23/02/2025: Decido di prenotare per una domenica di febbraio viste le molte recensioni positive, peccato che non siano state rispettante per nulla! Al momento della prenotazione chiedo se fossero aperti e mi viene detto soltanto il fine settimana, quindi confermo la prenotazione. Arrivati sul posto e consultato il menù ci rendiamo conto che i primi proposti consistevano soltanto in un arancino con caponata; pensando ci fosse un errore chiediamo delucidazioni alla cameriera che ci risponde che oltre all’arancino era disponibile anche pasta al forno. Nient’altro perché lo chef era assente. Ordiniamo comunque la pasta al forno a seguito di un antipasto di polipo e caponata (non male). Arrivata questa fatidica pasta al forno però era da non crederci: una mattonella con un filo d’olio palesemente riscaldata e tra l’altro anche male, dato che all’interno era praticamente congelata! Il proprietario ci chiede come fosse e abbiamo fatto presente che non era proprio il massimo, per non dire che era pessima. Andiamo avanti con il pranzo prendendo una frittura (dopo che il proprietario ci ha chiesto, scherzando, se volessimo qualcosa di “caldo”) e terminiamo con dei cannoli. Pensavamo di ricevere un occhio di riguardo vista la brutta figura, ma il proprietario al momento del pagamento si era dileguato e sinceramente 28 € per due primi congelati sono un po’ tantini!!! Evidentemente se ci sono problemi con la cucina siate più chiari per evitare di perdere quanto di buono fatto!

02/02/2025: We were surprised to find that Ristorante Vulcano Tipiteca was open on Saturdays and Sundays at the end of January. We order different dishes and are given plates to share, which is common here. Everything tastes very good, we can sit outside with a view of the harbor and are served very attentively. How good that we stayed in Scario a day longer than planned to enjoy it!

06/01/2025: Potresti pensare che la location basti...ma se a questa sommi piatti preparati e presentati con cura, e l'attenzione alla persona nonché al tavolo...beh...non puoi non consigliarlo!!

28/01/2025: Cibo abbondante ma non di primissima scelta, alcuni piatti erano mangiabili altri un po' meno, nel complesso abbiamo passato una serata piacevole perché il personale di sala era veramente cordiale in più ci hanno portato dell'ottimo vino

05/04/2025: Original restaurant built in a modern-grandmother's house style. The menu is quite varied with nice variations (swordfish scallops, for example) and appetizing appetizers. Unfortunately, the taste of the food served does not always satisfy the palate, the service is friendly but with the doors always wide open, at some tables you suffer from cold drafts.

03/04/2025: The food is very good, but I feel like giving it one star, among other things only because there is no 0 star option. Taking the expensive menu I couldn't help but notice that both the cover and the attached images are both generated and drawn by artificial intelligence. As a student cartoonist I wish you all the worst.

26/01/2025: Torniamo dopo un paio di anni in questo ristorante; il giudizio è fortemente negativo. La qualità del cibo è mediocre: un antipasto di verdure e provola assolutamente banale; il filetto di scottona di nessun sapore. Quello che è assolutamente sproporzionato è il conto: circa 53 € a persona per 5 antipasti, 4 filetti, una pizza e 6 dolci. Costo assolutamente esagerato !

13/04/2025: Truly amazing. As a Sicilian, if I want to feel at home I will definitely come back to eat here, from the starters to the desserts, flavors faithful to the original Sicilian ones, caponata, parmigiana, panelle, the first courses and the chops are really good, the only thing I would lower the prices of the desserts, for the rest, if you are from Sicily, you will certainly love this place. ❤️

07/03/2025: We had a very nice lunch and Umberto the waiter was fun and he explained the history of Catania Saint Agatha...we really enjoyed eating at this resturant. The food was reaally to tasty Thank you

03/04/2025: Spectacular place, the owners are very good, Mr. Carmelo is very kind. I recommend the very good meatballs, score 10. The menu is very rich, you can't finish it, it's all delicious.

30/03/2025: I went to this place with people and unfortunately we were only disappointed the appetizer was edible, the two first courses of which a sort of ravioli with pistachio of which there was only the grain and vegetable cream, the macaroni with ragù were hard as for the second courses a thin slice of meat that you couldn't tell what it was full of water, sausage seemed boiled and the meatball contained so much lemon juice that it even covered the taste of the meat, the side dishes were potatoes and peas the potatoes were hard that still tasted raw and a bit of green salad. I don't know how to identify the dessert, it was a semifreddo where you could only taste pieces of almond brittle. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I don't think I'll return.

04/01/2025: Locale freddo, minimal. Sicuramente non merita la stella Michelin. Poco pesce sulla carta. Ci hanno proposto vini scarsi, prevalentemente biologici e in ogni caso andati a male (bottiglie aperte da tempo). Baccalà con crostone buono, idem gli spaghetti al tartufo. La zuppa di cozze e fagioli bocciata. Ban-ettone alla crema al caramello e’ diventato alla crema pasticciera (al palato crema all’UOVO!). 107€ per quattro CAGATELLE.

28/12/2024: Modica bellissima cittadina, offre numerosi svaghi. Questo ristorante si trova al piano alto. In inverno i posti esterni sono ovviamente chiusi ma ritengo che durante l’estate sia molto carino. Metterei all’interno qualche stufetta perché l’ambiente è un po’ freddino. L’accoglienza al nostro arrivo è stata molto piacevole e siamo stati subito serviti. Per iniziare non potevamo non assaggiare i loro cocktail che si distinguono dalle solite proposte. Potenti. Infine abbiamo optato per due primi di pasta molto buoni: mezze maniche con cime di rapa guanciale e pecorino e degli spaghetti fuori menù con gamberetti ed altri ingredienti. A seguire la scelta è stata: una portata di bollito, cotto bene e di buona qualità ma, nell’insieme, il piatto risultava un po’ stopposo. Il famoso polletto al mattone è stato all’altezza delle aspettative. Carta dei vini ottima. Qualità prezzo idem. Consigliato.

05/04/2025: Esperienza da dimenticare, menù fisso dí soli antipasti a 35 euro ( + 5 euro a persona dí coperto) con pesce surgelato o comunque di scarsa qualità in improbabili mix anni ‘80 che siamo stati costretti a prendere in 3 perché impedivano di dividere tra i commensali. Non parliamo della scortesia del personale, venditori ambulanti di fumo impertinenti che disturbano continuamente il pranzo con un senso dell’umorismo di dubbio gusto. Provano a farsi perdonare con i dessert che però sanno di detersivo per piatti. Sconsiglio vivamente.

24/03/2025: Un ottimo pranzo di pesce in compagnia di amiche . Una vera scoperta al ritorno da Taormina Top! Consigliatissimo , ritorneremo!

09/02/2025: Fish restaurant without fish. They say that's how it's used in the Mediterranean. It will be as the innkeeper says. If you like it this way, this is your place. Rough and rushed service (when do they ever take your dish away without asking if you've finished it?). We had already come other times, but I'm afraid after yesterday it might be enough.
