05/04/2024: We ate very well, we were welcomed by the owner himself who described the dishes on offer and gave us recommendations, cordially without ever being intrusive, he chatted pleasantly with us, sitting at our table and sharing with us the history of the place. He made us feel like we were guests in his home and not in his restaurant. Grace and kindness enriched our dinner based on typical Tuscan cuisine. A unique place.

04/04/2024: Very good food and friendly attentive waiters. Unfortunately, we ended up having to wait over 30 minutes for the bill even though the restaurant was only half full. The Florentine steak was excellent, the house wine was really good and inexpensive.

10/05/2024: In an extremely touristy city like Florence, value for money is not always there. So without hesitation, I recommend Mario. Welcome, quality of products, reasonable prices, very nice atmosphere. Thank you for everything !

07/05/2024: I absolutely adore this place. This was the best meal I had in Florence and the people there were so fun. The place was so busy but they quickly fit us in and were so welcoming. Everything was delicious but makes sure you get a steak!

17/04/2024: I went there in the evening after being recommended by a B&B. A trattoria that serves high-quality dishes using unique ingredients such as deer, wild boar, and rabbit. However, it doesn't feel like it comes out quickly like in Korea, so it's good to enjoy it leisurely for about 2 hours.

30/03/2024: We went for dinner and found everything very good. In particular, we liked the pappardelle with wild boar and the tiramisu (unfortunately I didn't take photos) which were exceptional. The restaurant is a nice and relaxed place. Good value for money.

01/04/2024: Excellent experience before leaving Florence. It was raining and with two little girls we didn't really know where to go......so we decided to stop in this little restaurant, without a reservation....we had a great time, we felt at home. Hospitality and authenticity... what more could you ask for! Great discovery...unfortunately only at the end of the holiday ...super recommended!! If we end up in Florence again we will come to say hello!! Thanks again!!

07/04/2024: Do you want to eat well or do you want to get likes? They are two different things... Retro atmosphere, like the old trattorias were, warm and welcoming. Whoever welcomes you does so with a smile, which is not to be taken for granted, with friendly and professional staff. You eat on beautiful white tablecloths using cotton napkins. An atmosphere from times gone by that is satisfying, forget your cell phone, the walls are thick and the signal is vacant but believe me it is used to enjoy the dishes without distractions. Fine Tuscan cuisine, where flavors reign supreme, wonderful Tuscan crostini (like my mother and grandmother made), tasty first courses and finally perfectly cooked pasta (that doesn't stick to your teeth) and super seasoned. The peposo.. Made as God commands... Too bad foreigners (Americans) don't try what they don't know and stop at chicken.... They don't know what they're missing

05/04/2024: Opened in 1980 by Ruggero Corsi, at the edge of Florence near Porta Romana, this tiny Trattoria is locally loved thanks to a focus on traditional Tuscan cuisine plus an extensive cellar of affordable Wines to match. Not an easy place to walk-in, the L-shaped footprint holding perhaps two dozen diners, guests instead confirm reservations made by phone before occupying wood seats, a pour of house Chianti soon to follow alongside three types of Bread in a basket. Wood-lined with white tablecloths, tables nearly touching, Trattoria Ruggero proposes a seasonal menu focused on history and season, a plate of Charcuterie plus chopped Liver Toast similar to others while a Salad of Chicories finds bitterness balanced by Anchovy Dressing. Predictably offering Tuscan T-Bones served bloody, a sizable cut for six at an adjacent table, those seeking something lighter should consider Tortellini served in clear Broth with depth or hand-cut Tagliatelle served simply amidst Aspargus and Butter. Tempted by another Steak, more affordable than most, it was on the recommendation of neighbors that spoon-tender Roast Pork instead arrived as Secondi with a side of Potatoes, the extra capacity saved for crumbly Cake and a caramelized Apple from the oven soaked in Syrup.

10/05/2024: We had the wild boar pasta and the creamy tomato sauce pasta and both were so delicious! And the service is truly amazing - we asked for more basil and the waitress came back with a small plate. 49 EUR with 2 pastas, a panna cotta and a 1/2 litre house wine.

09/05/2024: Very central restaurant, quality food and very fair prices. We were on holiday and went back again the day after we discovered it. It was really worth it! If I were to return to Florence I would go back every day!

04/04/2024: Booked with a bit of pressure to leave the table free for a certain time. Good quality food unfortunately the price is high. Nice and clean place. Tried tomato and Florentine soup with two side dishes. Fresh tomatoes and quality Florentine tomatoes.

12/05/2024: Had a really awful experience here. I arrived with my family on a normally busy evening with 3 or 4 similarly sized groups waiting outside for a table and being given wait times. When I went in to register, I was told to follow the waiter and was taken to a restaurant across the street which was supposed to be additional seating. When we sat down, it seemed like it was a wine bar where everyone else was drinking and we were the only ones being served food (from a limited menu). We were hungry so we ordered and pretty much all the dishes we got were mediocre or awful (very much unlike this restaurant usually). And from the door, we should see plenty more people arriving and waiting normally for a table in the main restaurant. The only thing I can think of that was different about our particular family was that we were a different ethnicity, but lots of other similar sized groups of tourists were seated in the main restaurant after us and zero other groups were seated for food in this otherwise empty wine bar. Very very disappointed at our treatment here.

02/04/2024: I have to give my compliments to this restaurant. Compared to many other restaurants in Florence, the location is convenient, a few steps from the central market car park so even if it rains there is no problem. The location is characteristic of a true Tuscan tavern. Lights and furnishings in keeping with tradition. About the food I have to say that it is excellent. They have one of the best steaks I've ever had and I have to admit the starters are amazing too. We tried the tortelli with sauce and I must say that I found them really excellent. Prices in the Florentine average.

07/04/2024: Untasty food, unbearable noise in the restaurant, unpleasant and not clean - not recommended!!! Read the owner's response and realize how pathetic he is - a restaurant is meant to be a place to eat, not a club, so if I wanted noise and dancing I would choose a club. The two reviews written are one of mine and one of my husband - we both visited the restaurant yesterday!!! The comment you posted is someone sent in coordination with you because it's unpleasant to receive negative reviews, apparently from a customer who just doesn't enjoy the place and that's exactly what the review is for. You won't be able to silence people and that's why you are mentioned quite a few times in the review - it's better to take the review to a good place and improve and not be a writer.

07/04/2024: Really not recommended, the food is bland, bad service, loud music, it's a club and not a restaurant, save yourself, the spinach that was served was tasteless, the owner of the place turned off the light in the middle of the meal, turned on the music at a very loud volume, after all we are in a club and not a restaurant, It was possible to talk to each other, except that the owner of the place is a man from Eddad, not nice, I really do not recommend this place, read reviews and understand what is written about the owner!!!!!!! you have been warned.

04/04/2024: About a year ago my girlfriend and I were visiting Florence, accidentally discovered this restaurant, and ate the greatest lasagna ever made. It was like in that film Ratatouille, except instead of a rat it was Lord Jesus Christ himself commanding the chef to prepare this lasagna. A whole year later and I still think it's the best thing I ate my entire life. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, 10/10
