Thank you, Chef Masa. The sake tasting and skewers were unique. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is very elegant and clean. I must admit, I was very impressed by the kindness of all the staff. See you soon, Sakeya

This was a peak restaurant experience. Full stop. From the interior design (cosy red brick blended with wood paneling, subdued lighting, antique photographs as well as very modern highlights) to the service and of course food - there was not a false note in this symphony.
The highlight here is the staggering selection of sake, with styles and sorts certain to pleasantly surprise even the most novice of curious sake drinkers. The restaurant employs two highly knowledgeable and passionate sake sommeliers as well of different generations and experiences, for those who wish to deepen their knowledge or ask about food pairings.
The food is prepared with artistic finesse - not snobbery. Whatever is served feels thoroughly well thought out to not have one element either too much or missing.
A perfect experience, I’d even say a lifetime peak dining experience.

For anyone in Milan looking to enjoy delicious Japanese food, sake, and shochu, this is a restaurant I highly recommend.
It had been 20 years since I last saw the chef, but I really wanted to enjoy his cooking and drinks again, so I visited SAKEYA during my trip to Italy from Japan.
The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, almost like being in Kyoto, with pleasant lighting and background music. Just looking at the rows of sake and shochu bottles lining the walls is enjoyable.
The quality of the food was superb, and I had a wonderful time, especially since it was our first reunion in a long time.
If I have the opportunity to visit Milan again, I would definitely like to revisit this fantastic restaurant.

One of my all time favorite spots in Milan. Unbeatable selection of sake accompanied by some of the highest quality japanese dishes you can find in the city. Staff is super nice and professional and will help you find a sake that goes well with what you order. Just a 10/10 experience every time we visit!

Absolutely phenomenal. Definitely a fun and contemporary twist on Japanese food in Milano; which is a compliment. I have been to Japan multiple times, and this restaurant would not be amiss in any major city there.
Excellent service and recommendations from Sho-san/Alessio-san, who made our experience very warm, and educational - we got to try a fantastic selection of sake, learning the history and process behind it. Even if you are not a sake fan - I highly suggest being adventurous and listening to the experts!
The food is fantastic - highly recommend...frankly everything. Don't skip dessert!

One of Milan's best Japanese restaurants, where you can enjoy drinks and high-quality food in a wonderful, atmospheric space.
What sets this place apart is not only the delicious drinks and food, but also the sincere service shown by all the staff. Their attentiveness, explanations, and timing of serving the food, as well as the excitement emanating from the busy kitchen, make it clear that this is no ordinary restaurant.
The fried oysters garnished with Wagyu beef melted in your mouth and were addictively delicious. The silver cod garnished with lotus root chips had a refined miso flavor with an exquisite balance of flavors, enhanced by the green laver powder. Finally, the fatty tuna tekiyaki bowl was incredibly fresh and sparkling. I can imagine that everything was prepared with great care.
The corn gelato was exquisite; I wanted to eat 10 more. Sake sommelier Paolo's suggestions and explanations, including the background of how the sake was made and the stories behind its brewing, made it an experience that went beyond simply tasting sake. I don't think there are many places where you can enjoy drinking sake to this extent.
If you're in Milan, this is a place you should definitely visit.

It's hard to call it a Japanese restaurant, but Sakeya is a truly extraordinary experience. From the outside, it looks like a small, unassuming place, but once you enter, you'll find yourself in a meticulously curated space brimming with Japanese spirit. Rows of bottles—of sake, of course, but also other beverages—decorate much of the walls, but what truly captivates is the menu: original, carefully curated, and captivating. And the dishes themselves are a real surprise, both to look at and to eat. For those who love Japanese cuisine, this place probably offers the closest thing to a true Japanese restaurant, with a touch of Milanese class, yet authentic flavors. Prices are high, but it's well worth it. And if you invite someone over for dinner, you'll make a great impression. The owner's knowledge of the sakes served to us is remarkable.
