01/02/2025: We were recommended this restaurant in our hotel. Lovely ambience and excellent service. I would like to thank you very much for that 🙏. However, I must honestly admit that the enthusiasm didn't last after trying the dishes. Visually everything was very nicely presented. Unfortunately there is a world of difference between the explanation of the dishes and the actual taste... Conclusion Lovely restaurant, but very much specialized for tourists. P.S. The bread in the shape of a snail with the Sicilian olive oil was really delicious 👍

31/01/2025: The quality of the food is nothing special. The service is good and friendly, but the cooking times are terrible. More than half an hour passed between the starter and the pasta dish The price is very high for the final result. I would not recommend it

06/02/2025: It’s a long time Venice institution and has held a Michelin star for decades as well. While, to me, the finesse is a bit excessive and I prefer the older homey approach, Da Fiore is undeniably an amazing restaurant and is a beautiful option for a special night out with your loved one. There are plenty of Venetian staples, refined and made lighter and more upscale here, as well as plenty of new inventive dishes, less typical but still steeped in tradition. The crab meat was delightful, the cod (baccala) amazing as it can only be in Venice, the eel with herb sauce and bitter lettuce beautifully balanced and the tuna fresh and clean, made in a Cesar / panzanella style. The wine list here is amazing, the markups sometimes a touch high but it is a luxury restaurant in the end. As I said before, a gorgeous place for a special night out. Love it.

01/02/2025: A cozy restaurant with local vibes and food that felt homemade in the best way! Had the scallops and two pasta dishes - the pasta with clams and tomatoes was incredible! Great portion sizes, and a Venezian menu that felt very different and refreshing.

24/01/2025: Overall a great restaurant in Venice. We booked a reservation online a few days before our trip. Ordered red wine, the clam pasta and the seafood pasta and it was amazing. I would go back!

21/01/2025: Our choice on our first evening in Venice was Trattoria Dona Onesta. The friendly staff offered us champagne while we were waiting at the door, then we sipped our wine accompanied by gnocchi and meat grazie mille 🙏

23/01/2025: Very pleasant atmosphere with locals but spacious and not overwhelming. We have eaten 2 times these days. Very good pizzas. The burrata and the cod starter were also very delicious.

07/07/2024: Luca excellent cameriere. Food well presented, tasty. Reservations needed well in advance. €158 for shrimp in coriander sauce (excellent), sea bass filet (good), one veggie plate to share, one Prosecco, one glass white, strawberry dessert. We have been before, maybe not a go back for us as other places to try.

29/06/2024: I was in Venice to eat in 11 restaurants, all different but chosen over 12 months before the trip, to show what Venice was capable of. Osteriere Alle Testiere was ‘up there’, to be honest they all were. It’s a small restaurant, sneaking by earlier in the day I saw freshly purchased produced on the table by the kitchen, a good sign. Everything is Fresh, I mean really fresh. The menu is inventive, tastes varying from subtle to in your face. Local wines are a speciality and do real justice to the food coming out of the kitchen. Pilgrim Scallops with Lemon and peppermint were a revelation, perfectly cooked, soft and tender, the Lemon and Mint was not overpowering, a background flavour that danced on the palate, awesome. Being a seafood junkie the main was Prawns with Coriander, Ginger and Lime, and some local vegetables like a kind of ratatouille. Wow wow wow, another lip smacking plate of food. I am a diabetic so don’t eat too many desserts, those on offer were extremely tempting but this was early on in an 11 restaurant marathon so didn’t go for any of the 10! Options available! Earlier that day, I had purchased a cookery book, Venetian Republic, when I thumbed through it back at the Hotel, one of the restaurants desserts was featured, the Pistachio cake, I will be making that for sure. Osteria Alle Testiere is a must do place to eat, I booked it months in advance, it’s small, they were turning people away. Book early and don’t be disappointed.

24/01/2025: Friendly service, nice atmosphere, small portions, extremely high prices, food ok but nothing special, I basically got a plate of tomato pasta with a spoonful of scampi 🫠 we were very disappointed...

22/01/2025: Qué gran agujero en el restaurante de la pared. Lo encontramos por accidente y entramos. Nos gustó tanto el ambiente que decidimos tomar una copa y un aperitivo. Es pequeño pero pintoresco. Es de gestión familiar desde 1940. Fue muy agradable pasar algún tiempo allí. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Las bebidas y la comida que tuvimos eran deliciosos. Pare en si usted está en la zona que bien vale la pena.

