Osteria La Bottega ai Promessi Sposi In Venezia

Very nice atmosphere... perfect sea bass and delicious white wine... we felt very comfortable and will definitely come again!

Last evening in Venice for work, I searched, searched, searched, and searched some more... and I found this osteria with warm, welcoming lighting that prepared two phenomenal dishes: fresh cavatiello with scallop and smoked prawn and tomato (the sweetness of the scallop and tomato complemented the flavor of the prawn divinely with the smoky notes, and a glass of Soave was the perfect accompaniment to this dish, but a Verdicchio wouldn't hurt either) and then slow-cooked veal liver accompanied by two small pieces of polenta (the slow-cooked cooking made the liver tender and flavorful without losing its juices, and the intensity of the meat was cleansed and complemented by the sweetness of the polenta... delicious! A glass of full-bodied Carmenere really gave the dish a wonderful boost). In short, very fair prices and delicious food! Definitely worth trying!

Exquisite pasta (spaghetti vongole) and spectacular tiramisu. Very friendly staff and a central, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of Venice. Highly recommended!

Recommended by locals, this charming restaurant offered a seafood appetizer with a unique and lingering flavor. The main course was expertly prepared, resulting in a rich and complex flavor. The dessert, a homemade honey and walnut mousse, gave me a pleasant sense of familiarity. From Taiwan to Venice, this wonderful dinner made me want to return! Highly recommended to anyone visiting this beautiful city!

Food and overall experience was meh. The first bad sign is that they served bread rolls that tasted like wonder bread. They were out of many of the fish dishes that we specifically came for so we ordered the special -- an uninspired, overcooked tuna steak. Rushed service. Touristy feel with cheesy music. On the plus side, the seafood pasta and strawberry cheesecake were pretty good. You can do better.

We were looking for a restaurant that serves traditional Venetian cuisine. Go there, it's delicious. My husband was thrilled with the squid ink spaghetti. He's been disappointed several times at other restaurants. The staff is lovely. I highly recommend it.

The food was truly delicious, and the place was pleasant. The waiter who served us was smiling and polite, but judging by some of the comments, we probably got it right. ;)

It was delicious. It's understandable that it's small since it's on an island in Venice. I really wanted to try an Aperol Spritz, so I asked about it, but they said they don't serve that kind of thing because it's a restaurant. Sorry about that.
