You could very easily miss this place if you are not paying enough attention on the street - and to be perfectly frank, I didn’t have high expectations when we first walked in. The ambiance is very unpretentious and there are only a few small tables. I didn’t know what to expect as it was booked by my husband and I didn’t know anything about the place. But this place honestly blew my mind! I can honestly say it was the best gnocchi I ever had (pumpkin gnocchi with poppy seeds and smoked ricotta with butter and sage), and the dessert - a deconstructed millefueille - was just as fantastic. Just amazing meal, and service. Do yourself a favor and book a table!

We had a table for 6 in the far corner of this rustic spot, which was perfect for our rowdy group. Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta with onions and anchovies, the seafood sampler (both the anti-pasti and the secondi versions), the capesante (with the roe, which we rarely see in the US), and the seemingly bottomless bottles of ripasso and Pinot Bianca. We had a fun conversation with our lively host, Marco, who gave us the dirt on the restaurant’s Wall of Fame (most of the photos featured the place’s former owner, who has gone to that Great Osteria in the Sky).

Exceptional service and fantastic food. Wonderful: starters - grilled calamari, pumpkin and polenta. Entree's - seafood gnocchi. The brown bread is great as is the chocolate mousse and tiramisu. Simply a wonderful restaurant.

Ostaria Antico Dolo, nei pressi del Ponte di Rialto (sestiere San Polo), è un locale di piccole dimensioni (tavoli poco confortevoli) ma forte di una certa tradizione.
Il menù, non è amplissimo, ma invitante.
Buona la qualità della materia prima e della preparazone. Ottimo il branzino alla griglia con le verdure di stagione. Personale professionale e collaborativo (su mia richiesta hanno modificato una delle proposte del menù.

Very small but excellent. The proximity to the Rialto Bridge could suggest that there are only restaurants for tourists on this street; it is nothing of the sort. We are in a good Italian mood, well-made traditional cuisine and the smiles of people who love what they do.
