24/04/2025: Siamo tornati in questo locale immerso nel verde per il pranzo pasquale e questa volta abbiamo ordinato il menù di terra. Che dire? Fantastico!. Le carni cotte alla perfezione , ho mangiato ed apprezzato carni che non avevo mai voluto assaggiare (anatra,quaglia,pecora) Bravissima la ilchef che è riuscita anche questa volta a stupirci e conquistarci. Torneremo sicuramente è vista la fiducia nella cucina daremo mano libera alla chef.

20/05/2025: Unfortunately, we didn’t find the food to be very good. My pasta was overcooked, and although I ordered tomato soup, I was served chickpea soup instead. The service in the restaurant was also disappointing – the waiter didn’t have time to properly attend to us and simply dropped the plates on our table without any interaction.

27/05/2025: The menu is a perfect combination of tradition and creativity. Every dish we tasted was prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented with care. A special round of applause goes to the mezze maniche with white ragù of Cinta Senese, simply sublime. The wine list is also well-stocked and the staff was able to recommend the perfect pairing. The service was impeccable: friendly, attentive but never intrusive. You can feel a true passion for hospitality and good food. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner, a special occasion or simply for those who want to indulge in a moment of true gastronomic pleasure. We will definitely be back!

07/05/2025: On the recommendation of our host Lorenzo from Palazzo di Valli, we ended up at San Desiderio - not a hidden secret address, but a very good recommendation for a stylish dinner in Siena. We were the first guests at 7 p.m., which surprised us a bit - it was probably due to the rain, because the restaurant definitely deserved to be busier. The San Desiderio is located in a quiet side street, just a few steps from the cathedral and the Piazza del Campo - central, but pleasantly away from the hustle and bustle. Housed in a former Romanesque church, the restaurant offers a special ambience with old brick walls, an impressive wooden beam ceiling and modern details such as large-format horse photographs on canvas. The cuisine combines Tuscan tradition with modern accents. The asparagus risotto was very fine in terms of color and taste, although a bit creamy for our taste. The fried eggs with truffles – simple to prepare but excellent in taste. The beef cheeks were a real highlight: tender as butter, served on creamy mashed potatoes. The sea bass with caramelized fennel and burrata cream was also harmonious and beautifully presented. The whole thing is complemented by an extremely friendly, attentive and multilingual service, which rounded off the visit very pleasantly. An all-round successful evening in a restaurant that wonderfully combines atmosphere, quality and hospitality. We would come back at any time.

02/05/2025: Dirt road. Pici all'aglione that didn't taste like aglione. Rib expressly asked to show it to me but it arrived on the table, burnt hard and really bad. Sausages and ribs were actually a small sausage and 2 ribs and that was it. Side dish: dried and burnt baked potatoes, fried artichokes were actually artichokes with a sort of batter that we didn't like. Waitress absolutely not recommended, she didn't understand any of that as I was saying. At the time of payment we pointed this out but not even 1 euro discount. 131 euros with 20 euros of wine. In short, an evening to forget, perhaps we found the wrong evening but it seems strange to me that from the starters to the side dishes they were all made at random. Zero stars.

02/05/2025: Pessimo.strada sterrata.131 euro 2 primi una costata immangiabile, una salsiccia con 2 costine e mangiato malissimo.cameriera molto svogliata.Una costata così penosa non l'avevo mai assaggiata.

06/05/2025: Fantastic!! Super Fiorentina cooked right in front of you! Bruschetta appetizer equally good and different from each other. Highly recommended, you can't help but stop by and eat their meat!! Even the homemade dessert! Super honest prices for the quality!

30/04/2025: We went to this restaurant by chance and what a surprise! We were found a place without having booked, the dishes were delicious and very well received and served. Since we were very happy with our experience, we returned 2 days later with the same success.

15/06/2025: Simple but delicious local food. Always had the porchetta with potatoes when we were here. One surprise is the Tonnata dei Chianti. Tonnato is Italian for Tuna. I will not ruin the surprise. Great place for lunch or a light dinner.

01/06/2025: Nice and informal location. Service by young and helpful guys. Good food, but not exceptional. Decent meat tartare. Pappardella not tied to the ragù. Good hamburger but average.

05/06/2025: There are lots of places to eat in San Gimignano, with a mix of touristy spots on the main streets. But head to the top of the town and turn off the main drag and you'll find La Mangiatoia tucked away round a quiet corner serving good quality Tuscan food for a fair price. Nice service by the owners and staff. Highly recommend. We had 2 pasta dishes and they were both excellent.

06/06/2025: A wonderful lunch with my partner protected by the trees of the Bolgheri square. What amazed us most was the care and quality of the dishes: simplicity of the raw materials for truly refined flavors. Noteworthy wine selection and delightful staff. We will definitely return to try other dishes. Bravi

15/06/2025: Location molto carina all’interno del Borgo, sale interne con cripte a volta favolose, il cibo è stato di ottima qualità. Antipasti con affettati e formaggi buonissimi, così come la ribollita cucinata sapientemente e la guancia con riduzione di Chianti . Tagliata senza un filo di grasso. Buono il servizio e anche il conto adeguato a tutto ciò che abbiamo mangiato. Consiglio vivamente !

31/05/2025: Visit to the village of Sangusme' and for lunch we saw this bruschetteria. Quick brunch with bruschetta (excellent) tomato and mozzarella. To return perhaps for a nice lunch or dinner.

08/06/2025: Thankyou for creating a table for us when we arrived after cycling from Lucca without a reservation. We feel blessed to experience La dolce vita in your pretty restaurant. We loved the crostini pate, the bean casserole was exquisite (in English I'd describe it as a creamy bean muffin♥️) and my stuffed zucchini flowers were delicious. 25/05/2025: Today we had lunch in this restaurant, what can I say, dishes with the flavor of the past, classic Tuscan appetizer, spelt soup and macaroni nettle and porcini mushrooms to die for, for the second course trout fillet and fried chicken with vegetables and to finish sgroppino. Courteous and friendly staff, we will return.
