thanks to a glass partition, you can watch the chef, who greets you with a smile, cooking the traditional takoyaki. There were two of us, and we ordered several items: a takoyaki tasting menu with three different sauces to choose from, an onigiri, a tonkatsu bento, and a karage bento. My compliments especially went to the karage chicken, which was delicious. They also stock a wide variety of traditional sakes, with a description of the sake and its place of origin, but they also have beers, cocktails, and soft drinks. At the end of the evening, they even offered us hot tea. About fifty people for two, but we ordered a lot of food, and I left out the drinks from the description, so considering everything, the price is very fair for both the quantity and quality of the food. I highly recommend it.

08/04/2026: What better place than Hagakure for a fusion dinner after a day at the beach? The friendly staff guided me through my selection of dishes. Besides the excellent sushi, I was also impressed by the dishes like the Black Cod.