23/01/2025: Belle proposition de mets et de vins ! Service attentionné et professionnel Nous y avons dégusté une variation du foie à la vénitienne et une « milanese » de mare (espadon) accompagné par un excellent Valpolicella. Nous recommandons l’assiette de fromages locaux 👍

21/01/2025: The ambience and facilities in the restaurant were excellent. The staff were very helpful and kind. The food and wine were superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the restaurant.

12/01/2025: Recommended by the hotel staff, I looked for it at Osteria and found it. I ordered octopus salad, pasta, and local white wine. I thought I would be able to eat a large portion of the octopus salad, but the octopus was soft and the vegetables were fresh and delicious, and I devoured it in one go. The interior is cute, and I like that the water glasses are Venetian-style. Due to high prices and the weak yen, I was surprised to see the Japanese yen notation, but I'm glad that even a single customer was treated well and was able to enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal.

12/12/2024: Ottima accoglienza e bellissima atmosfera familiare. Siamo stati gli ospiti dell'Osteria Oliva Nera (sui consigli del receptionist dell'albergo "Hotel Paganelli") questo martedì sera per cena e siamo rimasti veramente contentissimi sia del posto che della qualità dei piatti che abbiamo assaggiato (con un abbinamento perfetto con il vino). Siamo stati "coccolati" dall'inizio fino alla fine della nostra esperienza culinaria e questo crea il "plus" per noi. Ovviamente la qualità ha un prezzo e soprattutto a Venezia, dunque niente di "strano" al contrario di quello che abbiamo potuto leggere dall'altre recensioni. Consigliatissimo !

02/12/2024: Ambientazione quasi rustica che trae in inganno, i prezzi esposti un po' alti ma pensi "siamo a Venezia!!". Lo scandalo sono le porzioni: pazienza 15 € per 3 fiori di zucca ma 25 per 5 ravioli (diametro di circa 4 cm) sono veramente troppi!!! E se vogliamo essere pignoli anche 4 € per un coperto con mini tovagliette di plastica mi sembra troppo. Il cibo però è ottimo!

10/02/2025: Excellent restaurant in a quiet area. Authentic atmosphere, good table service, excellent service. The food was very good and plentiful. Generous portions and a fair price. I enjoyed the carbonara and the tiramisu. I would go back and recommend it to anyone passing through Venice. Excellent for dinner, calm and peaceful atmosphere. I loved the experience

09/02/2025: Traveling combining work and pleasure in Venice, we had dinner with a friend in this beautiful location. The brick interior is warm, the windows and the suggestive atmosphere, the service at the top, the food good (I had linguine with seafood, abundant, rich in fish and very good, my friend had a Milanese-style elephant ear cutlet, well fried), the plus is in the service, defined by someone in the reviews as old from the 80s... but this type of service is welcome in which they pay homage to you when you arrive with a welcome glass and at the end of the meal with sorbet to make up for your palate. Honestly, in a Venice that I find more expensive and limited in food every year, I'm still welcome to find an honest and welcoming restaurateur that you'll find when you come to the ancient Sacristy. Highly recommended!

31/12/2024: Food was incredibly delicious, we tried 4 different dishes and they were all amazing. The price for quality was worth it. Amazing seafood. Staff were super friendly and nice. They welcomed us with prosecco and offered help to make us feel comfortable.

08/01/2025: Acababa de recomendar esta osteria a dos amigos que estaban visitando Venecia por primera vez y busqué una entrada anterior, de la que descubrí que había venido aquí durante más de 10 años. Nunca hubiera pensado que podría haber una mejora en la calidad de la cocina pero Vergilio me demostró que estaba equivocado; ha ido de fuerza en fuerza. Decir que su crema di ceci e gamberoni es una sopa es como decir que un Rolls Royce es un coche. La comida del mar se compra fresca todos los días en el mercado que está a unos 5 minutos y el menú ofrece una maravillosa selección de auténticos platos venecianos. Para cualquiera que sea nuevo en las posibilidades, Larisa le explicará en detalle todo lo que pueda desear saber y hay una amplia selección de vinos con la casa tinto y prosecco muy buena relación calidad-precio. No como carne así que no puedo comentar sobre los platos de carne, pero probablemente he comido la mayoría de los otros platos en algún momento y nunca he estado más que encantado (los cozze son prácticamente una comida en sí mismos). Pruebe esta ostería excepcional y experimente una cocina auténtica excepcionalmente buena y una bienvenida muy cálida de Larisa y Virgilio. Non vedo l'ora di rivedervi. Un l'anno prosimmo. Giovanni
