08/12/2025: A restaurant in the center of Siena, where we decided to have lunch during our stay. The place is quite well-kept, though it's a shame about some of the seating options (a small makeshift counter/large table shared with strangers) aren't very comfortable. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly, and we had a wonderful meal!

08/12/2025: Beautiful place. Exceptional lampredotto sandwich. Generous portions and very fair prices. Seats are a bit uncomfortable, but worth it.

15/02/2026: Unfortunately, the quality has declined compared to recent years. The food is basically decent, but some dishes have arrived cold, and the staff seems very annoyed, creating an anxious atmosphere.

14/02/2026: We loved this restaurant! The food is delicious especially the pear and cheese pasta (Fiocchetti di Pera). The staff are so friendly and the service is very efficient. We highly recommend it and will be back here when we next come to Florence :). Thank you 🤩

18/03/2026: We visited Bettola del Buttero and were truly impressed! The place is beautiful, surrounded by greenery and perfect for a relaxing dinner away from the hustle and bustle. There were two of us, and we chose a Black Angus fillet and a rib-eye steak: simply exceptional meat, incredibly tender and full of flavor, cooked to perfection. A truly positive experience, I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves good meat. I'd love to go back!

08/03/2026: They sat us down in front of the grocery store. Virtually every customer walked over us at the table. Restaurant prices, but zero service! Nothing special about the food; the rosticciana was very good, but everything else was bland and flavorless! The place was noisy and overly crowded... OK, it's a grocery store, but then I want to pay grocery store prices, not restaurant prices. A lower price means accepting the confusion and crowds.

07/03/2026: We went for lunch. Everyone was very kind. My husband had a first course, I had a second course, and then dessert. Truly delicious! Highly recommended!!

14/02/2026: We had a confirmed reservation for February 14, approved via Instagram, and even showed the confirmation message upon arrival. Despite this, we were told the booking was not valid because it was approved by “someone else” on their team. We had traveled from another country and were simply turned away without any alternative offered. The situation was handled in a very unprofessional and discourteous manner.

07/02/2026: Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but we had called the restaurant and were told there would be no problem. Once we arrived (8:00 PM), we were told we would have to leave at 9:30 PM. Despite the short time available, we accepted. The service, unfortunately, was disorganized. We finished our appetizer at 8:21 PM and our dishes were cleared immediately, but the main course didn't arrive until 8:49 PM, served first to one person and only a few minutes later to the other, which was inconsiderate for a table of two. After the wait, the main course (meat) arrived cold. We reported the problem to the waitress, who simply replied, "I'll reheat it," without any apology. Given the already long wait, we preferred not to wait any longer. The dish was then quickly collected, without anyone asking if everything was okay or showing any interest in what had happened. A positive note for the desserts, which were truly delicious and well-executed. However, the final management was also lax: the bill was brought to us without request, then we ordered a coffee, which was added to the bill (+€3). When we commented that the price was excessive for the overall experience, the total was simply corrected in pen, without further comment. In summary, the food quality is good—the appetizers, desserts, and main courses were delicious—but the service and customer service fell short of expectations. With greater attention to organization and communication, the experience would have been significantly better.

16/10/2025: A restaurant just a minute away from the central piazza serving you a flow of bites that gradually become bigger. The top floor has one communal table that sits 20, while downstairs is a bit more personal. The food is innovative yet local, I suspect the menu comes together for every evening just before the service. The staff is friendly and at the end of the meal it feels like you're living in the town.

24/10/2025: Food was well prepared and wel proportioned, our waiter was very kind and attentive. And the view is out of this world. Highly recommended. Just don't trust Google maps if you're coming in from the south because it wants to send you down a 5 km tractor path. It's not suitable for even tractors. I turned around about a 100 ft in and found a different route.

22/10/2025: A special thank you to Jerry for a wonderful evening. We decided at short notice to have dinner at La Forra. Even though we didn't have a reservation, a table was quickly prepared for us. As on a previous visit, the food was excellent. The duck breast and the beef (from our own farm) are highly recommended. As a side dish, I highly recommend the roasted cauliflower with almonds and berries. A fantastic experience. The service that evening was absolutely perfect. Attentive and extremely friendly. An excellent grappa and a pleasant conversation with our host rounded off the evening. Thank you very much!

09/06/2025: I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my wife, trying the tasting menu: carefully prepared dishes, well-executed, and with interesting pairings. The food is truly excellent, with quality ingredients and a cuisine that demonstrates technique and personality. However, the experience was partially marred by one important aspect: there is no real wine list. You can only drink from the labels selected by the staff, with no independent selection. This is a significant limitation, especially for those who enjoy creating their own food and wine experience or wish to explore a broader selection. A format that has potential, but one that deserves an overhaul, at least from this perspective.

13/03/2026: Too high expectations = a little disappointed... They had changed a starter without telling us, instead of a mascarpone cream with licorice & lemongrass they served artichoke alla giudea with mayonnaise 🤷‍♀️ The pasta that was a speciality for the evening sounded so good when he explained it turned out to be a regular tomato sauce with a local garlic, well...

09/03/2026: The food is good, and the staff is knowledgeable about both ingredients and wines. The place isn't accessible and feels a bit claustrophobic. Furthermore, the menu doesn't offer a wide variety of first or second courses. There's no Tuscan Chianina Florentine steak, only the Piedmontese one. Even the most traditional dishes are prepared with the addition of more modern ingredients and methods that distort the character of the dishes. Definitely not a typical osteria. Perhaps more of a tourist restaurant, with high prices. It's a shame. There aren't many other options in the area, so the choice perhaps seems a bit forced... I don't think I'll return.

05/02/2026: Don't be fooled by the rotisserie visible from the outside, because it will satisfy your eyes but not your stomach: after ordering two main courses, asking for the liver to be removed from one of them, they arrived with three small pieces of roast and four slices of bread between them (correctly not the liver), but when it came to the bill, there was no price change for the missing piece (nor even an extra piece of meat as a replacement). Add to that the restaurant was scheduled to open at 7:00 PM, but we were left outside in the cold because, according to the owner, the meat wasn't ready yet and takeout should be served first. The only reason I gave it one star is because of the courtesy of the waiter who served us.

23/02/2026: The place isn't easily accessible, with fairly narrow streets and limited parking. The food quality is average. Prices, however, are above average, especially considering the remote location: three of us ordered an appetizer, a first course, a dessert, two bottles of water, and a half liter of wine, for a total of €120 for three. Not exactly country restaurant prices.

14/02/2026: Although it's mostly frequented by foreigners, I didn't feel like a "tourist trap." It's a lovely place; the lamb and pecorino cheese sandwich, with anchovies and dried tomatoes, was delicious! Recommended!
