28/04/2026: Looking for a change of pace in Rome? Then why not take a culinary trip to Sardinia? You've come to the right place. Although quite tired from our day of sightseeing, we tried this little restaurant in the evening. We weren't disappointed; the seafood was incredibly fresh. The prices are justified by the quality of the ingredients and the service provided by the chef (and waiter 😁). I highly recommend it.

17/07/2026: Overall was good experience. We took some appetizers and sea bass on the oven and tuna. For me tuna was not fresh. I felt little bit bad smell when I was eating. Service was good.

30/06/2026: I went to Maestrale for my graduation lunch and I can confirm the excellent impression I'd had in the past. Even though I hadn't announced in advance that it was a special occasion and we were a small group, the staff was very helpful and even offered us set menus specially designed for the graduation. In the end, we chose to order à la carte and were all very satisfied. The seafood was truly excellent, the dishes were carefully prepared, the service attentive, and the atmosphere pleasant. A restaurant I definitely recommend, especially for those looking for a good seafood restaurant in Rome.

14/07/2026: We didn't have a reservation, but they let us in because they had empty tables. The portions seemed small to me, and to be honest, the flavor wasn't particularly striking. In fact, I found something in the ravioli – I couldn't tell if it was a shell or a stone, but they insisted it was pistachios. The service was excellent, and they were very friendly. They took special care of each customer individually.

02/07/2026: 🌟 A slice of authentic Sardinia in the cool of the Castelli Romani: a magical evening Last Saturday, to escape the scorching heat of Rome, my son Alessio and I decided to seek out some fresh air in the hills of the Castelli Romani, in Genzano di Roma. As a Sardinian by birth, when I discovered this traditional restaurant in Genzano, I couldn't resist the urge to rediscover the flavors of my childhood and adolescence, when my mother—a brilliant cook—would delight us with her dishes. It was a wonderful choice. We arrived at 8:00 PM and were immediately greeted warmly and kindly. We were seated at a delightful table, surrounded by climbing vines: an intimate atmosphere and a refreshing coolness that consoled us from the city heat. The owner and highly skilled chef, Nicola, proudly showed us the catch of the day and even a freshly baked suckling pig, fragrant and traditionally presented in its cork bark: a huge temptation! Finally, drawn by the freshness of the sea bream, I chose the baked sea bream with potatoes, while my son chose the seared bluefin tuna with caramelized red onion, sesame seeds, and chopped pistachios. I also tried it, but it's difficult, if not impossible, to describe the flavor and deliciousness of this dish. His wife then showed us the first courses, and our choice inevitably fell on the culurgiones with bottarga, the dish that more than any other reminds me of the ancient flavors of my homeland. While sipping an excellent chilled Vermentino di Gallura, we began with seafood appetizers cooked to perfection by them, tender and bursting with the freshest seafood, accompanied by fragrant carasau bread. The wait for the first courses was perfectly acceptable, and in the meantime, something wonderful happened: the relaxing atmosphere of the place encouraged conversation to the point that we struck up a friendship with a couple at the next table. We chatted amiably about tastes, desires, and even the daily struggles of us citizens dealing with taxes and society, even exchanging a taste of the Mirto liqueur we'd ordered. A conviviality from another era. The evening flew by in a flash, even though the second courses took their time, delighting in the wonder of rare and satisfying flavors. By the time we left, it was closing time, midnight! I could describe in detail the abundance and unique quality of the place... but words don't fully do justice to the magic of this place: it was an emotional and regenerating experience for body and soul. 06/06/2026: After sitting down we were treated to a glass of very good prosecco, so much so that we ordered a bottle. The appetizers were truly exquisite: very crispy fried octopus, very good mussel soup with bread to mop it up 😅, and finally, grilled Sardinian cheese with honey, which was really good. For first courses we had seafood fregola, risotto with cream of scambi and spaghetti with clams, perhaps the only thing I would have preferred was the slightly more flavorful first courses.

03/05/2026: We ate incredibly well! We opted for fish appetizers and main courses. My rice with creamy scampi was incredibly good. The fried fish was also delicious. The tiramisu was sublime. The waitresses were very welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

02/04/2026: Excellent fish appetizers, flavorful mussels, delicious fried anchovies, and the carpaccio was also very good. Tagliolini with fish was creamy and flavorful. Seadas (a kind of pasta) with slightly bitter honey, which went really well, and a myrtle liqueur to finish. Very generous portions, excellent value. I absolutely must return for the suckling pig and wild boar.

The fish was incredibly fresh, the Sardinian dishes were not exceptional, the place was welcoming and clean, and the staff were friendly. The space isn't particularly large, so even during the week, given its popularity, I recommend making a reservation. See you next time!

24/06/2026: A terrible experience in every way. The location is neglected and unpleasant, except for the decently decorated veranda, but the real problem was the food: Very low quality, ridiculous portions, and a completely unjustified price. Paying €20 for an aperitif like that is simply absurd. The rice served was a haphazard jumble of ingredients thrown together, with sausages, tuna, and other ingredients thrown in at random, all obviously pre-packaged and slapped on the plate. It was all poorly presented, in minimal quantities, and charged as if it were a gastronomic experience. Shameful is an understatement. The place isn't even remotely up to the price, let alone the one they were asking for. The bathrooms were dilapidated and smelly, another sign of unacceptable management for a place that calls itself a restaurant. To make matters worse, there was also an embarrassing mix-up between vegetarian and gluten-free options, with most diners leaving their plates virtually untouched. That alone says it all. I will never return.
