09/05/2026: 🍷✨ First stop on our weekend among the wineries of the Colli Orientali del Friuli: a wonderful dinner at Trattoria al Parco di Buttrio... and we couldn't have started better! In the heart of the small village of Buttrio, dominated by its elegant bell tower, this trattoria welcomes guests in a large green space with convenient parking and an authentic, relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious, meticulously maintained, and incredibly welcoming. Even though it was a Friday evening and the restaurant was completely full, thanks to our reservation, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Service was prompt, attentive, and professional from the start, with a welcome basket of warm bread to kick off the evening. We started with a truly memorable trio of appetizers: 🥩 Excellent beef tartare with golden croutons, butter, and caramelized onions 🥓 Simply sublime D’Osvaldo prosciutto accompanied by crispy and flavorful tempura zucchini flowers 🌿 D’Osvaldo asparagus salad with eggs and pancetta: a balanced, tasty, and memorable dish We then skipped the first courses to focus directly on the second courses: succulent lamb chops with mashed potatoes and a delicious sausage with polenta, all accompanied by an excellent Meroi Rosso Nestri DOC F.C.O. 2023. 🍷 To round things off, dessert was a must: a truly exquisite millefeuille with mascarpone and strawberries, the perfect conclusion to a splendid Friulian dinner. 🍓✨ What can I say... impeccable service, top-quality ingredients, beautifully presented dishes, and an atmosphere that immediately made you feel at home. Kudos to the entire Trattoria al Parco staff for making this a truly memorable experience. The bill was moderately high, but it was absolutely justified by the quality and the experience. We left feeling completely satisfied. Highly recommended! 👏🍽️

20/03/2026: Gelateria Gioiosa: My "cheat day" in Grado ​As a Grado resident, you know it well: we have as many ice cream shops as you want, but when the fateful "cheat day" arrives and I crave something truly ignorant and indulgent, I head straight to Gelateria Gioiosa. ​My ritual: Dubai Chocolate (and nothing else) ​There's no point beating around the bush, I come here for one specific reason: Dubai Chocolate. Guys, if you want to understand what true indulgence is, you have to try it. It's the flavor I always get: that crazy mix of chocolate, the crunch of pistachio, and that texture that fills your palate... it's out of this world. For me, if there's no Dubai Chocolate, it's not a true cheat day. ​Because it's the best for those who want to "overdo it" ​Here, gelato is a complete experience. It's not your usual light cone; They're full-bodied flavors, rich in variety and ingredients you can taste under your teeth. La Gioiosa has this ability to dare with unique combinations that you won't find anywhere else on the island. It's the ideal place if you're tired of the same old flavors and want something that makes you say "Wow" with every spoonful. ​A Local's Verdict ​For me, La Gioiosa is the prize of the week. I go there because I know the gelato there never disappoints and the quality of the ingredients is evident. If you want a flavor that will stay with you and make you feel like the indulgence was 100% worth it, you know where to go.

20/02/2026: A rip-off. Almost empty ravioli, very little filling, no salt, and arrived almost cold after 45 minutes. And the delivery discount of at least €25 has been abolished. All things considered, China Express is better: 4 shrimp ravioli for €4 and nice and full 😉

Yesterday we celebrated our golden wedding anniversary, reconfirming this choice, and it was a dream come true. We received a wonderful welcome from the great Ivan and enjoyed a fantastic lunch in every way; first-rate quality, a variety to please every palate, admirable creativity and professionalism, attention to every detail of the service, and a knowledgeable, courteous, and elegant staff. In conclusion, we said to ourselves, "DA NANDO IN MORTEGLIANO" IS AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN NUMBER 1! 16/04/2026: The food is excellent, with good-quality game, a great selection of grilled meats, and a good selection of first courses, all hand-made pasta. It's a shame about the location...a bit out of the way.

It is known for its excellent home-cooked cuisine with local specialties and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. In winter, it is a popular stop for skiers, and in summer, it is an ideal destination or stopover for hikers and nature lovers looking for a good meal and rest in the mountains. Worth a visit!👍👏🫶❤️

05/05/2026: This small restaurant specializes in excellent seafood in Barcola. Unfortunately, despite being just steps from the sea, the interior is poorly lit by the warm, pleasant Trieste spring sun. The menu is written on a blackboard or recited from memory by the efficient waiter. The house wine is also pleasant. It's a real shame that tables can't be set up outside. A complimentary grappa is served after the meal.

08/05/2026: The owner is extremely professional and friendly. A quiet little corner in the city center where you can relax, accompanied by good music, exquisite dishes and beers, as well as an impressive selection of whiskies.

05/05/2026: The atmosphere is certainly full of character, given that this establishment is housed in historic rooms with low ceilings topped with beautifully restored wooden beams. The selection of draft beers is impressive, but a less experienced palate would demand more information from the host. When a guest asked for clarification on my visit, he politely replied that the beers on offer were listed on a discreet chalkboard above the bar. Unfortunately, the unpleasant odor from the kitchen is immediately noticeable upon entering.
